Haha that's so funny! Crewneck comes from the cut of the top of the shirt. It's just like a regular collar. If the sweatshirt has a hood, it's a hoodie. If it doesn't, it's a crew neck. Hope that helps? ​

I love the Wilderness Lodge! We just went back to Whispering Canyon having not eaten there since 2003. My husband and I had dinner there the one night and then our whole family had breakfast one morning. We had been avoiding it because we prefer quieter meals. Both servers we had seemed to sense that we did not want to participate that way. They joked a little bit but kept it to a minimum which we appreciated. Both meals we had were very good. I wouldn't hesitate to go back.

I camped at Ft. Wilderness as a teenager and then we stayed there in 1998 in the cabins when my kids were small. Although it's really nice, I was not fond of the bus service either. First you have to walk to the end of the "loop" you are staying in and then you pick up the bus (it used to be a tram) to the front where you have to get another bus. It always seemed to take F O R E V E R.

I know, it's awful! I don't think it's worth it. I've done it once.. but that's it.

I feel ya on the transportation when you're on a time limit! It always seems like you have all the buses in the world when you can take your time and don't have to run to something. When you NEED a bus, it seems like it takes FOREVER! I'm glad you got to use your FPs, though! I mean, why let them go to waste??

What a fun thing to do, the carriage ride! The campgrounds look very cool! I've seen other pics of the area decked out for Thanksgiving and Halloween. Those folks sure know how to go all out!

AHHHHHH the carriage ride seems like such perfection. How magical. I think that would be so awesome!! I love looking at Christmas decorations as is, so I can imagine that it would be even better when it was practically all Disney themed and AT Disney. Perfection.

And yeah TSM!! Even more yay for awesome DHS friends who give you special fp's good for up to 5 people AND at any ride! I actually had a DHS friend who gave me one every time i went last June, so I know just how exciting it is!! LOVE IT!! DHS is so amazing.

Whispering Canyon Cafe... as I soon as I saw that I immediately thought "KETCHUP!" I swear I feel if I went back to Disney with anyone, it would be tough picking any ADR lol But everything does look good there, I mean any vanilla shake would work for me and the Quinola cakes your mom ordered look good too. Sorry to hear you didn't get dessert, but as you said, always next time.

Oooo... a sleigh ride at Fort Wilderness! I'm excited to hear about this. Love the name of the horse. "Thomas O'Malley, O'Malley the alley cat..." Haha, a shame I haven't seen the movie in its entirety. Anyways, OMG those are some great Christmas decorations though I would've loved to seen the Cinderella Castle set up. I think my favorite is the Santa on the John Deere, so funny, and of course all the Mickeys and Fab Fives are cool in photos too. I will definitely have to try and see this someday.

Ugh, I'm sorry you got stuck waiting around for the bus to DHS. Now I know what resort NOT to stay at. That's awesome though the CM was willing to offer some FPs for you, oh CMs! But at least you got there soon enough for one last ride. Then you get a HIGH SCORE! Wow, you really were channeling all your energy into that last round. I think that score may be double my own high score. Means I got to work harder now on that ride, back to Disney I go! to getting a special FP from your CM friend!

Oh the Top of the World lounge looks so cool! I'm absolutely in love with the Chandelier especially, I want that in my house! And the view is absolutely gorgeous. Must be awesome to watch Wishes from that room. to eating the Magical Cookie Bar right before going to bed, it looks good, must try one of those.

Near me, I have 2 regular ones, an outlet, and then The Disney Store Times Square which replaced (and pales in comparison to) the former World of Disney Store... They sold tons of Disney World merchandise there and the new one does not. I really miss the old one! But the new one is still awesome, of course. Anyway, it's so hard not to spent ALL my money every time I'm even AROUND any of them. Yesterday I was in there and they had new Cinderella luggage!!! It was for kids though, so it was too small to really carry that much... but I still really wanted it.

And YES they have a Haunted Carriage Ride every year.... except this one. Sigh.

Everyone else in my family is currently engrossed in an intense game of Scrabble, and due to the fact I am too lazy at the moment, I decided to do a little trip reporting stuff. I thought I'd throw an update up for you all since it has been a while. I hope you're all having a wonderful week!
Oh and p.s. One year ago today Nat and I surprised Kristen in Disney! I seriously CANNOT believe it has been a whole year already! Such frumpy memories.

Chapter 86: Our VIP Jungle Cruise Expedition
December 30th, 2011

We slept in a little bit today. I planned to get up at 8:30 am but woke up at 7:30 am. I forced myself to sleep for that extra hour, though, so I would be rested.

Dad had a really bad headache this morning so he and Jon didn’t come with us to the parks.

We had some bagels from Contempo Café in the room before we left. I had the plain one and Mom had Cinnamon Rasin.

By 9:40 am we finally left. We walked over to the Magic Kingdom to start off our day!

We headed towards Tomorrowland and grabbed some Space Mountain fastpasses first.

While we were there, it hit me: THE TRIP WAS ALMOST OVER. We only had two full days after this day, and I realized there was some stuff I hadn’t done yet! Mom and I mapped out our plan for the remainder of the trip. It was time to cram, cram, cram!

On our way out of Tomorrowland, I took some Fantasyland Expansion pictures:

We went over to Adventureland with the intention of riding Pirates. However, my Jungle Cruise Skipper friend, Ryan, texted me and told me to stop by the Jungle Cruise. He was working today! He said if we could go over right now, don't go in line but meet him at the exit.

So we got there and he saw us walking up. He called us over and got us on HIS next boat! WOOHOO! He said we had perfect timing because he just got back from break!

We got on the boat at the exit and rode it down to the entrance to pick up the rest of the guests. Ahhh a VIP treatment cruise. I like it, I like it.

We were all hoping to get a good boat of people. Quiet ones are never fun! Ryan said the worst groups are the Brazilian tour groups because they never know what he’s saying!

We were off on our 3 1/2 week journey into the jungle. We waved to the people on the boat dock! We wouldn’t see them for another three weeks! Just kidding… we probably would never see them again!

Ryan was a great skipper! He was super funny and had great timing! He had his jokes down pat! It was so cool hearing someone I knew guiding me on my Jungle Cruise ride!

Our boat was pretty good as far as enthusiasm goes! They all seemed to be into it, so that was awesome.

It was so funny because Ryan talked to us during the temple scene. It was just so weird seeing a skipper go from in character to out of character just like that! It was really cool though! We were special guests on this cruise!

We had a great time and we took a picture before we got off the boat. We said goodbye and thanked Ryan for everything! That was so much fun!

Since we were in Adventureland, I was craving one of my most favorite snacks in the entire world. Can you guess what it was…?

A DOLE WHIP FLOAT, OF COURSE!

Any day is a good day when you start it off with a dole whip

I swear by the vanilla and pineapple twist dole whip float. I absolutely love it. When I was younger I got the plain old pineapple ice cream and it was just too overwhelming for me, so it warded me off of Dole Whips for a while. However, I figured out this little combo and my life was saved and improved by 100%! The vanilla flavor PERFECTLY balances out the extreme fruity flavor if you're not up for a double dose of pineapple. It’s just delicious!! I cannot get enough of these things! They’re so light and refreshing!

We sat in that area/gazebo where we met the most perfect Ariel on our first frump trip. Ahh the memories.

Once we finished, we went over to Main Street USA and looked in the Emporium.

I walked out of there without purchasing anything. Weird, I know.

Then we went over to the Confectionary. I am in LOVE with this sign. I think it's like the cutest thing ever.

Let's torture ourselves and look at some food pictures, shall we?

Mom decided to buy a press pot and coffee while we were there. Sadly, she wasn’t a huge fan of the press pot once she brought it home. It just didn’t work too well.

Back to Main Street USA!

We went to Tony’s Town Square to check in for our 12:10 pm ADR even though it was only 11:50.

So this is the night, it’s a beautiful night, and they call It bella notte… <3

We were seated very quickly and our table was behind the table I sat at when I went to Disney my freshman year with my friend, Jessie! Aww little me.

Our waiter’s name was James!

We started off our meal with a salad. It had VERY good dressing!

I got the chicken parm for my meal. I am a HUGE chicken parm fan and I was very satisfied with this. It tasted delicious. The sauce they use at Tony’s is “molto bene!” (that means “very good” in Italian haha)

Mom got the ol’ classic: Spagetti and Meatballs. She said “it always tastes so much better here!” Doesn’t it, though!? The environment in which your eating can really make all the difference. Especially if that environment is Disney World.

We didn’t get any dessert here. Nothing sounded extremely appealing and I had to save room for my big dinner that night!

Overview of Tony’s Town Square:
Waiter: James
Service: He was quiet and kind of awkward. He did his job, though, and he whisked us through! 3/5
Atmosphere: I love Tony’s! Lady and the Tramp was my childhood movie, so it always makes me so happy when I get to see it come to life. 4.5/5
Food: Delicious! Good old classic Italian food! You really can’t go wrong. 5/5

We left Tony’s and saw that Mickey and Minnie didn’t have a line! So we went right through. However, the picture they took of us was TERRIBLE. The characters were so awkward and we weren't even posed. It was frustrating. For some reason I got really upset about it, so we went back in line to get another picture. There were different CM’s and characters so they had no idea we were back. I still wasn’t fully satisfied with the picture but I got over it and moved on with my life.

After our photo, I asked Mickey and Minnie to pose by themselves. And these pictures COMPLETELY made up for it:

SO CUTE OMG.

I just love them.

Once we exited the building, we watched the end of the “Once Upon a Christmastime” parade - the daytime version!

Yay! I love that you are reporting live from Hilton Head! Makes it that much more magical! I can't wait until your TR about Hilton Head, it looks likes a really nice place to have a family vacation. Hope you guys are having fun! I love Scrabble, and I love it when families get really into board games, such a warm fuzzy feeling! Haha that's awesome that your friend gave you the VIP treatment on your Jungle Cruise, I love that ride, and how the skippers get into their cheesy jokes . When I went to Disney World with my friends in 2010, we went on the Jungle Cruise, and before we set off the skipper was like, "now is everybody ready?" And one of my friends let out this really loud "whoooooo!" Everyone else on the boat had been quiet, haha, so the skipper was like, "looks like we've got an energetic one on this ride!" and throughout the ride he would randomly start talking to her over his intercom. Can't wait for your next update!

I'm sorry you weren't happy with the character pictures! I hate when that happens! I'm glad you were able to get back in line, though! And those last couple of just the love birds are absolutely adorable!!

OMG... of course the worst groups are the Brazilian tour groups! That is the dumbest thing. Like, why do they even go on Jungle Cruise?! It's like "Oh look yall, fake animals." Thrilling. The puns are what make the ride! Then they probably talk about how stupid the ride is when they get off. Ugh.

Jealous you got to see the daytime version of Once Upon A Christmastime! I love that parade but I really feel like it's just MADE for the day time! Everything pops more when you can actually see it hahah.

Ughhh awkward characters make for some less than ideal photos.
I mean I understand they have a rotation and they can't always their 'A' players.
BUT it makes such a difference when your cuddling up and posing with a character and it gets awkward

I KNOW. It's so annoying! Like... they just stand there. It's like... we're in Disney. Put your arm around me! I am not a scary looking person. ​

The ones on their own are adorable though- such a cute couple!!

Sometimes I do have problems with characters which is REALLY weird because I'm not an awkward person when it comes to character interaction. I don't know. They just kinda pose in their own way without putting their arm around me or something. I don't know. It's always the short ones too. Maybe I'm just weird.

You're so welcome! I'm glad you enjoyed it! I am thinking of doing a HHI trip report at this rate - I've been taking notes and pictures! I really want to share this place with you all because not a lot of people know about it! Oh yay, I'm so glad you're following along on instagram! Do I follow you back? If I don't, post on one of my pictures and tell me it's you so I can! It's hard to keep track.

Haha I'm so glad! I thought I'd put another update on the thread since I have it written anyways. I am very excited to write it and tell you guys all about everything! This place is wonderful.
Haha my family is big on board games! And Preston is borderline professional at Scrabble.. so he gave my parents a good run for their money!
