You're daughters wear what?!?!? oh shiny!

Ilovejack lives in Denham Springs and she invited him down for gumbo and a swamp tour. She and your niece are only about an hour and a half apart. One trip and he gets at least two dates outta it.
AustinTink, I would arrange the date with your niece before the "swamp tour" if I were you. Too many opportunities to get lost :rolleyes1.

This reminds me of a book - Around the World in 80 Dates, sounds like FireDancer can do the DIS version :rotfl: most of us know an eligible 25-35 yo single woman we can set him up with. See the USA on blind dates!

Fire, are you REALLY 31 years old? Is that a recent picture of you in your signature?

Man, guys stink sometimes, LOL!

It isn't a deal breaker...but...you are never too old to start. I didn't run more than a mile until I was 27.

I do walk on average 2 miles a day at work. Gets me away from the computer and out into the fresh air. Though today it was the freezing cold air. Though my nose fell off this morning.

Turns out it was still there...just very numb.

Though if you have any tips for a slightly out of shape person to start running I am all ears. Could have sworn they fell off too but nope...numb from the cold.

LOL I think that is a great idea!! I can play tour guide and date planner all at the same time. We own a really nice boat , so no need to pay for an official swamp tour, but I would like a "finders fee" if it works out LOL.

But wait, I have a gorgeous friend.. in shape, educated, and fun. She would love to meet you. How can we work this out?

I guess I can take you out two at a time in the boat .. or we could take you all out in the boat and the girl that comes back wins LOL.

:rotfl: Now we have The Bachelor meets Amazing Race meets Survivor!

I can't vouch for any of the other Cougars/Pumas/Kittens but ilovejack02 is gorgeous and fairly sane ;)

Thank you bengalbelle.. unfortunately I am not on the block for this one, but you know I can find a few quality BR girls that will be up for it.

Wow I can't compete with some of these gals. I don't run, I am slightly out of shape, I am educated but I am not what you would call gorgeous.

How does one bow out gracefully from something like this?

FD- you can come visit me on your tour! I'm newly single though so there may be a lot of ice cream eating and Lifetime movies. And my dog's so small you can pretend she's a cat ;).

This thread is so entertaining!

Oh, and I ran my first half marathon last weekend! (Richmond) Well, "ran" is actually more like "jogged and tried not to die" but I LOVED it (after I spent the entire next day icing my knees). For anyone looking to start I highly recommend checking out the WISH section of the Dis, the Events thread there if you're looking at a specific event, and/or reading the book "Marathoning for Mortals". I've always had problems with my knees but there's no way I would've been able to complete it (if I can toot my own horn, without walking any!) without following the training program in the book. I'm looking forward to training harder and getting a faster time at the Shamrock half in Virginia Beach (my eventual goal is a full marathon but it's so intimidating!).

There is a program called couch to 5k (C25K) that a lot of people on the WISH boards have used to start running. I kind of winged it when I started out but it depends on you base level. Start with a mile. If you can do a mile decide to do a little more next time. Just set moderately difficult goals that are realistic and go for it.

Sanity and gorgeousness are good qualities though a little insanity can be fun from time to time. :thumbsup2

Between AustnTink and ILoveJack02 it sounds like Louisiana is the place to be. You guys aren't undercover Louisiana tourism people are you?

I'm sure I can find something more entertaining to do than Lifetime movies.;) Congrats on the marathon, I saw your post on the WISH boards. I was in your neck of the woods over Labor Day for the Rock N Roll VA Beach half. It is flat and fast, I highly recommend it.
