Getting to MK early in the morning betters your chances significantly. Peter and Wendy were meeting right near their ride as recently as January, but they only meet during the morning, and once they leave to prepare for the 3 o'clock parade, they're done for the day, I believe.

I can say from experience that early close days like that are great days to hit Studios. It's usually pretty empty on those days because people don't want to "waste a day" on a park that closes so early.

When they say appliances, they mean big appliances (like a mini fridge). Things like toasters, blenders, coffee machines, etc. are totally fine :)
