QOTD: Now that final August offers have been released this morning, are you adding onto or changing your reservation?

Answer: We did! We added one night at Port Orleans Riverside. We've stayed at French Quarter before, but are excited to try Riverside. I'm happy we'll actually have time to explore both Port Orleans resorts during this vacation!!

Yes, somewhat reluctantly we moved from a Finding Nemo to Cars at AoA. It saves us a few hundred bucks but the kids are slightly disappointed that we're not in the Nemo rooms.

100 days for us today! :cool1::banana::cool1::banana:

Our trip is Aug 12-19...so we have the summer discount on the first 3 nights already, can I get the new discount applied to the last 4 nights? Or does this require 2 separate reservations?
Yes, generally it would require 2 separate reservations. But you can always give them a call, or play around with quotes online, to see if it works out better or worse for you!

Sending love and strength to you and your ds joshsmom. Your positivity just shines. What a fabulous mom you are. And you're right.. You WILL get through this and you have all of us pulling for you guys:hug:

Thank you!!! Its a new day and we are looking for some good news today!! :thumbsup2 Especially after the Blues VERY disappointing loss last night. Congrats to the LA Kings though! Both teams played hard and LA came out on top!

ADRs--well, we have Plaza Restaurant (first time!), Liberty Tree, Crystal Place, BOG (SO EXCITED--even if it IS at 9:30!!), 50's, Hollywood and Vine, Raintree (first time), Tusker House Breakfast (first time!), Chef Mickey's Breaksfast, and Ohana Breakfast. We are looking forward to trying the new places and looking forward to going back to our old favorites!!

I agree. It sounds like you have a really great kid with an equally great mom!

I have to be honest--he IS a great kid and he makes the parenting thing pretty darn easy. I am very proud of the young man he has become. He has been through a lot but he doesn't dwell. He just keeps looking forward to what's ahead! Right now, Disney is his focus!! I think I can live with that!! ;)

I won't say the thought hasn't crossed my mind--but I think we're going to stay put this time. We are at ASMo (my mother's favorite) and she really wanted to go there this time. Next May DS graduates from HS and I let him pick the resort. We are going to stay at Carribean Beach--hopefully with an AP discount! :thumbsup2

We have been working on reversing the rejection since March. They have had him on several different medications. One required that he have a port placed in his chest so he could get the treatment he needed. After 6 weeks they found out that the treatment wasn't working, so they took him off that. The port remains in his chest and that's what is currently infected. So, I suggested TAKING THE PORT OUT, but they are reluctant--thinking they may need it for another type of treatment. He has a biopsy scheduled for next week, so we should know more then.

We are spending our time watching Blues Hockey and talking about our Disney trip planned for August. He is really into planning, so it is keeping us BOTH busy!!! Thank you so much for thinking of us. It WILL get better!!!
:wave2:

Thanks so much!! We ARE hanging in there!!! We are hoping next week will give us more GOOD news than bad!! pixiedust:

Thoughts and prayers to you and your family.

Since we're offsite, the discount release doesn't affect us or our plans.

I was thinking this morning, though....I have nothing to do to pass the time. No discounts to watch for, no resort switches to consider. How the heck am I going to pass the next 15 weeks?!? :confused3

I need a vacation task. Something else to PLAN :hyper:. But the plans are all in place. Oh, what a connundrum!

I will admit to stalking the Jetblue website to watch for decreases in our flight prices (no such luck yet.....just creeping higher and higher) as well Livingsocial and Groupon (not that we need any more activities....but I just need something TO DO! :lmao:). Ah well, it keeps me busy.

Thank goodness for you guys to keep me company as we count down. ::yes::

Yes and no. We're still staying in the same resort and same # of nights, but because I couldn't take advantage of the RO discount released this morning (doesn't apply to our reservation :(), I decided to purchase an annual pass and apply that discount. We'll still end up with two reservations - the 35% AP discount currently only runs through 8/15, so I have that for our first three nights, and I have a AAA discount (15%) applied to our last four nights.

Prior to this, I had the 30% discount (released last month) for the first two nights - since that one only went through 8/14, and 15% AAA for the last 5 nights. (confused yet???) By purchasing the annual pass and changing my reservations as noted above, my entire vacation price went up by $23 - and now I have an AP :woohoo: Plus, I think with the AP, I'll have dining discounts that will more than make up for that $23. Also, I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I can get an AP discount for the last 4 nights of our trip when/if one is released.

I know I'm insane with all these changes/revisions, but it's what we all live for, right :thumbsup2 Also, I'm an accountant, so I just live for running all these numbers :goodvibes

That's really interesting. I've only looked into getting an AP briefly, but we'll have to consider it for the future. Now that we've added Disney cruises to our vacation lineup, our WDW stays have been decreasing. But in the event we'll have at least two full WDW vacations we can cram into one pass, I'd definitely look into it!

I got one for 2011-2012 because I had two trips planned (one with just myself and my son and one as a whole family). Of course, since I had the pass, we squeezed in an extra vacation just myself and DH - so Disney will get my money no matter what I do :lmao:

It helps that we're staying at the Poly in a CL room - since those rooms are pricey, the discount is worth a lot more. We've gotten spoiled with club level, so we're willing to spend the extra $$$ there.

We looked at getting AP this year because we're planning a trip for next June but we couldn't justify the cost. If we had PH it would be worth it but we just have MYW + WP so to add the WP option on it really wasn't worth it. We're also considering a Disney Cruise as part of our trip next year so our days at the park likely would be shorter. Instead of a week at WDW we'd probably do a split trip starting with 4 or 5 days at WDW and then 4 days on a cruise.

Yay for your trip!!! (we really enjoyed POR.....didn't have a Royal Room when we stayed there, as it was pre-Royal Room days, but the resort itself was lovely :thumbsup2).

And a big welcome :welcome: to our little group!

Welcome! So, what do you have planned for your trip?

Thank you both for the welcome

We have also stayed at POR before, I believe is was 2009, definitely pre-Royal room days. I really want to stay at AoA in a Cars suite, I may have to talk my friend into staying there. I just can't see how comfortable 4 adults and a 15 month old will be, but we'll make it work if we have to.

I much orefer BWI, but that is way over budget this time.

momto3gr8boys, we have a couple of dining reservations booked, but we aren't big planners other than that. This will be mine and my husbands 20th trip since June 2005, so we prefer to go with the flow, especially with a 15 month old with us. Besides, my friend and I haven't really had a chance to sit down and set anything in stone, which I hope to get a chance to do this weekend.

The only thing I really want in reservation at Be Our Guest restaurant for Sept 1.

No changes for me. I was lucky enough to get a PIN for my trip's dates before I booked. It's still the best deal I can get. :thumbsup2

We're doing a Cars suite with 4 adults, a 4 year old and 1 year old. It won't be the most spacious arrangement but the adults get their own beds (DH and I share of course) with the baby in a pack'n'play and when I asked my 4 year old where she wanted to sleep she said in the playard with her brother. :rotfl: Even if we could give her her own bed she'd end up with us anyways!

I think that would give us more room to spread out and since we don't have children, I'm not used to them waking at night and she does (hopefully she won't after her surgery on Saturday). If we can even stay in a LK suite, I would be happy. Really, in the end, we are just there to shower and sleep.

No changes for me since we are offsite at Bonnet Creek. However, if pressured I may admit to pricing out a few things when the discounts came out this morning:rolleyes:

We're also getting AP's since we are sure to go in August and December and then one trip next year before they expire. It makes the most sense for us. However, the cost of the AP's has to be put in to the August trip budget and that is what is forcing me to keep the rest of it low because it's $1700:crazy2:
That's actually a reduced cost because we have 2 day tickets we are upgrading to AP's. But it's still a big chunk all at once.

We did upgrade from AoA LM room to POR - Royal room. I know we would have loved the theming at AoA but we have only stayed at moderates before so I just didn't have that "warm and fuzzy" feeling about the LM rooms. I felt like we were down-grading even though its still so new. Now that the switch has been made, I feel so much better. :cheer2:
