You're a National Treasure - Nov. Exercise Challenge

456/1000

63 minutes today...Chalean Extreme "Get Lean Intervals" and "Recharge" (cardio, light weight strength, and stretching/yoga).

The scale may not be budging for me, but I'm eating very healthy and balanced and working out regularly. I wanna punch the scale in the face though...I was sure I had lost last week but didn't. Clothes are getting a little looser though I wish I could change my mindset and focus only on that rather than focusing on both that and the scale. I'm going to a weight watchers meeting tomorrow morning...taking advantage of the fact I am off tomorrow for Veterans Day. Not setting an alarm though...if I don't make the 9:45 meeting I will go to the 11:15 one.

Do you all get frustrated with the scale when you do everything right too? I don't know what's up with this but it seems over the last year it won't budge in the right direction. Sometimes it creeps up a little bit for no apparent reason, then it just stays there. :(

Yes!!! I hate this! That is how i felt all summer! I blamed it on age, stress, meds, my thyroid (no, that is apparently fine) So in my scales defense, I have determined that i probably only get it about 80% right most of the time. I can't seem to get everything in line working in the same direction at one time. (Tracking my food, exercising, not stressing out constantly, not having a few drinks here and there with coworkers etc). But so far this WEEK I'm doing much better thanks to u all!

Keep at it. Try to be thankful for how you feel - stronger healthier, capable Until the scale goes down.

Figment1990 - I meant to ask, "how are you walking today after yesterday's torture session with Jillian?"

My legs weren't as bad as I expected but my upper body is definitely saying- hey remember me? U neglected me for the past few years while u did all that running and stuff! :) actually I did burpees for the first time in nearly 5 years (due to an injury) and some plank stuff I haven't done in ages. Felt hard. But good.

Adding 55 min tonight: 320/1400

Hi all! I hope everyone had a great day, and for those who were off from work/school for Veteran's Day ... I hope you took the time to get in some exercise!

30 minutes on the treadmill for me today.

Mornin'

Quietish day on the thread yesterday, I hope folks has a good day. For me - the week of Doom got a bit doom-ier. Today's mantra "I will not eat the college bookstore's entire supply of chocolate...I will not eat the college bookstore's entire supply of chocolate...."

Oh! but I do have to tell you a story. I went for a walk around campus yesterday and I went past one of the dorms and I heard these ungodly high-pitched/rhythmic chanting kind of weird sounds coming from an entire 1/2 of the dormitory. A student walked out and I said, "I probably don't even want to know what's going on in there" and she said, "oh, they're all just singing the Lion King".

And then there's you guys. A complete ray of sunshine in a pitch dark morning!

And guess what? We have our first members of Purple Power!
Congratulations to:

We have a whole group of others who are tthhiiiissss close to going up to the next level, whether it's joining Team Orange or Purple Power - EVERYONE is making awesome progress this month.

Hang in there, hmack, it's hump day of the week of doom. :flower3:

30 minutes walking and 60 minutes with running group last night (yes, it was 25 and windy and felt like 10 ::yes::)
which brings me to: 530/1000

I love seeing all those colors changing! :rainbow:

Adding 100 more minutes since last posting. A good Gym trip, no crazy lady! More walking, exercises.

And, started making dining reservations and plans for our DL trip in just 9 days! It's a surprise for the dd's. We plan to pick them up from rehearsal and then just start driving... but it's SOOO hard to keep it a secret!!

540/1000

34 minutes of strength training today. Managed to squeeze it in, even though I have parent/teacher conferences for my sons tonight! Leaving in about 45 minutes and hoping for great reports! :)

609/1400

A couple of 5 mile days and a campus tour contribute to my numbers.

Wishing you all a good rest of the week. :)

819/1500

Was lazy this morning and didn't swim because I didn't want to walk later with wet hair. Such a lame excuse!:rotfl2:

The week of Doom continues.
Good news - today is the last day that I have to be at work by 6:45 (normal hours are 8 a.m.)

bad news - my co-worker had to start emergency medical leave yesterday, which was totally unexpected. So today is little ole me vs. the college freshmen. I may be under my desk by 7:30 a.m.

Confession: I stress ate yesterday. badly.

slightlyocdDisnyfan - i have 3 words, "adopt...me...please?" :)

But you guys, wow! you guys tore it up yesterday with all of your activity.
glss1/2fll -your yesterday status cracked me up. :thumbsup2

So we have some color changes this morning...
Figment1990 - Team Orange!
Lisah0711 - Purple Power!
glss1/2fll - Purple Power!

Our team stat is 41.07% Which has me speculating about when we might hit 50% and bets out there?

Yay for getting to start at normal time tomorrow ... but having to cover for your co-worker sounds very stressful. Just remember that one bad day doesn't make a bad habit - you can (and will!) do better today!

Yay! I love seeing all the orange and purple on the front page. I think we can hit 50% soon ... maybe even by the end of the weekend or early next week.

Here's my contribution:

Wednesday - 16 minutes walking
Thursday - 70 minutes walk/run (including warm up & cool down - although it was hard to "warm" up in this cold weather!)

697/1200

Weather is starting to get cooler here in NY ... which historically has been when I stop running (or at least stop running outdoors). I've got some cold weather gear (including a pair of fleece-lined leggings) that should help ... I'm hoping that's enough to keep me motivated to run in the cold, but we'll see what happens when the weather gets into the teens (we had a lot of that last winter). For now I'm just focusing on going out running twice a week ... and having a nice, hot cup of coffee when I get back!

Happy Friday!

SarahDisney - your post about running in the cold makes me smile. I think about warm food/beverages when I run in the cold as well. For me the weirdest thing about running in the cold is that somehow I end up sweaty and feeling chilly all at the same time.

No color changes today. But I feel really good about heading into the weekend!

50% is getting closer with every single minute.

TGIF! 45 min run this morning.... 405/1400

Come on team! We can do this! :cheer2: And I humbly ask for your patience while I try to reach 50%. It probably won't be until next week.

The week started off so good but having a day off on Tuesday threw me off! Only 55 minutes to report since then :(

I did just get a fitbit though so I hope to get a boost of motivation anytime now! LOL

36 minutes of cardio yesterday.

I worked late today. The leaders for the student run musical had to staple all the document packets together for next month's start to the production of the show! We had 600 packets completed in about an hour. Not bad! These two shows are a competition with each other and the team who finished the correctly completed packets first received bonus points today. The best part is...they're all done, yay! :)

I have some good news to report...I actually had a weight loss this week!! I lost 0.8!!! Almost a pound, yayyy! I know it doesn't seem like a lot but I was so happy to see that loss this morning. It's very encouraging and tells me that what I'm doing is right. Looking forward to celebrating our 13th anniversary this weekend...tomorrow with the whole family and Sunday DH and I are going out to brunch, just the two of us. Our actual anniversary is Tuesday so I got some lamb to make a nice lamb stew in the slow cooker for dinner that night. It's my happy medium...the slow cooker will do the job while I'm at work all day, so I don't feel like I'm actually cooking on my anniversary! ;)
Well, I'll be preparing the noodles before we eat, but that's minimal effort. I can't believe how quickly 13 years flew by!

I ordered groceries from Fresh Direct, being delivered tomorrow. My sister swears by Fresh direct, and I just don't have the time this weekend to go food shopping. DH is working tomorrow until 1:00 and we are leaving at 4:00 to celebrate with the family. Squeezing in food shopping in between wouldn't be fun (rushing and all) so I took the plunge and I'm trying Fresh direct. My order is scheduled to arrive between 12 and 2 tomorrow afternoon. My sister says I'll get addicted lol.

That's about all for now...the boys got great reports at parent/teacher conferences, DS9 had his second rehearsal yesterday for wizard of Oz and I'm just very happy it's Friday! :)

721/1400

A short walk yesterday and 92 min run/walk today.

bangzoom...so interesting to hear about the theater production. We have no theater experience in our family, so its all new to me. Happy Anniversary too!

sarah - thanks for the cheering and rah rah! :goodvibes

Linda...I totally get the not walking with wet hair...especially if it's cold out.

hmack - woohoo, you made it thru the week :cheer2:
