Has anyone been able to get into Trader Sam's?

And I thought I was getting there early! My intent was to get there at 4, but it sounds like that wouldn't have mattered. Next time I'll take this advice and go after 8 PM, but it's always so hard to drag myself away from Epcot in the evening!

Here Now 9-14 Quick follow up about security.

I was just there and learned quickly - take off your pin lanyard before you go through the metal detector! Everyone had to go through it at the International Gateway to Epcot entrance but I don't know if that's the norm during busier seasons. Bag check was very thorough - helps if you unzip...

    Is FEA still having issues?

HA HA - totally agree! They ruined the Norway pavilion, in my opinion, but I know tons of kids love the movie, so I get it. But I'm waiting to see Helly Hanson inched out by more Frozen swag. Just a matter of time!

    * Drinks at buffets and shows *

Biergarten servers will take and fulfill all drink orders, including beer/wine. They have a good selection of German beers, the "large" is exactly that - very large!

    Where abouts is trader sams?

Good luck getting a seat, I arrived 30 minutes after opening and was told there was already a 90 minute wait! It's a bit of an obscure location on the inside, but the outside patio bar was nice at least, since I never got inside to get a drink!

Has anyone been able to get into Trader Sam's?

I arrived at 4:30, they open at 4:00, figured it wouldn't be an issue getting a seat at the bar or even standing at the bar for a cocktail. When I arrived I was told it was a 90 minute wait for even just a bar seat! How could it be 90 minutes after being open only 30? The hallway was crowded...

    They ruined the breakfast sandwich

So disappointed in the decline of the breakfast sandwich at all parks. They used to have a fantastic croissant sandwich at the MK main street bakery; also one in Hollywood studios; and The Land. Now, they've gone to a generic breakfast sandwich menu throughout all locations that is just...

Too many pins for a lanyard - ideas?

You could wear two lanyards - one for "keepers" one for "traders" - but that gets annoying around your neck after a while. Maybe wear a hat with your favorite keepers. Or carry a small trading bag for your trading pins. We've done all of the above!

    Resort suggestions welcome :)

I think if you can get a room discount, the Beach Club or Boardwalk are great options. Walking distance to Epcot, which is perfect for Food and Wine. Nice pool facilities and there are plenty of lounge options on the boardwalk for drinks. I also love to stay at the Swan or Dolphin - again, great...

    Simpsons Ride = Motion Sickness?

Just back - I waved off of the Simpsons but in retrospect - probably could have handled it with the dramamine in me. But it was right after MIB - no one told me they love to spin you around A LOT in that one! So after that I figured I better not press my luck. I did find FJ to be a little...

    Newbie questions

Getting the express pass is critical - great benefit of staying onsite. You pretty much walk onto the rides with no wait. At least that was my experience last week. My family was able to do pretty much everything, and some favorite rides multiple times, in two half days, believe it or not. And...

    1st time to Universal

Just got back from my first visit and only needed one full day to see everything. The express pass is incredible - you walk right onto the rides. Honestly, I arrived at the park on a Wednesday at noon and did the Studios side and was at IOA the next morning for early morning hours. Did...

Will grandma (69) be ok on FJ?

I rode it last week on my first trip to IOA and was worried about motion sickness, so I took a dramamine. I thought it jerked you around a lot personally - and I had to close my eyes a few times to keep from feeling ill. The dramamine kept the motion sickness at bay but I did feel somewhat "off"...

Help! Mk strategy with new FP

Just got back and it wasn't a problem at all. Rode Space first thing, then got a FP, headed to Fantasy Land and Winnie the Pooh was broken and Peter Pan was already crowded so went to Big Thunder and rode it with less than a five minute wait, then same for Splash, did Pirates and then back to...

    Wish the storms away

Just got back and my weather report was similar for my stay, but only on one day did it downpour hard enough to matter. But the good thing was - it was a short run to the tequila bar in Mexico, so waiting out the storm was not nearly so tragic! Enjoy your trip and pack your poncho just in case!

    What happened to Soarin?

OK, I know this has been discussed in the past, but I can't remember the explanation or find the thread. Just got back and found the condition of the Soarin film to be horrendous. Was in the concourse to the left (is that A or B?) in row B1. There were so many black specks on the screen that...

To nap or not to nap

We have always been "no break" people and napping in the middle of the day would make me feel absolutely ill. However, I have found that since we've been AP holders for several years now, the pace has lessened. I look for opportunities to go back to the room to "change into a different pair of...

    1st Trip to WDW...Advice Needed

I would say you need separate rooms versus a two bedroom villa. Two cabins sounds like your best bet. With your inlaws, plus your mother - folks like to have their privacy, having everyone in a villa might seem a bit much. All depends on your particular family dynamics, though. I would feel...

    Distance from here to there??

Cape May is a hop skip and jump away from Epcot, so that's perfect. Just leave through the International Gateway exit and walk over - five minutes. No need to take a bus anywhere. Agree that trying to do DTD for dinner during park time is going to kill so much time transporation wise.

    Quick Service Breakfast at RPH?

Does Royal Pacific have any quick service/counter service breakfast options? I want to grab something quick and easy (muffin, egg sandwich, etc) but don't want table service - too anxious to get to the parks for the first time and feel I need something in me before hitting FJ! Thanks.
