We are all packed and almost ready to go! I am so excited!!!

We will be heading to Orlando tonight, then to the port tomorrow morning. On Sunday we will be in DTD and will most likely take a boat ride over to POR/POFQ. If anyone has any questions or anything they want me to look out for, just let me know! I'll "see" you all again next week!

Have a GREAT time!!! pixiedust:

Hi August Visitors,

We will be at the world August 15-28 and I was just wondering if anyone who has been late August in other years would know if any of the Halloween decorations or merchandise might be starting to show up around this time?

Not yet. The Halloween decorations don't go up until mid-September.

QOTD?
Thinking about hospitalization and illness I was wondering if any of you have vacation insurance? I know Squirrel does, we didn't purchase any.

We kind of went the Lion King route, you know, "Danger? Ha, I laugh in the face of danger!" (And we all know how well that turned out.) But hey, hakuna matata.

DH is military and isn't guaranteed leave, so I kind of wish we had done insurance, but if the army decides they just can't spare him then I will still be taking the kids. As confident as I am with my mad parenting abilities, that's my biggest worry!

I've been at Magic Kingdom on September 4th (Labor Day weekend) and they had pumpkin decorations and fall decor in place. I did a quick search online and saw August 28th as potentially the earliest it has occurred (2008), with August 29th appearing to be the 2011 date. As for merchandise, I saw references to it being in the parks as early as August 21st. I don't know that I would get my hopes up for decor or merchandise in late August, but with a little pixie dust, you may have a chance!

We did purchase the Trip Insurance offered through Disney. My DH has some medical issues which we took into account. We're also "what if" people and have seen friends and family have emergencies right before their trips and not have trip insurance.

Trying to lighten the mood a bit I had a funny thought earlier.

I check once or twice a day for BOG dinner ADRs throughout our trip. That's the only thing that I'd really like to have for our trip that we don't at the moment. So I log on to Disney.com and search each day of our trip. I'm sure that I'll likely wind up finding one on a day we don't plan to go to the park, so that will be interesting, but we will make it work if that's the case.

Anyways, I plug in my dates and number of people and hit find a table. The circle spinny thing comes up and I wait. While I'm waiting I got reminded of the game show "Press Your Luck." All that is going through my head is "Big money, no Whammies!" :lmao:

Silly I know, but it's the little things that keep us going.

100 days tomorrow!

LOL!
I was like you a few days back. I checked every day a few times a day for a possible ADR at BOG. I finally found one for our first day at Disney. The thing was we weren't thinking of going to a Park on that day but DH said we're gonna have to go now. It just cost around $35 more to add an extra park ticket.
I would check for a Res at 4:00pm and then I would change it to Dinner. When you only check Dinner it searches from like 5:30 on.
What I'm on the look out for now is for the Wishes Dessert Party at Tomorrowland. :)

That's kind of what I thought. I would be really excited if we caught some of the merchandise though.

I just booked the Dessert Fireworks Party for 7/31! Late July just opened up , those of you looking for August may want to check and see if it has been opened up yet. I can't wait for those chocolate covered strawberries and creme brûlée :)

I'm the same way! I check at least multiple times a day and always have the window open on my computer at home.

When we went to MK on our last day of our trip last year they had halloween decor up and merchandise! (August 28th 2012)

It's DALMATIAN DAY!!!!
101 days left in our count down!!
(this morning I forgot it was Wednesday)

I'm subscribed on the Wishes Thread and I check that multiple times a day! It's an addiction, but I would be heartbroken (so dramatic) if we didn't get to do it!

That's cute!

We always go to Disney the last week of August (the last 4 years anyway) and the Halloween Merchandise is always out. Sometimes the decorations go up towards the end of our trip but I am sure I always see the merchandise. I only know this because every single year I think "Hmmm.. should I buy the glow in the dark treat bags?" and every year I don't, and every year at Halloween I wish that I had:rotfl:.

I haven't posted in here in a few days. I've been having a pouty "I don't want to stay off site" few days.:rolleyes2
The budget is what the budget is though and I would have to either A) Not get Annual Passes which would hurt me down the road or B) stay at a value with a discount which would be fine but would drive my food cost up because I would no longer have a full kitchen and C) I would lose all the space of the two bedroom at Bonnet Creek to cram us into one room for pretty much the same price.

None of these options appeal to me so I'll suck it up. It's not even that I think Bonnet Creek will be awful. It's just that I *know* we enjoy onsite, so trying something new worries me a little.

I'm right there with you!!!! I have been checking about every 1/2 hour!!! Not because I think it will be open, but because I would :faint: if it DID open and I MISSED it!!! :rotfl: I guess I'm just a little :hyper: about getting a reservation!! I have at least two options, so I should be good, but this is me: :surfweb: and I don't even DRINK coffee!!!
