You're a National Treasure - Nov. Exercise Challenge

560/1000

Treadmill and shoveling snow!

We had a lot of snow this week. I guess it is time to get out our winter toys.

Guess What?

Guess What! Guess What! Guess What!!

As a team we are currently at 45.40%! How awesome are we?

And you know what that means!!!???? can you guess???

We may very well hit 50% by tomorrow!! Really!!

How cool is that? That's, pretty darn cool.

Congratulations goes today to:
snels
2TxAgs

for both joining Purple Power.

Personally, last week hit me hard. there were two days that I didn't contribute any minutes - not even one. BUT, here's the thing. We all hit ruts and we all hit obstacles but it's what we do whenwe're in those ruts or after those obstacles clear that really shows what we're made of.

I'm looking for an epic weekend from myself and I CAN NOT wait to update us tomorrow.

You must not let anyone define your limits because of where you come from. Your only limit is your soul - from Ratatouille

76 minutes this morning...total body workout with the stability ball. Plus a little extra stretching.

So the family is surprising us tonight...no idea where we are going to celebrate our anniversary. I know we are going out to dinner, but that's it! I can't wait...they always choose the best places! :)

Time to join the Purple people eaters! ( showing my age!)

Adding 110 more minutes ,,,good gym time and walking. made sure to get that extra ten minutes in....

450/900 so far

Got 40 min this am amidst total chaos. I mean completely not what I had planned for this day, chaos.

445/1440

Hmack. So glad the week of Doom is over for you. Hopefully this week will be better.
Catching up for the past few days.
30 min run Thursday
45 min elliptical
171 min run today. I had hoped to get in 15 miles today but 13 was all I could manage.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend

901/1600

Thanks for hosting.

781/1400

60 min walk today. Y'all continue to inspire me - what a great group to be a part of.:banana::banana::banana:

MRS AR - how did the wet Wine 'n Dine go for you? I'm assuming no ill after effects (blisters, etc) since you've had 2 long runs since. Would you do it again next year? Have you done a night race before this?

56 minutes today for me, which means

450/1000. I'll strive to be a "purple people eatter" tomorrow (but hopefully not the kind with one long horn and one big eye) Right, DisneyBelle99??:thumbsup2

The only problem I had after the half was extreme chafing on my arms. I made a change in my running gear to counteract to cold rain and got unexpected results. No blisters, though. I wear a wool feetures for all my running and they really work for me.

As far as the race goes it was great to run through the parks. The night race mostly caused me pacing problems. It was raining so hard I couldn't read my Garmin so I just ran by effort and that seems to always be slower for me. I hope to repeat this race again next year. I really enjoyed this trip with my daughter.
And for the Jungle Jam I ran my fastest 5 K (with my daughter's help)

707/1000

55 minutes of cardio this morning. So close to the 75% mark!

Unfortunately, I feel a cold coming on. :(
My throat started feeling kind of scratchy last night, and today my nose is running a little. I'm taking Cold Calm...a homeopathic medicine that's supposed to keep a cold under control as long as you take it as soon as you feel symptoms coming on. It has worked well for me in past and I'm hoping it works for me now. This is a very bad week for me to be sick...anniversary on Tuesday, two meetings after school on Wednesday (one with the guy we are buying our shirts from for our show, and one with a producer from a local Brooklyn channel that is filming a documentary about the show I run at my school), and just a full week of work!

Speaking of my anniversary, last night we went to dinner with the family. They surprised us and took us to a restaurant near the beach, which had been closed for two years due to damage from hurricane Sandy. It reopened two weeks ago and it's better than ever! I had a delicious Bronzino fillet with spinach and tomato. Yes, I was good! It was so delicious, the first time I ever tried Bronzino and it's a new favorite! We went to my sister's house afterward for gifts and cake. My sister and brother-in-law went with the traditional 13th anniversary gift of lace and gave us a beautiful lace tablecloth, along with a large box of swiss chocolates because they know we like them so much. My parents are sending us for a fancy dinner out, complete with babysitting! It was a very fun night. DS9 even recited a poem for us, it was too cute!

Today DH and I go to brunch, to a restaurant on Long Island that has been there over 300 years. It's called Milleridge Inn and it also has a small village of these little shops that I love to browse through. Very excited! :)

Stomach bug sweeping the household the past few days but got 60 minutes of walking for a total of 590/1000.

Stay well everyone! :flower3:

I'm glad to get the bug behind us before we had out for WDW on Friday! :goodvibes

Apologies for the late update. we lost connectivity this morning.

2TxAgs - I think that somehow I messed up with your numbers and percentage, but you should be all set now. Go ahead and take a look at page one, if you will, and let me know if anything needs to change.

Congratulations this afternoon to our newest color changers:
DisneyBelle99
Mrs Ar

Who joined Purple Power!

Mrs Ar - that chafing sounds so painful, but it doesn't look like it's slowing you down too much.

Bangzoom - your anniversary sounds lovely. Hope you can keep that cold at bay.

Lisah0711 - sorry to hear about that stomach bug, here's hoping it goes away quickly and you can all recover 100% before Friday.

And in other news....
You're a National Treasure November is at....

(insert drum roll here)

50.02%!!!

Awesome work, everyone! Getting to this benchmark has taken everyone's participation.

Yeah, this was the first time I chafed till I bled. Ruined that raw threads shirt. :(. But all is good now. I love reading all the stuff on this page. Keeps reminding me we all have stuff to power through. It makes every victory that much sweeter.

This weekend I did 2 workouts (plus a little extra to add to Friday) - 140 minutes added for a new "balance" of 580/900. I don't suppose the speed walking from the hotel to rope drop will count in my exercise numbers next weekend, so I'm trying to add a little extra this week. Should add a little more exercise anyway to balance out this weekend's Dole Whips, Monte Cristo sandwiches, Jazz Kitchen beignets.... ;)

lisah0711 - such a short countdown before DW!! Fingers crossed for great health by Friday. :goodvibes

you too... Bangzoom! Good health vibes...:goodvibes

MrsAR - I am super impressed with your ability to continue the race with such terrible chafing!

Congrats to the team for reaching purple power!!!

Slow weekend for me

Today: 10 minutes pilates

707/1200

Hopefully tomorrow I'll be back in the swing of things a bit ... weather permitting (we're expecting rain tomorrow)

52 minutes for me - yoga and a short/brisk walk.

502/1000 minutes = turning Purple Power tomorrow.

all caught up.

All this chatter about Disney trips has given me a dreadful case of Disney-itus. Do you ever get hit with that? You're just minding your own business and then, "wham" you get hit with this overwhelming desire to spend thousands of dollars, jump on a plane and soak up some Disney magic?

slightlyocd - beignets....mmm,mmm!

SarahDisney - good job on the 10 minutes, some days just finding those precious few minutes can be a huge accomplishment!

Hope you all have a great week.

I look forward to seeing some of you becoming great-gray-go-getters within the next few days.

Chafing is the pits! :flower3: You powered through a tough race. :cool2: I carry a little tube of lubricant with me or use my Carmex lip stuff in a bind.

Have a wonderful time at DL! It's my home park and I can't wait to hear all about HMH, IASWH, and the JingleCruise. :santa:

all caught up.

The best cure for Disney-itus that I know is planning the next trip before you return home from the last one -- even if the dates change, it's not feasible, just having something on the horizon helps alot. :flower3:

I use a similar strategy for racing -- must always already be registered for the next race before I start the last one -- keep me from finding myself parked on the couch. ;)

We all survived the stomach bug and should be in good shape to leave on Friday. :yay:

60 minutes walking for a total of 640/1000. :cool2: Trying to change colors before I go. :rainbow:

Keep up the good work all!
