You've Got a Friend in Me:TINKGURL & XOKTENOX's Adventures in WDW~UPDATE: 6/9 p.74

Hey girls!! I am finally all caught up on the TR and I would have too much to say if I went through and commented on everything so I'm just going to sum up here! I love this TR and don't want it to end =)

Kristen - So glad you and Chris started to feel better... getting sick at WDW is the worst! Chris was so kind to get that cake for you as a surprise, I LOVE surprises but my family is really bad at pulling them off haha. I'm glad they didn't make you pay for the wrong cake they brought you - I'm actually shocked it was on the check at all!

Tinkgurlfriend - I LOVE the way you describe your memories and everything, it's so vivid and makes me feel like I'm there! I also remember every little Disney detail down to the smallest things. Everything is so important and connected with a deep feeling for me, I get so emotional about stuff and I can tell you do too, that's why I love reading this TR so much cause I feel like it's me or something! Are you guys planning to go back any time soon?

Hey disneygirlfriend! So glad you got all caught up! Sorry we're behind on doing an update. This week has been busy!

I really try to describe everything well. I'm so glad it comes across well so everyone can understand!

I don't think we're going to be able to go this summer. I know, bummer. I'm freaking out. I have been having the WDW blues! I do know we're going next year in August though for the honeymoon! :) Just wish we could get a trip in before then, but I don't know.

Your summer won't be the same without a trip to Old Key West. Would it help or would it hurt if I go over there in July and take pictures for you?

Have you chosen the resort for your honeymoon? You might have said and I might have missed it or forgotten.

I would tell you to try to get a cheap Pop long weekend trip in, but I don't know if they make things better or worse. As much as I love going, the short trips just end waaaay too soon and leave me begging for more!!!

I have the WDW blues too! I am praying we can go in May. I hope you guys get to go sooner than next year, too. If you don't, though, think about how beyond amazing that Disneymoon will be! Not only will you be married and on a high from that, but when you have to wait and wait to go to Disney and the time finally comes... it's indescribable! :cloud9:

I know, MeMom! It's just not going to be the same without OKW for the summer! It would be great if you sent me pics in July! I also want to help you find our stone out in front of the MK!

Yes, we're staying at the Poly for the honeymoon. :cloud9:

I'd love to try and get a long weekend in at Pop. We might try that, you never know!

I agree, it would just make the honeymoon that more exciting! :goodvibes

Hi TG,

You sound crazy busy with school and life. Hang in there! There's a light at the end of hte tunnel.

It really stinks this will be a non- Disney summer for you- but that honeymoon at the Poly sounds heavenly!! Keep up the hard work- you'll get there!

It would be great if you sent me pics in July!

We'll be there in May and I would be glad to take some pictures for you :goodvibes Do you know if they have pack n plays in the studios? I wasn't sure if I needed to make a special request or not. Which area do you like the best? This will be our first time there, so we don't know much about Old Key West. Any little tidbits you can send our way would be appreciated!

I am FINALLY all caught up here!!!! And what a wonderful, wonderful report!!! I'm loving every single update. Little Guy is completely adorable and you had me in tears when they were leaving. :sad1: Disney is so different through the eyes of a little one, isn't it?

I can literally feel the magic through your updates, ahhhhh. Love those little moments of waiting for a bus or whatever, chatting with friends and family, just enjoying being there. Those are the best!

The bit with stepsisters yelling about the drawings on the arms had me laughing out loud! :lmao:

Aw thanks for getting caught up!

It was really hard to see them go. WDW will never be the same for me now that I had a little one with.

Tink - I'll take pictures of OKW for you on our September trip!

Aw you're so sweet! Thanks!

Thanks, it does help!! Do you know if they have those kids meals in buckets at the snack bar by the pool?

July 25, 2010 *continued*

My group last left off leaving our yummy meal at CRT. We headed back to Frontierland to use our BTMRR FP’s. Kristen and I were talking and she kept me updated where they were, since we planned on meeting up with them. I told her what we were doing, and she was going to let me know as soon as they got to the MK.

As we walked through the FP line, we couldn’t help but laugh and remember Little Guy’s “Splash Mountain” scared face when he rode with us just a few days earlier. I think it’s one of those memories that we’ll talk about forever. I already vowed to tell all his future girlfriends all about it. Haha!

As we walked down the ramp and into the loading area, we hoped to get our favorite spot and we did! The very back! “Hold on to your hats ‘n glasses, ‘cause this here is the wildest ride in the wilderness!” As we made our way to the corner that goes out towards Tom Sawyer Island, the Liberty Belle was going by! We waved at the people on the boat and they waved back. It was a fun little moment. Only in WDW is it normal to wave at strangers and have them wave back. Haha!

By the time we got off BTMRR, it was way past time to use our Space FP’s. So, we cut through the hub in front of the Castle over to Tomorrowland. While we were riding that, Dad went over to get us Buzz FP’s for 8:25-9:25.

*When we last left off, Chris and I had just finished our dinner at 1900 PF with the hilarious stepmother and stepsisters and the less than stellar Cindy and Prince Charming. We paid our bill and I texted Tink to find out where she and her family were. They were at the MK so Chris and I walked up and hopped on the monorail to meet up with them! Once we got to the MK, Tink told me they were about to ride Space Mountain so Chris and I headed that way. I have to say, I was soooooo sticky/slippery/gooey from my massage, especially now that it was hot out and I was sweating! It was not a great feeling on my legs especially. Gross. Anyway, we got over to Space and saw Tink’s dad waiting for the rest of the gang to finish up their ride. We talked to him as we waited. He is seriously suchhhh a nice, friendly, warm man, we had only really known him for a week now and it was just natural sitting and talking to him while we waited. Soon enough, Tink and the rest of the group were exiting Space! We talked a little and she mentioned that they had FPs for Buzz. Chris and I decided to go over and see what time the FPs were for so we could ride together with Tink’s family. We got over there and grabbed FPs for 8:55-9:55…I think Tink’s group had them for 8:30-9:30 so it worked out well, they’d only have to wait less than a half an hour more and we’d all be able to ride together!

We had some time to kill now so we all wanted to ride an old favorite…the TTA/Peoplemover! Chris and I rode in the car with Tink and her DF and it was a nice relaxing ride to get to talk to them about their day so far.

Also, we had a cute photo op

*I love this picture of us Kristen!*

Wow, I’m going to cry as I sit here writing this because I miss that girl sooooo much!!!! The DIS is responsible for me finding one of the most amazing people I’ve ever met. She’s the best friend a girl could ask for and I can’t wait for the day where we’re able to see each other more than once a year!!! Ok, emotion-fest over. Love ya, Tink. Hey, is this where we got stuck in the dark when we were going through the Space part of the ride?

*Oh my gosh, I remember getting stuck in the dark! Ugh! At least it didn’t last very long!*

After our leisurely ride through Tomorrowland there was still more time before we could use our Buzz FPs but we didn’t want to venture too far away. So, we did a favorite of Chris and mine’s…Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor! You don’t hear too many people who love this show but we really enjoy it and think it’s hilarious.
657.jpg

*We had one of the best show experiences yet! We were right behind “That Guy”, and because I’m so short, I kept ending up on the screen behind him! Kristen grabbed my arm one time and made my hand wave, lol!*

It was a funny show as always and finally, it was time to ride Buzz together! Apparently I didn’t get a picture of my score but I’m sure it was horrible anyway!

After Buzz, Tink’s group wanted to go watch the Nightastic fireworks but since Chris and I had seen them a few nights prior, we decided to try and ride Splash since we hadn’t done it yet this trip. We were hoping that we’d have luck like Tink’s family did earlier in the trip and the fireworks would be going off as we went down the big drop at the end of the ride!

On our way through Fantasyland to Frontierland…

When we got to Frontierland, the line for Splash said 35 mins but it really didn’t look that long. Plus, we had nothing else pressing to do so we got in line. As expected, we got on the ride in about 20 mins or so. Here are some SUPER blurry ride shots…

661.jpg

662.jpg

So, did we get to see the fireworks as we went down the final, big drop? No! We missed it by LITERALLY 10 seconds. We got down the hill, around the bend and the first fireworks started going off. I’m not exaggerating at all when I say we were 10 seconds too early…ughh!!

We knew we had some more time before the fireworks were over and we could meet up with Tink again so we ran over to BTMRR quickly to get in line while it was short since everyone was watching Nightastic. We walked through the whole line and waited for one train I think. We LOVEEEE this ride at night! It seriously is faster at night and just so much more fun!

*While Kristen and Chris were busy getting in some rides, my group was busy getting a spot for the fireworks. Sis was dying to watch from our usual spot: Mrs. Potts Ice Cream in Fantasyland, but Fiance and I wanted to watch from our new favorite spot that we found on our Spring Break trip: the Rose Garden! So, we split up. Mom and Dad went with Sis. Here’s Fiance and I’s view:

The moon and clouds looked so neat!:

Do you know how hard it is to get good firework pics?! Here’s the ones that turned out:

After the fireworks, Mom, Dad, and Sis were ready to head back to the room, so we said bye to them.

*When we were done, the fireworks were done and I texted Tink. We made plans to meet up over by the Jungle Cruise. I thought we were way ahead of Tink and her DF so I sent Chris off to grab us a bottle of water at Aloha Isle but just as Chris got on the line, they walked up. Then Chris must have seriously been on the slowest line ever because it took like 15 mins to get the water. I felt bad making Tink and her DF wait!

*We didn’t mind girl!*

Since we were right there, we wanted to try and ride the Jungle Cruise at night again (well, again for Chris and I, I think it was Tink and her DF’s first time at night). Oddly enough, we had the same skipper that we had the first night that we rode it! That was a good thing though because we found him pretty funny!

*While we were on the Jungle Cruise, Fiance saw a cockroach! Which brought us déjà vu from when he saw one a previous night at DHS! Kristen and I were freaking out!

With nothing much else in mind to do, the four of us headed over to Aloha Isle again to get some Dole Whips! We grabbed them and then sat down at a table over there and just talked. Honestly, one of the most memorable, best times of the entire trip. We must have sat there for over an hour, just talking the four of us. I never wanted this time together to end. We could have really sat there all night and kept the conversation going. The four of us are such a great fit for one another. Chris and I are so blessed to have met these two wonderful people!!!

*This was seriously one of the best moments of our trip. We talked about everything and anything. Time just flew by. I was so happy to be with my best friend! I didn’t want our trip to ever end because it was so nice to be able to see Kristen instead of talking on the phone. I can just close my eyes now and picture us in this moment. The warmth of the FL air, the breeze from the fan above us, the taste of our Dole Whips, “Kris and Chris” in front of me and Fiance next to me.

*Finally, it was approaching midnight and we were all tired. It was time to go back to our resorts and get some sleep. What an amazing day and night it had been.

*We walked to the bus stops together and said our goodbyes. We headed to OKW and they headed to Pop.

*Chris and I made it back to Pop at 12:20. We both took quick showers and hopped right into bed. I’m sure we fell asleep the second our heads hit the pillow.

~Up next: AK fun

A beautiful night with wonderful friends. :goodvibes

Sounds like a bit of heaven.

Some of the nicest moments of a trip are spent just sitting around talking and soaking in the atmosphere. Sounds like a beautiful evening.

As much trouble as I have sleeping, in general, a good, sound Disney sleep comes pretty easily. :thumbsup2

UGH! The cockroaches! I have the heebie jeebies just thinking about it! One CRAWLED over my foot in October last year on Jungle Cruise. Eww, eww, eww!!!!!

Great update! And I have so much to comment on haha let's see if I can remember it all!

Okay, I freely admit that I am a super emotional sap...so I have to say I was tearing up when I read this b/c I completely understand! Even after two years it is still surreal to think that someone I met through the DIS and have only been able to meet in person a few times has seriously become my best friend. All of us got along soooo well when we finally all met up last summer (I got to meet her and her boyfriend once before my B/F finally did), and it was so nice to be so at ease! When I got to meet up with them for a quick Cracker Barrel dinner later in the summer b/c my family and I were passing through on a trip to Ohio, my B/F was really, genuinely disappointed that he couldn't be there to see them, as well.

I LOVE BTMRR at night. I especially love the way it's lit up, it just makes it seem so different and so much more fun!

That is our favorite places to watch Wishes. It's so much nicer than crowding on Main Street in front of the castle with a ton of people! How did you guys like the Summer Nightastic fireworks? I would have really liked to see them but at the same time Wishes is my very favorite Disney "show" so I think I really would have missed it.

You're right, some of the best moments aren't watching a show or on a ride.

haha, I think I sleep better at WDW!

So glad to see you understand the friendship that we have found!

I really thought I was going to miss Wishes, but we all really loved the Nightastic show. It was something new to see. The pictures really don't do it justice. They were going off everywhere. It was so cool!

Aww, what a nice night! We haven't done Monsters Inc yet but hope to this trip-- seems like it will be funny!
I agree completely-- the best trip moments are usually the most simple. Soaking in the atmosphere just talking with the ones you love!

I'm so glad you guys liked it! The fireworks going off everywhere reminds me of when we went to the Pirate & Princess Party...they were amazing!

I also meant to ask, how is your sis doing? I know you said that she had to have her tonsils out over break, did she have them out already?
