I can feel your nostalgic feelings as you visit POP once again- this time full of happy memories. What a nice morning showing them around and then getting some skipper entertainment. We had one like that too, and you can hardly help feeling really, really sorry for them!

I really needed to see that dock and that beach today. Thanks for cheering me up.

So glad to help! Thanks for reading.

Oh geez, 15-20 minutes to get close enough to dock?! You know, I've always watched the boat drivers and always think to myself I would probably never be able to do it. It looks like of hard! LOL.

Love the pictures from the boat, once you actually got on, especially the Poly ones. :goodvibes

It does look hard! I guess he had to learn somehow...

Thanks. The beautiful sky really helped the pics!

Welcome!! Thanks for reading along!

And thanks for the compliment. I wouldn't have him any other way! That is SO exciting taking your daughter!! Hope you have fun!

Hi Liesa! It was fun showing them around for sure! Plus, I was anxious to see the Mickey phone again, haha!

What a fun morning of resort hopping! It definately looked like it was a perfectly beautiful day. :goodvibes

Thanks for reading! It was a great morning. It's really nice to explore other places!

Love the pictures of your resort hopping, Tink! I miss Pop so much!

Thanks for reading! Fiance and I really miss Pop too! I didn't know I'd get so attached.

I have to say...can you believe spring break is almost here?! I'll definitely be able to get some good updates done then. Hopefully Kristen will have some time when she's not working or teaching. Sis has to get her tonsils out over break as well!

I was a couple of chapters behind, but am caught up now!

Sorry about the cake fiasco, but kudos to Chris for orchestrating a nice surprise.

Oh, that poor boat driver trying to dock for 15-20 minutes. I'm sure the experienced drivers make it look easy.

Hi glennbo! Thanks for reading.

Chris did a good job surprising her!

I agree, the experienced drivers definitely make it look easy!

Awww, I hope your sis recovers quickly from getting her tonsils out!

Awesome pictures of your resort hopping! Pop is our Disney home and I miss it so much. I also love the Disney boat rides. :lovestruc

Oh goodness that poor boat driver trying so long to dock. I would not have wanted to drive all those people watching me after, I would be too embarrassed!

It was such a nice night together and the cake was delicious...it makes ME smile to think that you're in our happy place right now as I type this!

It would make me smile to still be there right now.

And as we pulled up to Pop, I started getting butterflies in my stomach. It was nice to be back to a place that held special memories for us. It made me miss our trip even more! I don’t think I could’ve gotten off that bus any faster! haha.

Isn't it such a fun place?

I will say that with the main pool, the kiddie pool, and the Goofy water jets all closed while we were there, it took on a different feel. Walking out of Classic Hall and under the big POP sign and not looking out the the liveliness of the Hippy Dippy Pool was different. When we get back in July, it'll be a colorful and happy area again. :hippie:

I am glad you guys enjoyed your visit there. The shadow boxes are fun to look at, and they have added some new things. It is definitely a trip back in time.

There is major work being done over at Animation Suites across the lake. We could see it very well from just outside our room on the back side of the Play Doh building.

That line of palm trees on the narrow 'island' right outside Magic Kingdom is so pretty when you are pulling out on a boat. Thanks for that ride this evening!

Oh my gosh. All of the pictures from the boat to the Polynesian are making me want to cry. I think I could spend hours just riding around in a loop on that boat. And of course, I love walking down the dock at the Polynesian. It always makes me feel like I've returned "home". :cloud9:

Thanks! I hope she does too! I might have to get mine out, but not until May when I have a few weeks before my summer class starts. Yuck.

I honestly didn't know how attached I'd get to Pop, but I did!

I did feel sorry for the boat driver! It took forever!

It would make me smile to still be there right now.

I bet it was weird not seeing all of that open!

They've added new things?! I have to go look! Where at?

I can't wait to see the Animation Suites once it's all done!

You're welcome for the boat ride! :)

I feel your pain.

Hi ladies! I just caught up on your TR and I am so glad that I didn't come back to the Dis after it was all over. It sounds like you both have been so busy in your lives!

I read so many updates that I can't remember all of my thoughts, but I am totally enjoying seeing the whole "family" aspect of your trip, and how well "Kris & Chris" fit in with your family. :)

Can't wait to read more!

HI! So glad you made it back to get caught up. Please let me know when you start your TR!

July 25, 2010 *continued*

We left off leaving the Poly after eating at Capt. Cook’s for lunch. We rode the monorail over to the MK. As we left the GF station and onto the MK station, I had to do something I always do: look for the Mary Poppins topiary. She’s to the right of the monorail, hidden on GF grounds not too far from the station. Unless she’s been moved since then! Whenever I look at her, I get flashbacks of my first several trips to WDW, back when I was 3 and several times after that. She’s been in that same spot since then, so I hope they haven’t moved her.

Another thing I love to do once we leave the GF station is look across the Seven Seas Lagoon over to the Contemporary. It’s especially fun to look over at it if we’re coming from there. I’ll think, “It’s crazy we were just over THERE!” I know, I think of the most random things, haha.

As we walked through the turnstiles and under the train station, once we arrived at MK, I have to admit we were a bit sad. There was no Little Guy to get excited with. And Fiancé kept saying, “I miss him. I miss him being on my shoulders.” Oh, I knew he was a softy! Ha!

We first headed over to the Haunted Mansion, something we hadn’t been to yet this trip. According to my notes, we waited 25-30 minutes. Sis was nervous the whole line, especially once we made it to the loading area. Why? Because a few trips back, as she was sitting in her doom buggy with Mom, the CM snuck around to the other side and peaked around and screamed “BOO!” at the top of his lungs. They let out a loud scream for everyone to hear. It was quite entertaining. But now she’s afraid that’s going to happen to her again. But, no such luck. We had boring CM’s that didn’t even interact with anyone. I know that they’re supposed to be playing a part, but they usually say something.

And I swear, the new attic scene and new bride scare me so much! We’ve tried to take pics of her with our flash off, but they never turn out. Oh well.

After we got away from our hitchhiking ghosts and back out to Liberty Square, we decided to go left into Fantasyland. I remembered reading in my Hidden Magic of WDW book about even the trash cans stay in theme based on their location. Liberty Square:

Fantasyland:

As we walked by the bathroom next to PP, we couldn’t help but laugh and talk about Fiancé’s enjoyable time with Little Guy in that bathroom just a few days earlier. If you don’t remember, I was standing outside the bathroom while they were in there. Pretty soon, I could hear Little Guy making noises. He figured out that the bathroom made his voice echo! He started singing and what-not. The lady standing next to me started laughing, and I said to her, “Yeah, he’s mine…”

Dad and I were wanting to do Mickey’s PhilharMagic, but Mom and Sis have motion sickness watching that, so they headed over to get us FP’s for Space if there were any left. So, Fiancé headed with Dad and I, and we decided to meet up with Mom and Sis by Snow White.

The show was a walk-on…

367-1.jpg

Well, up until you get to the doors. There, we were packed in like sardines until it was show time. I really hate being herded in to shows like that. I wish there was some other way for these types of attractions, but I’m not sure what the solution would be.

The show was great as usual. I can’t help but sing along to it all. Oh, and wave at Tinkerbell. I used to point at the diamond ring in the “Part of Your World” scene and say something to Fiancé, but now I don’t need to! Ha! When Donald crashed into the back wall and falls down the hole, I laughed and reminded Fiancé of the little girl from our Spring Break trip last year. She saw Donald crash and fall, then when the room was silent, she yelled out, “Are you okay Donald?!” It was the cutest thing ever.

We headed over to Snow White, guessing that Mom and Sis were already there, but we had gotten there before them! When they came, they said they decided to ride the People Mover since the show usually takes awhile. And, they were able to score us Space FP’s for 7:25-8:25! Perfect! We could ride it after dinner at CRT!

While we were there, we decided to ride SW. Wait time:

368-1.jpg

While we were in line, I zoomed my camera in on one of the scenes of Cinderella that’s on the Carousel:

369-1.jpg

I also got a pic of Mom’s new Mickey bag:

371-1.jpg

My favorite scene of this ride is the very first one, before you even get into the rest of the ride. Snow White is sitting on the steps singing to the bird, and the Evil Queen is peaking out the window at her. I wish I would’ve known that this ride was closing, so I could have given it a proper good-bye!

As we exited the ride, we decided to check out Sir Mickey’s next door.

374-1.jpg

Like I’ve said before, I love the little details that Disney puts into everything:

372-1.jpg

And while we looked around, I found some of the first Princess Tiana merchandise that I’ve ever seen. I was so excited to see her!:

373-1.jpg

Then, we went across the way over to Castle Couture to look around:

375-1.jpg

Here’s where we had a little “magic”! The CM walking around saw our ‘Just Engaged’ buttons and asked us all about it. She then made me close my eyes and make a wish. When she said I could open them, she gave me a mirror and I saw that she had waved pixie dust in my hair with her want! It was neat. Then, she told us that a couple had just gotten engaged by the wishing well just 20 minutes earlier! How exciting for them!

With all the excitement from the pixie dust and the newly engaged couple, we headed out to look at the Cinderella fountain:

376-1.jpg

I couldn’t help but think of this pic I had seen on the DIS of the fountain with a bunch of people sitting along the edge, with their feet in the water. I mean the fountain was PACKED with people. It was gross!

From there, we went down the side of the Castle towards Adventureland to keep with the shopping theme and check out the Roxy shop. I saw a few things I liked, but nothing I needed to have. It was getting closer to our CRT ADR, so we hurried over to BTMRR to see if there were any FP’s left. We used the cut across from Adventureland to Frontierland since it’s right next to the Roxy shop. Next time you use it, check out the details on both sides. It looks one way in Adventureland, and looks like this on the Liberty Square/Frontierland side:

378-1.jpg

We made it back to BTMRR and saw that there were still FP’s left for 6:05-7:05. By the time we had our FP’s in hand, it was time to head to the Castle for our dinner at CRT. We used our “usual” walkway- the dock that runs along the water that surrounds Tom Sawyer Island.

380-1.jpg

I was getting so excited to be eating here again. We walked back up the side of the Castle and to the check-in area.:

We were given our card…

akdisney410.jpg

…And got in line to meet Cinderella. She saw our ‘Just Engaged’ buttons and congratulated us. Then, she asked what land we were from. When we told her, she asked how long it took our horse and carriage to get there. I loved this Cinderella!

After meeting her, we found a spot on one of the benches to sit and wait to be seated. I immediately had to find Jacque and “Gus-Gus” watching down on Cinderella as she met with families:

akdisney411.jpg

The room was packed with people, so it looked like it was going to be awhile. And it was! If you haven’t been there before, a CM announces over the speaker that your table is now ready, but they have a little spiel to say. Since it took us forever to be seated, we were soon saying it along with him… “Lords and ladies of the Castle, Cinderella has a royal table ready for the ____ Family.” Once it was finally our turn, we all cheered. The CM laughed because he noticed that we had been there for awhile.

As we made our way up the winding staircase, we had to take a pic of the Cinderella stained glass window:

akdisney417.jpg

Once up in the main dining room, we walked along the back wall and up a few stairs to a little section to the side of the room. Here’s our views from the table:

momdisney199.jpg

momdisney200.jpg

We were seated next to an adorable little boy. Of course, I got sad and missed Little Guy. I couldn’t wait to see what this little boy thought of the princesses once they walked around. Meeting the princesses was something new for us since they had made these changes to CRT after our previous trip.

Of course, I had to have the same thing I had last time: Lemon Lavender Chicken on mashed potatoes served with wilted spinach and a chicken jus. And it tasted exactly how I remembered it.

Before we knew it, the waiters/waitresses were bringing out the wands for the girls and swords for the boys. Our waitress brought Sis and me wands. She told Fiancé she figured he didn’t want a sword, but if he really wanted one she’d bring him one. Haha. Then, we had to all wave our wands and just like magic, the princesses came out one by one as they were announced. I have to admit, I got excited when Belle came out. She’s always been my favorite, and I have fond memories of the times I met her as a child.

The first princess to make it to our table was Snow White. Before us, she was at the little boy’s table. He was in absolute love with her, and I think the feeling was mutual. She was bent down next to his high chair, with her arm around him. He was just laying on her and looking at her in awe. We didn’t see him act that way with any of the other princesses, so he had a soft spot for her.

momdisney201.jpg

Next to our table was Belle. I told her how she was my favorite and she told me I was “too kind”. She was the only princess to make Fiancé get in the pic too, haha!:

momdisney203.jpg

Aurora and Ariel weren’t as interactive as Snow White and Belle though:

momdisney204.jpg

After we took our time enjoying being in the Castle and finishing up our meal, we headed back downstairs and out into Fantasyland. As we headed back to Frontierland to use our BTMRR FP’s, I texted Kristen to see if she and Chris had made it to the MK yet.

~Up next: Our MK night with “Kris and Chris”.

Hope everyone had a nice weekend! Even though Spring Break is next week, I'm going to be not having a real "break". Sis gets her tonsils out, and I'll be working on my Research paper. I'm so ready for this semester to be over!!

I love that picture of the giant trying to break-into Sir Mickey's. I've never been in that shop, so had no idea that was in there.

Your sister being nervous before HM reminds me of my sister! One year, a CM scared the crap out of her by sticking his head in the doom buggy at the very last second -- not yelling or anything, just sticking his head in. She got so scared :rotfl: She doesn't let me get in the buggy first now, she has to get in first so it doesn't happen again to her.

Your mom's bag is wicked cute, I love it :goodvibes

Glad you guys had a good dinner at CRT and can't wait to read about your night with Kristen and Chris!

Awwww, I can hear the sadness in your post at not having the little guy around anymore. But I think you ended up having a fun day anyway. Lunch always looks fun in CRT.

I will definitely miss SWhite! It is one that goes WAAAAAAAAAY back to my childhood. But I'm pretty excited about the new coaster too. :thumbsup2
