QOTD: Now that we're getting closer how is everyone getting to the airport? Getting a ride, taking a shuttle, driving and parking your own car?

I'm so excited because we are having a town car take us to the airport!! The kids are going to think its soooo fancy! We were gonna do a limo but prices were too high so the hubby veto'ed it. I'm just glad we don't have to worry about DC traffic!! I'm a little nervous about having to rely on someone else to be on time, but worse comes to worse we can hop in the car and drive it ourselves!

Driving and parking in a Smartpark lot at JFK. Got a good deal, I think something like $13/day.

Oh no! Why did mine day about online check in? I did it already. I thought it was a standard thing but I yours didn't have it then that is disturbing. Annoying!

Woohoo! I got my Mickey Mail today. I love the new luggage tags. Thankfully, everything looks correct with our reservation package.

I did online check-in already, but it has that statement in the packet about checking in online 10 days prior. I'm not reading too much into it, but I was planning on re-doing online check-in anyway within 10 days of arrival. I used the new MDE website to check-in, but it didn't give me any email confirmation. So I will be re-doing it on the old website because I like having a printed confirmation in hand.

24 hours in advance or it's $10/person.

It will come to your TA and then they will either send it to you or, if you are local, will call you to pick it up.

We live about an hour from the airport and we have an early flight so I booked a park sleep fly package which was even cheaper than parking at the airport lot for $10/day. But now my uncle who lives minutes from the airport wants us to spend the night before at his house and he will drive us to the airport and our car stays at his house. I'm really torn now if I should cancel the reservation I made or not.

We are driving ourselves and parking at the airport...would like to stay over as our flight is at 7am but the boyfriend doesn't get back from work away until 7pm the night before...quick turnaround for him!

Are we the only ones driving to WDW??

We're driving! I can't wait- I LOVE a road trip. Oddly enough, so do my boys. We are driving down again in November and then for Spring Break. (Putting some extra miles on the car, but it's okay if it's for Disney. haha)

We are driving too! It's our 3rd year in a row on a road trip but this will be our longest trip. I'm very excited I love road trips!

My husband is driving my mom's minivan to drop us off and pick us up at the airport. He's not looking forward to driving at the airport, but he says it's better than going to Fla! LOL We have to leave our house at 6am. I have yet to invite my mom to sleep over making it an easier morning with us all leaving from the same house together.

We are driving. Straight through to get there. 12 hours. Stopping in Hilton Head on the way back.

My MIL is coming in on the 3rd. We fly out at in the early am, so she will drive us. We are actually flying from Love, and need to be there by 5:30 am, so I am trying to figure out when we need to leave our house. So far all I know is, EARLY!! :lmao: She is also house/dog sitting for us.

Yay! This is our first road trip to WDW as grown ups with kids - DS 4 and DD 2. We are at POP from Au 16 to 23. We are leaving from CT on the 13 and staying in Fayeteville, NC for the night and then Daytona for the next 2 nights!!

I don't think I love road trips as much as I loathe flying and paying for flying. We heart DCL and like to go every other summer so this is supposed to be our "cheap-er" trip- but so far I've added 5 ADRs and the two days in Daytona and one night in Fayetteville instead of driving out of the way to stay with family for free.

Driving to the airport and parking it at in-flight. Worked for us in the past and we feel it's worth the cost of not having to get someone to pick us up when the trip is over.

Did any of you ever work for or dream of working for Disney? I ALWAYS wanted to work there even though my mom was a CM for the Dis Store and I know it isn't as magical as I like to imagine :)

I always wanted to be in charge of Space Mountain or Splash Mountain as a kid- "How many? Stand over there." LOL so lame!

DH will take us to the airport on the 13th, since he's not flying down to join us until the 15th. At that point, he'll just park at the airport - I think it'll cost about $35, not bad. We have a really early flight (6:15am), so we'll have to leave the house around 4:30am - yikes! Luckily we're only about 20 minutes from our airport, so it'll be an easy trip.

This is the first time we've flown in about 5 years - I know I'll really miss driving as I love the road trips! There's something so exciting about travelling through all the states and finally arriving! And I hate the hassle of air travel, but we will be in Orlando in 2 hours, so that's a plus :goodvibes

My Mickey Mail seems to be somewhat messed up. I've gotten two sets, but neither has anything for DH who arrives on the later date. If I don't get that soon, I guess I'll need to call again....
