"You've got serious thrill issues, Dude" -- A 1st PTR!!

I'm glad you didn't see any damage from the earthquake, and sooo funny that the kids slept through it! My favorite story was from a friend of mine who lives in Richmond, her husband picked up their daughter and got her outside of the house as quickly as possible (they live in a historical brick building, so he didn't trust it to hold) but her response was just "Yay! No nap today!" and ran off to start playing with her toys in the yard. :goodvibes

Sounds like you'll have super cute halloween costumes! Target is always a great place to find them!

I'm very glad you are all ok (and that the quake didn't even disrupt the boys' sleep!)
Hoping the costumes all come in no problem, can't wait to see pictures!

Hope that you guys did ok with Irene...we were fine in my area, but lots of trees down around the city

I know I have been awful about updates lately :guilty: But it's been super busy at my house! The earthquake and Hurricane Irene have nothing on what happened here today.....

The boys started preschool!!!! :scared1: Today they had their orientation, so I went with them and we met their teachers and all the other kids in the class. They LOVED it. As we were driving home, they were asking when we could go back. So I am thinking they're going to have a great year ahead of them! :cloud9:

On the Disney front: I have begun making lists of "must do's" for each park and grouping them by park location, and buying little things here and there. I've gotten glow necklaces and bracelets, small toys for the plane ride, and today I bought myself an adorable "I love Mickey" t-shirt that I found at Old Navy  I promised my DH that I would quit buying Disney shirts for the boys... I never said for me! :rolleyes1 And besides, I didn't have to buy more for the boys - Missy bought them instead :rotfl:

Don't worry about the updates, life has a nasty little habit of getting in the way, doesn't it? :lmao:

How exciting that they enjoyed preschool! It's always a relief when they come home talking about how excited they are to go back! (As opposed to crying their eyes out incessantly when you drop them off!:goodvibes)

Good idea on the "must do" lists, I need to do that myself or run the risk of wandering about without a plan!

I am joining in! A little late but that's my style. LOL. I think your boys will make the cutest Dashes. Great idea. I am a Mother/Baby nurse who gets floated to NICU a lot so I hold those teeny babies often. Bless your heart and theirs. I'm so glad they are strong healthy boys now! Your PTR looks really fun. I know you will have a blast. You are lucky to have such a close friend walk you through it. I usually tell people that they have to go on one Disney trip learn what they like and don't like, make a few mistakes and then their second trip will be perfect. But you won't have to do that. I wish we could get there in the fall. It is my one big regret before my kids became school-aged. Hopefully, we can squeeze one in during their short fall break one year.

Yes, life does get in the way sometimes! The shirt sounds cute! Love the loophole, makes me wish I had someone else to buy shirts for!

Hi and welcome!! :goodvibes Bless you for being a nurse! After our NICU experience, I seriously considered going back to school to become a NICU nurse myself. Those women were so amazing! And yes, I cannot wait for our Disney trip! DH and I have been in our pre-kids life, but I know going with kids will be a whole new experience! I am going to head over and check out your PTR now :thumbsup2

Yes, life does get in the way sometimes! The shirt sounds cute! Love the loophole, makes me wish I had someone else to buy shirts for!

I will be sure to post tons of pics of them in my TR! They now have a Disney shirt to wear for each day of our trip! :woohoo:

Hi guys! Okay, so the latest issue that I have been obsessing about is the airplane.

Our flight is scheduled to leave IAD at 2:00pm and land at MCO at 4:09pm. I originally booked this flight because it was the least expensive. Well now I want to be on the early flight. That one leaves IAD at 8:00am and lands at MCO at 10:00am. That would just give us so much more time to enjoy our day!! So I called JetBlue.
1) It would be $100 PER TICKET (I have 4 tickets) to change our flight now. Ew. No thank you!
2) I could change the flight the morning of the flight for $40 per ticket, still too much $$, but getting warmer.
3) Or I can just show up at the airport and try to fly stand-by on the 8am flight for free. HOWEVER, that does entail us arriving at the airport before 7am and only for the CHANCE at getting on the flight. I mean, right now the odds look good for that - there are 36 empty seats on the plane. But I really don't wanna be stuck at the airport all day. :confused3

Also- I am hard at work on the Mickey surprise for the boys! My plan is for Mickey to "mail" them airplane goody bags. I think I have everything I need for those, I just need to get them put together.
And- my sister and brother-in-law are going to WDW in 2 weeks, so I am going to have them send the boys each a post card from Mickey!

The boys are getting really excited for the trip. Their first day of preschool was this past Wednesday, so Tuesday night DH was talking to them about school and stuff, and he asked them, "Where are you going tomorrow?" and Ryan yelled "DISNEY WORLD!!" Haha- nope, just preschool! :goodvibes

I am all for you guys getting on the earlier flight, because then you'll be on the same flight as us! :woohoo: The Mickey mail for the boys sounds awesome, they're going to be so excited!

Hi - I am guilty of being a terrible PTR updater. Haha :rotfl:

Part of it was we were out of town last week for a horrible, no good, very bad beach vacation!! The first full day we were there, Ryan and I both started running fevers. We were all stuffy, and my ears were hurting really bad. So our second day, we went to Urgent Care and were diagnosed with double ear infections! Then the next day, Jack's symptoms started, and he also had an ear infection. So by mid-week, all 3 of us were on antibiotics! Not to mention that the weather was spotty all week. We only had 2 days where we actually went to the beach. Mostly it was rainy. Ugh. But hopefully that means that I've gotten all my bad vacation karma out of the way so my Disney trip will be perfect!! :cloud9:

I have been hard at work making last minute preparations. I am gathering the last of the necessary items, and I am going to start packing today. I am trying to fit us into 2 suitcases and 4 carry on bags. I was originally going to attempt to cram us all in one suitcase, but Missy pointed out that I get 2 free bags on JetBlue, so I might as well bring 2. Good lookin' out Miss! :thumbsup2

Last night I thought I would check eBay real quick and see if I could find a Cinderella's Carriage pearl cage so I can do pick-a-pearl at Epcot. I didn't have high hopes, but I thought, hey it's worth a shot! Well, not only did I score a fantastic deal, but it was also only $2 for expedited shipping, so I will have it by Tuesday or Wednesday! I'm super excited about that!

I also have a few other items to make. Missy found some ADORABLE fabric - it's orange with Mickey, Minnie and Pluto in Halloween costumes. So I am going to make trick-or-treat bags for the boys for MNSSHP. I am also going to make dining invitations for the boys for all of our ADR's. One from Lightning McQueen for our Sci-Fi lunch, one from Mickey for Chef's Mickey's breakfast, and one from Pooh for their birthday breakfast at Crystal Palace. Pictures to come in the TR! :goodvibes

And now for the 12 days dance: :yay::woohoo::cool1::dance3::cheer2:

This made me laugh out loud! It is SO cute! And oh my gosh your trip is SO soon!!! :cool1::woohoo::yay::cheer2:

How were you actually going to cram four people's worth of stuff for five days into one suitcase AND have room for all the souvies your adorable boys are gonna get? Yep, two suitcases it is! :thumbsup2

You didn't even tell everyone that I totally copied you and bought the same thing so we can both do pick-a-pearl!

I got a sneak peak at the boys' invites and they're so freakin cute I can hardly stand it! You're so crafty Kel! I can't wait to see how the trick-or-treat bags turn out. :yay:

haha hopefully its just one family there dressed like the incredables. well you guys have seen my costume too!! so if you ssee the same make sure you say hi!! as well. Hope you have a wonderfull trip too

Hello there!!! I'm all caught up on your PTR, just in time before you guys leave!!

2) Airplane goody bags! I was thinking it would be cute if "Mickey" sent my boys goody bags to take on the plane. So far I have gotten: Cars crayons and pencil pouches, Toy Story coloring pages, and Mickey stickers. If any Moms out there have done the same: what were the big hits with your kids?

This is a FANTASTIC idea. One time, when Henry was about 2 years old, I bought a bunch of things from the dollar store and wrapped each one. He was occupied for about 10 minutes with unwrapping, then another 20 or so with each toy. It was awesome. It really helped pass the time before we could turn on electronic devices on the plane!

Are you going to try for the stand-by? That would be so great if you could get on the earlier flight! You could really rest-up before MNSSHP too. :thumbsup2

That is completely adorable about Ryan yelling Disney World! :rotfl:

Cute, cute, cute! I can't wait to see the pics---you are going to do a TR too, right?

Just popped over to say.... WE LEAVE FOR DISNEY WORLD TOMORROW!!!!

I was sitting here at work, thumbing through the boards and this thought dawned on me and I got downright giddy. Hehe. :dance3:

Too bad I have to slog through another couple of hours of work. :headache:
