09/12/10 - DVCers Take Over the Wonder (S.S. Member Cruise 2010) - Thread #2

I have to confirm the time as they pull Mickey to join our group shot without disrupting the singles/Family line .......... I did ask for both Mickey and Minnie, and Minnie will not be able to join us...................

Does the $85 just cover the photograher taking the photos? We have never done this before and we will chip in no matter what - I was just wondering if there is some sort of package that it would be $85....that seems high to snap some photos - even for disney!!!

Good morning!!! I am having a hard time getting motivated this morning. Should already be getting ready for work but instead I'm playing on the computer. :lmao: I can't believe that two weeks from today we'll be enjoying a relaxing sea day!!!

Our kids are staying home and I'm going nuts trying to figure out a schedule for them. I don't have just ONE relative I can leave them with due to scheduling differences. (Jobs, second jobs, clubs, etc) So, One person will stay the night at my house and get them off to school in the mornings. Another person will pick them up from school. Another person will have them during the evening until my sister gets back to my house. UGH!!!!!! The only day I don't have anyone scheduled for is Friday night into Saturday when we get home. I wish it was easier than this!!! I wish I could have just pulled them out of school and brought them with. :upsidedow

Well, I hope you all have a great day!

The sitting fee just covers the Photographer taking the shots- NO PHOTOS are included in this fee ………................ They do take group shots on the steps of Tritons for no fee - But not on Pirates Night – which is the night we all wanted ………………………….. I am still talking to Photo Manager and hoping to get around the fee ………….. But because of time I wanted everyone to know there may be a cost …………………… I know we have not paid a fee in the past but then again we had someone who had a friend within the Wonder crew ………………………… Here is the response from Shutter to our request ……….
“I was contacted by Greg in regards to your request for a group photo with Mickey on the pirate evening of your cruise with us. I forwarded your request to the character manager and this is what we can do. We will have to have the whole group ready and posed by 7:30pm. At 7:40pm Mickey usually leaves for a very quick break in between sets and if your group are all ready and posed Mickey will just stop for one or two quick photos by us before he heads up to his break as he needs to be back in 15 min to continue his set. Minnie will not be able to join you for the group photo as she would be busy with a set. This will have to be timed very well and as per the character manager we have a couple of minutes for us to get the photo and we won’t be able to use personal cameras as the time will not permit it.
There will also be a group sitting fee applied that would be $85 and that does not include any photographs.
Please let me know if this is in order with you so that I can confirm this with the character manager and arrange a photographer for the photo.
Thank you in advance and see you real soon!
Kind regards,”

Wow Debbie! I would be going crazy. :dance3: Hope you get the schedule figured out soon. Good thinkg you have relatives who are nearby.

SOUVENIRS & SCRAP BOOKING
1. One of the best souvenirs you will come home with is pictures. So take plenty of them.

2. You can take a pillowcase, t-shirt, picture frame, blank photo mattes, a Disney princess t-shirt or whatever to guest services at the beginning of the cruise and leave it with Sharpies and request just princesses, Fab 5, or all the characters sign it. Put the items in a Ziploc bag with four different colored Sharpies. Also, include a piece of paper with kids' names, their ages, and stateroom number on it.

3. If you are a scrap booker, the evening before disembarking, pick up extra luggage tags of all the characters - great for your scrapbook pages!

4. A journal for everyone - whether it be to collect phone #'s of new friends (since cells may be left at home or in vehicles) or actually jot down memories of your trip for scrapbooking, trip reporting, or even to make notes of all names of people you've taken pictures of (servers, staff members, counselors, ship stewards, etc). If you took a picture of them you don't want to forget their name by the time you get home. Can also be used to exchange emails addresses with people (especially tablemates) and you can stay in touch, swap pictures and stories!

5. Bring an address book to keep names, emails, telephone numbers, addresses, etc. of the new people you meet.

6. Take (or get) a Disney autograph book or small scrapbook to get character autographs. The books are available everywhere. Bring a thick pen or marker to help the costumed characters. Another tip, only get the characters to sign the left side, leaving the right side for the picture that you are taking of the signing. When you get home, put the picture in.

7. Bring a folder or large manila envelope to keep papers, menus, Navigators, etc. in that you want to take home with you.

8. Save everything, and make a scrapbook.

9. If you're undecided about that beach towel, or t-shirt, or other souvenir buy it. You'll be mad at yourself later if you don't!

10. Bring silver or gold paint markers and then bring or buy a poster to have signed by the crew as a frameable memento of your cruise.

11. Purchase a postcard from Castaway Cay & mail it to yourself. It will be stamped with a Castaway Cay postmark. Remember to bring cash to CC because you cannot use your KTTW card at the post office. If the post office is not open, take the postcard to guest services and ask that it be mailed from Castaway Cay. A few postcards are in your stateroom’s desk drawer.

To All:

I have gotten a response from Shutters to our request to have a Group Photo taken on the steps of Tritons on Pirates Night.................... The Photo can be done at 7:30pm.......... But there is a sitting fee of $85.00 to make it happen .............:headache:

I know we have not paid a fee in the past but on a second email with the Manager she has confirmed the sitting fee would be expected for any group shot with or without Mickey ..................

I am open to any suggestions or if someone knows someone ;)?????? on the Wonder.

The other option is to meet and take our own shots and post later on Facebook or DIS Boards so everyone can have a copy..................

we'll chip in also. :flower3:

I just need to remember to show up. :goodvibes

WE LEAVE IN 11 DAYS THE SAT. 2 WEEKS TODAY WE WILL BE MAKING OUR WAY UP TO PALOS FOR BRUNCH. I FORGET IF ITS 1030 or 11 SOMEONE WILL REMIND ME:rotfl2:

Right now they are watching 4 systems crossing the Atlantic They are figuring Earl to bring bad Rip tides to Eastern coast North Caralina and up. Probably wind damage and rain.

I know exactly what you're going through! We're trying to coordinate grandparents, brothers, sisters-in-law, uncles and aunts! But, with the timing of this trip, DS will be in only his 2nd week of high school -- too much going on for him to miss, even for a Disney trip!

Hope our "best laid plans" all work out!!!!

Tim
