I am TOTALLY Disney Dreamin' tonight!! DS17 is back in the hospital--AGAIN--and I am trying to keep myself occupied. I have been obsessively checking for the Wishes Dessert Party--which is NOT going to open tonight, but its something to do. I have been reading lots of different threads on a variety of topics, even if I don't plan on commenting LOL. I guess I'm lurking. I sure wish DS could get through all his issues and get better. 12 weeks from today we will be on Disney property if all goes well!!! pixiedust:

I haven't posted in here in a few days. I've been having a pouty "I don't want to stay off site" few days.:rolleyes2
The budget is what the budget is though and I would have to either A) Not get Annual Passes which would hurt me down the road or B) stay at a value with a discount which would be fine but would drive my food cost up because I would no longer have a full kitchen and C) I would lose all the space of the two bedroom at Bonnet Creek to cram us into one room for pretty much the same price.

None of these options appeal to me so I'll suck it up. It's not even that I think Bonnet Creek will be awful. It's just that I *know* we enjoy onsite, so trying something new worries me a little.

I wondered where you had been. I thought it was odd you hadn't been popping in to say hello.

Sorry to hear you have been struggling with your offsite plans :( . Have you been reading the We Loooovvveee Bonnet Creek thread lately? If not, you should pop back and soak up all the good things that people have to say about the resort.....that might lift your spirits a little :) .

Its always tough to step out of the box and try something new. But I am sure you will love all the space you will have in your condo, and the kiddos will love the pools and lazy rivers :thumbsup2 . *And* you have your onsite trip to look forward to in December ::yes:: , which will seem even more special (maybe?) after a BC stay.

Thinking of you, and sending healing vibes for your DS.

I hope he gets better soon.

THANK YOU! He had a kidney transplant in 2003 and is in full rejection (and has been since March). He keeps getting admitted to the hospital, then going home, then getting re-admitted. Its hard for a 17 year old. He wants to work, go to school, hang with his friends. I TOTALLY understand. But his health has to come first. Its been a long road. But we WILL get throuhg it!

My DS is also 17. I cannot imagine how hard it must be for Josh. That's a horrible burden for a teenager to have to bear.

What is the next step for your son? Will they try to get him another new kidney? Is it possible to reverse the rejection?

We have been working on reversing the rejection since March. They have had him on several different medications. One required that he have a port placed in his chest so he could get the treatment he needed. After 6 weeks they found out that the treatment wasn't working, so they took him off that. The port remains in his chest and that's what is currently infected. So, I suggested TAKING THE PORT OUT, but they are reluctant--thinking they may need it for another type of treatment. He has a biopsy scheduled for next week, so we should know more then.

We are spending our time watching Blues Hockey and talking about our Disney trip planned for August. He is really into planning, so it is keeping us BOTH busy!!! Thank you so much for thinking of us. It WILL get better!!!

Sending love and strength to you and your ds joshsmom. Your positivity just shines. What a fabulous mom you are. And you're right.. You WILL get through this and you have all of us pulling for you guys:hug:

QOTD?
Thinking about hospitalization and illness I was wondering if any of you have vacation insurance? I know Squirrel does, we didn't purchase any.

I have always purchased it, but won't after our last trip. My niece visited the ER twice and lost 4 or 5 days and we received less than what we paid for insurance. We were shocked at how little we got back. Grant it, we don't fly, so airfare isn't needed.

I agree. It sounds like you have a really great kid with an equally great mom! :)

QOTD: Now that final August offers have been released this morning, are you adding onto or changing your reservation?

Answer: We did! We added one night at Port Orleans Riverside. We've stayed at French Quarter before, but are excited to try Riverside. I'm happy we'll actually have time to explore both Port Orleans resorts during this vacation!!

I couldn't change my plans if the discount was to get paid for going! :rotfl: Our dates were not flexible, our resort choice was set in stone, and luckily we already had a pretty good discount for DH being military.

I had all of our ADRs planned out last December, and when my sister decided she was going too and HAD to eat with Alice it took me DAYS to figure out what to change, because my plan, of course, was perfect. :rotfl2:

Our trip is Aug 12-19...so we have the summer discount on the first 3 nights already, can I get the new discount applied to the last 4 nights? Or does this require 2 separate reservations?
