Disney's PORT ORLEANS FRENCH QUARTER RESORT Information & Questions

Very random question ... are they selling cereal in the temporary food court? We have a fussy little chipmunk with us :P

    Do you cry at Disney?

I was putting together our holiday video from September 2012 and found a lot of the clips very overwhelming. I get extremely teary-eyed at Fantasmic, when Mickey first appears and when he appears in his Sorcerers Apprentice attire at the end. The parade music and Wishes soundtrack also make me...

Suitcase packing tip for those who fly

Family trip to WDW - four suitcases, four people. Everyone has 25% space in all four cases so if one case goes missing we all still have clothes. ;-)

when is the line too long for you to join?

It depends on the attraction but we probably wouldn't wait more than 30 minutes for anything. However, for Toy Story Mania, we have waited up to 90 minutes simply because we're never early enough to get there at rope drop or get a fastpass for a decent time. TSM is probably the only ride we'd...

    Mnsshp

Hi everyone, Apologies to ask a question that has probably already been asked but, with regards to MNSSHP, do you have to dress in costume? We've never been to any WDW event and are thinking of trying this out when we visit. Not to sound like a spoil sport - we'd all love to dress up - but...

Haunted mansion do they ever use the 'ageing portrait' room

They must only use the room every now and again. On our last visit my mum and dad got the stay in that room before the Stretching Room - I was gutted that I missed it!

    Ugh....it's going to rain....

Magic Kingdom is doable in the rain. To be honest, we got more done in the park when it was pouring because we spent less time standing there talking about where to go next! It was like - run here, go there, do this! :yay:

What changes over the years have you LIKED?

Haha, I agree completely. :thumbsup2 I love the changes to the Haunted Mansion (looking forward also to the changes to the queuing area), love Toy Story Mania, Test Track and most of all Fantasmic! :wizard:

How did YOU fall for Disney?

I was brought up on a diet of Disney films and those Disney's sing-along-songs videos. I even remember my mum taking me to the cinema to see Beauty and the Beast when I was off sick at school. We ended up seeing it three times. When I was 3 my mum, dad and I went to WDW Florida - this was in...

Any reason to ride AstroOrbiter, Dumbo, etc?

I completely agree - all three are must-dos on our trip, although they are much easier to queue for of an evening. Dumbo is a classic and at the moment you can play the great game "What are they building?" as you go round. Astro Orbiter provides great views especially at night and Aladdin is...

Main St. Electrical parade and Wishes, best place?

We always head for Frontierland to watch the parade. We went in July 2010 and found that by heading over there you could get a spot with about 1/2 hour until the parade started, no problem. :)

Official Fantasyland Expansion Q & A (Mickey gets evicted) PART II

Thank you AnthonyJPreston for posting those pictures, especially the one of the new Winnie the Pooh entrance. When we went in July 2010 the entrance was completely boarded up so it's nice to see what they've done. It looks amazing. I'm extremely excited for the Fantasyland expansion - really...

Showing up to Fantasmic last minute?

I was about to say the same thing. We were there this time last month. The first show was at 9pm, we grabbed something to eat in the little restaurant opposite the queue. It was about 7pm so we were hoping that we'd grab something to eat then queue. At about 7:45pm a CM came out shouting...

Ellen's Energy Adventure... 45 minutes... really????

The Dinosaur section really is the best part - it's the sort of ride to go on when it's boiling hot outside and you need a long sit and cool down. :thumbsup2

    is haunted mansion scary?

This is my favourite ride in WDW because of the illusions - but I do find it sort of funny-creepy. As Nadjalu says, it might be better if you ride first and see what you think. I've seen little kids come out laughing and wanting to go on again, and then I've seen some who couldn't get away from...
