You're a National Treasure - Nov. Exercise Challenge

Good morning...good morning...good morning!

Happy Saturday to you!

congratuations to our newest color changers!

swissfamilyrobinson turned true blue!

and lisah0711 joined team orange!

Hope you all have a restful day, or productive day or some combination there of or whatever kind of day you hope to have.

Did you know that as a team we're already - ALREADY! - at 17.06%?? You know what that's got me thinking about right?? Can we turn Team Orange when I do my tally on Monday? Wouldn't that be AMAZING?

I will admit to being a little sleepy this morning and we all know that, "A dream is a wish your heart makes, when you're fast asleep". But I think it's doable, don't you??

336/1000

69 minutes this morning of cardio and strength/abs with the stability ball.

Waiting for my poached egg to be finished poaching, then hitting the shower before bringing my son to his first Wizard of Oz rehearsal. So proud of my munchkin! :)

Well, maybe you all can kick my butt into gear for my weekend plans. I'm supposed to run a local 10 mile race on Sunday. I didn't train perfectly, but I did run 10 miles two Sunday's ago and really only missed one training run this week due to this stupid cold. But this cold is driving me nuts and it's not going to be warm (ie, below 40!) and I really am torn. I want to do the race. But I don't want to be miserable during it either. I went and picked up my race packet and swag today- gloves, socks, gel packs, shirt, and a zippered bag along with coupons and rice and a fuel of some sort. Major props to this race! It's a north face shirt! Anyhow- I'll probably do the race. I'm too stubborn not to. I'm sure I'll regret that at some point during and probably immediately after but then I'll forget and be happy and sign up for another! Otherwise, DS, DH and I are going to see big hero 6 on Saturday. :)

The funny thing is that stubbornness, many times, leads to a lot of determination to achieve goals. I think the best thing is to try it, but also listen to your body. When something doesn't feel right, it probably isn't right for you. Sounds like you're well prepared and definitely motivated! Best of luck, can't wait to hear about it!

A www that's awesome - you'll be one proud momma watching the performance.

Yup stubbornness is what does it for me a lot of times!

We are kicking butt this month!

Ok peeps- I've officially decided not to run. They sent out a hypothermia warning yesterday and while I know I would dress appropriately etc, I don't want to get worse sick for the upcoming races I really want to do, a busy time for me at work, along with the holidays, and our surprise Disney trip! So I am going to pretend I'm "deferring" to next year and just jump on my treadmill for a nice training run tomorrow morning instead. Wimpy, possibly, but hopefully more responsible than wimpy. It was a really tough decision tho! Sometimes not running is harder than running!

Sometimes. :)

That being said- I did 60 grueling strength training minutes last night, so I'm at 120/1400 now. Will be back tomorrow to add more to the team orange effort!

399/1500

That's a swim and a walk yesterday. Today I plan to mow the lawn and then start chopping on the apple tree again. If DH gets up before it gets too late I'll put a load of laundry on the line. I's too cold for it to dry completely, but some is better than none. And people sleeping is another problem with doing laundry. How can I go into your room without waking you up? It's worse when DS1 is home cuz his head is literally on the other side of the wall from the washer! :listen: But at least I have a W/D in my house!

For our anniversary DH and I had pizza and tried to see Maleficient on Redbox but they didn't have it. We just flipped between some sports. Then we went to the yummiest dessert place in town and brought home cake slices. We were nice and bought something for DS2 so he was a super happy camper when he came home from his last football game/marching band ever. I think he likes being a senior. :rotfl2:

And since we're bragging about kiddos...He made a national choir and will be singing in Utah in February!

It's so amazing what everyone can accomplish...being in a play, running a race with a cold, making costumes, getting out there and being active! Way to go team. :cheer2:

ETA: Figment1990, take care of yourself first! Nothing wrong with not freezing to death while sick!

Sounds like everyone's having a good start on the weekend. I ran the jungle jingle this morning and even PR'd with my DD's help. Yea, but that means I only have 36 min to report this morning. Now we're trying to chill till tonight's race. :)
274/1600

Good luck MRS AR running the W&D tonight! :yay:

Figment1990, kudos to you for taking care of yourself! :flower3:

glss1/2fll, congrats to your DS for making national choir! :cool2:

30 minutes walking and 75 minutes run/walk this morning for a total of
440/1000.

Let's turn this team ORANGE! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

449/1400

My guest for the weekend is a big time runner, so she's been whipping me into shape (no where near that, but headed in that direction) for my half at the end of the month. We did 80 minutes run/walk yesterday and 107 minutes today.

Good job everyone on your efforts! An especially good time with the holidays coming to be working on staying in shape and burning those calories. :yay:

MRS AR - hope you're loving your trip and have a great run this evening. Congrats on the PR this morning! You go girl!

I'm back ... lots to catch up on.

Monday: 103 minutes walking
Tuesday: 82 minutes walking
Wednesday: 90 minutes walking
Thursday: 72 minutes walking
Friday: 32 minutes walking
Saturday: 20 minutes walking

New Total: 481/1200

Now I have to go back and read through to see how everyone else is doing ...

whoa! busy day on the board! I LOVE it.

31 minutes for me - mostly abs and arms.

Figment1990 - it sounds like you made a good decision for you, and I commend you for that. Sometimes it's hard to say 'no' to things, even when it's really in our best interest.

Can't wait to tally up tomorrow morning!!!

WOWEE-KAZOWEE!

Yep. that's pretty much all I have to say after all of yesterday's awesome activities. We've got team members running, swimming, picking heavy stuff up and then putting it back down and just generally being incredible and inspirational.

We've got a ton of supporting and cheering each other going on.

We're finding ways of making it work despite crazy schedules , busy (and totally brag-worthy) kiddos and out of town guests.

WOWEE- KAZOWEE! that's about it.

Did you know that we had 9 team members check in yesterday? Isn't that great? I love it, I love it , I really do!

so....with all that checking in we has some GREAT numbers yesterday. congratulations to the newest members of Team Orange:

178 min of running in the freezing rain, but I loved it. The Osborne lights were fantastic. Hope I can do it again next year. :)

Thanks for hosting. Were you a cheerleader in your younger days? You certainly could have been. :)
