My engagement ring is a Sapphire. It is actually one that we found at the gem mines. My hubby had it cut then had my ring custom designed after a ring I saw in a dream.

Our wedding bands are made from silver in honor of my late grandparents. Their wedding bands were made from silver nickels. When they got married they were too poor to buy rings so a friend made their rings out of nickels. He pounded them from the middle until they formed a ring. Ours were made from a coin that was melted down and cast, but they are still silver.

Back to the subject of the clothes - my husband went somewhere and called me to tell me they were now selling denim underwear. He was joking of course and talking about some shorts they had out on display. But he said I had undies that covered more than those shorts.

Can't blame all of you for getting distracted, he is a nice looking guy and he seems really nice. Shocked he hasn't been snatched up by now.

My boss' 16 year old twins came by today. They are sweet girls, but I gotta tell ya' today they were dressed like hookers. One had on a teeny tiny skirt that barely covered her butt, a blouse cut down to her navel, thigh high tights and 4 inch heels. The other one had on a skirt that was just a little longer, tight sweater and slouch boots with a heel. They came to have lunch with mom and then head for the mall. I just don't get it.

AND that they are "portraying" themselves that way and is it a wonder WHY boys look at them the way they do?????? And adults question their sanity the way we do???.....

I had to pop in at the HS last week....I was mortified that parents allow their Girls to go to school wearing this OR are these kids changing before school starts and not leaving home like this?????...

THONGS hanging out of their Tight Sweats (and I do NOT care that the sweats are Gucci or whatever), the SHORTEST skirts imaginable, ripped torn jeans (talk about sloppy looking) and cut off shirts...and its also WINTER...WTH?????

Talk about no self worth....whether they realize it or not, YES they are judged by the way they LOOK and ACT.
Personally I even commented to my HS ds and he was like, "typical" and he thought nothing of it.................just "reminded" him that because they DRESS like that they should still be respected by HIM regardless if they have no SELF respect! SCARY as the mom of a BOY!!
I wonder if parents are just so overwhelmed with so many things that they think this "issue" is just a small battle and not a "war" to fight. I think it is something that SHOULD be addressed......even at the SCHOOL level....

Wow! When I was 20 I went to a restaurant called D1ck's in Myrtle Beach (if you've never been to one or heard of them it's a restaurant where the servers are mean to you[in fun but some of it crosses the line], we didn't know it was like this until we had already ordered our food). I was with my very conservative family and the server made us all huge paper hats and wrote things on them. On mine he wrote "Best Stripper in America. $1 per lap dance" I, of course, didn't wear it but the 13 year old girl sitting at the table next to us with her family asked if she could have it and wore it the rest of the time and out of the restaurant (although I often wonder if that guy [our server] only thought I was worth $1! ).
