09/12/10 - DVCers Take Over the Wonder (S.S. Member Cruise 2010) - Thread #2

This is true!!! Maybe I'll put the dishrag in HIS hand instead of mine!
They are never too young to learn. I have DS sweeping up his crumbs and he is only 3. DH wants DS to start mowing. :rotfl:

I better go finish some laundry before the weekend comes to an end. :( I can't seem to get anything done during the week, so I have to cram it all in on the weekends.

I have to finish the :laundy: too but I can wait until tomorrow since I have to stay home with DS. His school is closed tomorrow.

I'm glad someone knows how to post the pictures. That's the snapshot I took off of TwoPalms. Looking good!

Well here is hoping that Earl gets the heck out of our way and that Fiona and Gaston don't end up forming since it looks like they are tracking closer and closer to our island with every new storm.

By the way, wanted to let you all know that both Debbie and Ian are on the hurricane naming lists. Check it out: http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/aboutnames.shtml

Hi all - looks like you all had a great time!!! I just finished catching up on the 10 pages you all created!!! DH had his fantasy football draft tonight so I had people here until 930pm and then had a house to clean up and of course the normal sunday night-getting ready to start the week stuff.

Congrats to all the pirate:&:bride: winners.

Terrie has been missing in action....and Debbie you were lucky Ian was entertaining....he can be pretty fierce!!!:rotfl:

I am so excited!! I did get a good deal of packing done today...I am trying to not over pack. The only one I am having trouble with is DH - since he needs both shorts and pants and shirts to go with each....where I will wear sundresses/ capris no matter what...I am attempting to limit the clothes...I usually don't over pack clothes because we have a washer/dryer since we won't this trip (first time in a studio) I am trying to plan in case I don't get to the laundry room.

OOOOHHHHH so am I!!! - My given name is Nicole - my parents have NEVER called me that and I don't know what their purpose was in naming me that. But I could be a hurricane!!!

I started packing...can't pack too much...some of what I'll be bringing is also stuff I wear to work. We dress very casual at work. I've decided that I am shipping some of the FE gifts before so I can save some room in the luggage. Then I'll be able to pack the rest of the FE gifts in my carry on. I THINK I've got it all figured out. I normally pack about a month ahead of time and then a week before I panic and re-pack to make sure I didn't forget anything. So, since I'm packing so close to departure date, maybe I won't panic and have to re-pack! LOL

And where's Terrie today?

Hi everybody! Debbie, when you posted this I was actually in the Atlanta airport getting ready to fly back home, on Spirit airlines (I'll never do that again). I had a great time visiting with friends in Dalton, Georgia. We went to downtown Chattanooga and walked along the river front which was nice. My BFF lives near the top of a mountain and on Friday she made me "work out" :scared1: by walking down and then back up the mountain with her. I don't work out, ever. At least not on purpose. If I am going to run, someone is probably chasing me with an ax, otherwise...no. But she is one of those friends that is easier to give into than argue with unless you are in the mood for an argument. Come to think of it, we are exactly alike in that respect :rolleyes1 I was drenched by the time we made it back up to her house. Now, my legs are SO SORE!!!!! I feel like I got ran over by a truck and then it went ahead and backed up on me too. Ooowwww!!!!

On Saturday we drove back to TN to go white water rafting in class 3-4 rapids on the Ocoee. Our guide's name was "Cornbread". I aksed her why, Cornbread and she told us that everyone thinks she is the "countriest" thing they've ever met and what's "countrier" than cornbread? :lmao: She was hystercial and at every turn she had us both laughing and scared "spitless" Not the word I'm thinking but I'm sure you get my drift  One of our friends nearly backed out because Cornbread scared the "spit" out of her before we ever got near the water :rotfl: Some people just have no sense of adventure

It was so much fun! My heart was in my throat half the time along with a whole lot of river water  and I am just glad I managed to stay on the raft  Now my arms are sore from paddling, so they match my legs in terms of pain levels  Afterwards we (all 11 of us) went to a friend's cabin on the river, made fruity cocktails and floated on the river in chair floats with cupholders the rest of the day :thumbsup2 Fruity cocktails make a very tasty anesthetic for sore arms and legs :worship: It's funny that all of them now live in GA or TN but they all used to live down here in Florida and we all know each other from dog shows and became friends. I am the only one still in Florida  Some of the Goldens jumped in the river with us but none of them had fruity cocktails :rotfl2: they opted for tennis balls. I hope everyone had a great weekend. I can't believe we leave in 2 weeks!!! :dance3: SO much to do, so little time.

HI , I SEE YOU WERE ALL BUSY :rotfl2:WE WERE HAVING A BBQ AND SWIM. WATER WAS 92 BOY THAT FELT GOOD IN THE EVENING. OHHHHHHHHHHHH TOOOOOOOOO BADDDDDDDD!!!!! DEBBIE YOU DIDNT GET THE PIRATE.:rotfl2::rotfl2::worship: OH did i use my outside voice typing that:rotfl2: Well 2 weeks from now as i type i will probably be on the top deck getting my nightly coffee, depending on the weather or may be at a bar if someone entices Laura and I to go.

Terrie sounds like you had a great time!!! The chair float and fruity cocktails sound heavenly - the rest :scared1::scared1:!!!! I am such a chicken. We live in the foothills of the Laurel Mountains and have a popular white water rafting spot about 20 minutes away - but NOOOO WAY!!!!!

DSis called last night and wanted to know if we wanted to come and visit her at college :goodvibes- so we are going tonight after I get off work!! She has been doing really well - she and her roommate are getting along well - she is a very family oriented kid for her age....and she was VERY nervous. I didn't want to push her so I was excited when she asked:)!!!

13 days to go!!!

Good Morning everyone.

Terrie - what a fun trip. It sounds very exciting, relaxing and just plain enjoyable. Too bad trips like that have to end, huh? Well, glad you are back.

Nikki - have fun visiting your sister tonight. Sounds like you two are very close.

Debbie - I hear ya on the pack and repack thing. That is why I am not packing until this weekend. Because if I pack to early then I can't remember what I packed and unpack everything just to repack. So I wait until right before we are leaving then I pack.

Ian - glad you had a good time with your BBQ.

Good morning all!

Sorry I couldn't join yesterday - reading through the posts - what a great way to get into the mood -- as if I'm not already!!!!

And talk about "night and day"! LOL!!!!

These pictures settle it - I don't think there's any good reason to move from this spot the entire cruise! (Except cc of course....)

Those pic's are beautiful...

To All:

I have gotten a response from Shutters to our request to have a Group Photo taken on the steps of Tritons on Pirates Night.................... The Photo can be done at 7:30pm.......... But there is a sitting fee of $85.00 to make it happen .............:headache:

I know we have not paid a fee in the past but on a second email with the Manager she has confirmed the sitting fee would be expected for any group shot with or without Mickey ..................

I am open to any suggestions or if someone knows someone ;)?????? on the Wonder.

The other option is to meet and take our own shots and post later on Facebook or DIS Boards so everyone can have a copy..................
