). I know you don't know how I can run on a treadmill, but I have no idea how you can run in the heat. I was having breathing issues just walking to the mailbox.
). I went into my run having eaten my 1 container of single size cottage cheese and1 low carb granola bar. I had only had one glass of water and my cup of coffee to drink. I am pretty sure I was still dehydrated from overnight, and I ran out of calories way before I hit mile 5. I pushed through and managed to finish, but it was a struggle.
No point on taking a shower if I only had a stinky sweat stained shirt to wear to DD's gymnastics. I took a few minutes to use the blow dryer on my shirt. I can't say it helped all that much, but at least I tried. One of these days I will get into the Y with everything I need. Then the weather will get cool and I will be back running outside. I am off running for the weekend.
Not sure what was up with the music. I am up for any good suggestions on what to run to. I'm also thinking of looking for 4 minutes song followed by one minute of something silly, maybe the musical intro to walk to.
I had to force myself out the door yesterday for the first time all summer. I didn't want to run. I wanted to stay home and do nothing. As staying home equaled cleaning instead of doing nothing, I decided I would rather run than clean.

Your could check these outWhoa! When did we get a table of contents going? I totally want to be a cooler color than black. Make me dark purple or something.
So I've been reading Born to Run recently. I am now looking at my shoes with great suspicion. I'm pretty sure I will have to try this whole bare foot running thing eventually. Unfortunately there is a very clear sign on the door at the Y that says shoes are required, so I don't think I will get to try it on the TM. I am debating on trying it on my driveway. I don't think I am brave enough to try it on the street. My driveway is a light colored concrete vs. the black top of the street. This would also get my hills in as my driveway is one long hill. I'll let you all know if I get up the nerve and try it out.
Tomorrow is my 6 mile run. That will be a new distance PR for me.
Hi Ladies!
Glad your running and training is going well! I just did another run this morning... so slow to get back into the routine after the 1/2 in March and vacations with the kids this summer.
I am going to sign up for either the 5 or 10K here in Montreal the first weekend in Sept. The 5K was my first road race last year during training for the Princess and I want to do it again! I really wanted to do the 10K, but with little time left and little runnung over the summer I might have to go for the 5. The 5 is the pretty run anyway, the 10 starts in the ghetto and then runs the 5 and into the Olympic stadium from the games here in the 70's. It is pretty sweet, but not as great as running through the castle!![]()

Today was another running day for me. Only problem was when my girls left for camp it was drizzling. The news said be on the look out for downpour. So I decided to give the treadmill a shot.
As you know I hate the treadmill. I decided to take it nice and easy on the treadmill. I tried to do a 5 minute warm up, I think I only did a 3 or 4 mintue warm up. I put the treadmill on 4 mph and pretty much left it the whole time. Most of the time I was running, but I did a few 30 seconds of walking spinkled in. The way my basement is set up there is no way to angle the treadmil to face the tv (espically since the treadmil folds so most of the time it is folded out of the way).
I did 2 miles in 30:46 mintues. According to runkeepr my average pace was 15:23. So already an improvement over my last treadmill go round. After I finished on the treadmil, I did the bike for a bit. Probably 20 mintues. Not really sure. My bike doesn't have an acurate control panel. Most times it is not working at all. Today it said 15 mintues but I don't think it was on the whole time.

Normally my body has enough time to process the extra caffeine before my runs, but not on those earlier runs. I am probably at the height of caffeine strength when I am trying to run at 9. What that translates to is an already increased resting heart rate therefore my heart really races when I am trying to run. As it is, most of the aerobic settings on machines hate me. My average heart rate during a run is in the 170s. By the time I get up to 185 I am really having to work to run. I've seen as high as 190 once or twice, but my body was telling me to STOP. I guess this means I have to bring my coffee to drink after morning runs.
I asked DH if I could get one way back when it started to get hot, but he said no. We've had several exercise equipments that were nothing more than glorified coat racks, so I understand his hesitation. I guess since he has seen me go to the Y 3 days a week all summer long, he realized I was serious about this running thing. We were at Sears yesterday and he saw one on clearance (regular price $1499, on sale for $539) and asked if I wanted it. Inside I was all
, but outside I was
. That is a lot of money, but since it was their last one we had to decide fast. I slept on it. We came home and read reviews. Everything we read was positive. So today we took measurements to make sure we could get it in the back of our van (seats out of course). It went in. But now we have a new problem. Those big strong guys that put it in there, didn't come home with us to take it out. We have a second much bigger problem... our house is currently a MESS. We are laying new flooring down in every single room. We have bedrooms in toy rooms, living room in the dining room, and kitchen and toy room is in the den. The treadmill is going in the den, but will have to live in the garage for a little bit. Talk about motivating to make sure the rest of this house gets done ASAP. I was thinking about taking a week "off" of the whole ordeal. Now I will be working on cleaning my bedroom out tomorrow.
That is the last room that has to be cleared before it can have flooring done. Unfortunately it has been the overflow room for all the other rooms so it is packed. It is scary bad in there right now. Don't yell fire in the middle of the night, I might break a leg trying to get over it. So without further ado... my new toy the NordicTrack Elite Zi
