Your most magical memory....

....is really our whole first trip..the girls were 6 and 8 and i had always wanted to take them and had always dreamed about going too( neither husband nor i ever had been but had watched Wonderful world of disney and drooled over DL forever)...i think they could hardly believe we were really there and i remember them walking up to the gate at Mk really slowly, not saying a peep, all nervous and kind of shy which meant they were really excited. then walking under the train and seeing Main st. just totally blew us all away.I am Positve we stopped dead in our tracks and our jaws hit the pavement( no doubt to the irritation of those veterans behind us), then the rest of the trip... husband and i kept looking at each other like "wow can you believe that" at about every turn...the girls all giddy climbing up the steps to eat at Cindrella's castle, the castle at night, just one great thing after the other.

can't wait to see grandbaby's reaction in afew months

My first magical moment, happened when Dan and I were on "Dudley Do-Right's Ripsaw Rapids" at Islands Of Adventure. There was a cast member dressed as a mountain man, as you were heading up the hill toward the last big drop, he saluted us as we headed up the hill. He looked exactly like Dudley Do-Right, and it just gave me a good feeling inside, and that I was glad to be there. My adventureous fiance', Dan, made us go on that ride 4 times in a row, and by the last time we went on, we were "soaked to the skin". But, I'll never forget that magical moment.

Whoa, ok, it's not just MY magical Disney memories that make me cry! It's everyone else's too!! Gosh, Disney gets ya every time!!

I was too young to remember my first time going to WDW, but my most magical memory is of my DD's first time going. We went in August '03 and she had just turned 2 that July. She was very familiar with Playhouse Disney and watched it religiously, but we hadn't pushed Mickey on her as much (she didn't even have a Mickey doll yet :earseek: ). Anyway, we arrive to MK just as they are doing the afternoon show in front of the castle with all of the characters. My DW is holding our DD so she can see and all of a sudden Mickey comes out of the big yellow present. My DD immediately stretches out her arms and hands and starts yelling "Mickey...Mickey....". Me, being the Disney addict in the family, immediately starts shedding a tear (I think there was a lot of dust in the air :rolleyes1 ). My DW sees me and she starts shedding a tear. Meanwhile our DD is still chanting "Mickey...Mickey..." wit her arms outstretched. Luckily I caught it all on video. :goodvibes That night she slept curled up with her first Mickey doll. Another Disney addict born. :earboy2:

My daughter walking for the first time at WDW - we joked that it would be a cliche if she did it, but then she really did! It was so sweet.

I think I remember one thing from every disney trip that I have ever been on. To me they were all magical for different reasons. I remember that my very first Disney trip in 1988 was taken a few months after the passing of my grandmother. It was a chance for my mom to sort of heal, she had been a bit distant after her mothers passing and this trip really brought her closer to all of us. There were about a million things that happend on that trip that my family still talks about. I think my cousin John might just be the reason that I am a disney freak now, not to mention one of the reason my Dad will never go back to Typhoon Lagoon.. HEEHEE..
Every trip after that had its on bit of magic. I took a vacation with just some friends and learned the ins and outs of Disney, then I went with my bestfriend and her family and finally realized that there were plenty of dIsneyfreaks out there. Finally I met my Disney Hubby(definetly a match made in Disney heaven) I came to find out that he was just as big a nut as I was. We had a Disneywedding and have been back 2x a year since we met. We have no plans on ever stopping. Just going other places in addition to Disney. I keep telling my mom that when I have kids she is just going to have to come on vacation with me to watch them.. hee hee. At least until they are about 5..

All of these memories have really got me excited to return in February. This time my In-laws are coming with us (MIL, FIL, BIL, SIL and Neice). My Neice has never been to WDW but absolutely adores Mickey Mouse. I can't wait to see her face when she sees him or any of the princesses (since she and DD are princesses according to their fathers). We will celebrating a birthday, anniversary, wedding and 2 years of good health for my FIL so many wonderful memories will be made on this trip.

Keep the memories coming.......

yah they really MUST need to clean better! :goodvibes

My favorite memories all take place on the same day, my 3yo dughter's first day at WDW. It strted with our entrance to Mainstreet USA. DH is crouched down next to her stroller had the camera focused on Katie to catch her reaction. She is looking around at all the characters, and then she sees it. She turns DH's head, so the camera is pointed toards the castle. Her response was," Don't take pictures of me, silly. Take pictures of the castle. We're in Disney World. You always can see me." Later that night, we went to MNSSHP. Katie dressed up as Cindy. She met Donald and curtsied to him. He took her hand and started twirling her and dancing her around his house. He danced with her for 5 minutes as I was crying. The expression on her face will never be forgotten.

I have countless magical memories, but the best comes from an early trip. We had taken my 2 year old daughter for a day trip in 1996 (first time visit for the whole family) and she was terrified of the characters. She wanted to see them, but once she got near them, she would then back away and start to cry.

Well, we went back a year later for the first multi-day trip and were worried that we would have the same problem with the characters. We saw Tigger right when we were entering MK, with no line around him. My daughter saw him and ran over to him and gave him a huge hug. After her fear of the year before, it made us so happy and we knew the rest of the trip would be wonderful (which it was).

So many memories, but there are a couple that stand out.

Memory one, Me, my parents, my sister, my niece and my DD, who is three at the time, are at the Magic Kingdom. We are going to lunch at the castle and arrive about 10 minutes early for our PS. We check in and decide to go into Fantasyland for a minute while we wait. My dad opts to stay in the waiting are, which we think is empty, with my DD. We return from Fantasyland to find my Dad, but no DD. I ask where she is, mom is panicking, and Dad points around the corner. Seems the lone occupant of the waiting area was Cinderella. Not only had my DD found her, she had taken her blanket and was taking a nap on Cinderella's lap. She's now 12 and when she argues about not having something I merely ask the question "How many girls can say they were rocked to sleep by Cinderella?"

Memory two, my oldest sister's first trip with the "family" to Disney World. We get her to ride RNR which is a miracle in itself. Anyway, we finish the ride, get out of the car and start to leave but sister is just standing around, looking confused. We ask what is wrong and find she has lost the diamond out of her engagement ring. A CM asks what is wrong, trying to get us to move along and we tell him. He proceeds to identify the car we were riding in and, when it returns after it's next pass through the ride inspects the floor. There, just waiting to be found was the diamond from her ring. How it survived a ride on the RNR is beyond me but it did.

Well I don't really remember my first trip because I was in 7th grade and went with my obnoxious cousins so I must have blocked the experience out of my head.

But my first trip as an adult (I was 22) was with my ex and his family in 1997 -- before fastpass and at a peak time (the weekend after Christmas :earseek: ). We were standing in a two-hour line :faint: at Splash Mt. but oddly enough, we didn't care! We were just having the best time, cutting up and being silly; just enjoying each other's company. We didn't care one bit that the line was so long.

Truth be known, I'd still wait two hours to ride Splash Mt. :lovestruc

Well, up until last year my most magical memory was when my father and I were at the World and in one night we went to see the Fireworks at MGM, then Illuminations, then the fireworks at MK, all in the same night. It was so special, and he made sure that I got to see each show, in its entirety, and wouldn't give up.

Last year, knowing how much that night has always meant to me, and how much I love Spectromagic, my husband tried to sort-of recreate this. We did Fantasmic, then rushed over to MK for Spectro just in time to see the Genie and his piano going around the circle. I was disheartened that I couldn't see the whole thing, so my husband, with a sprained ankle, mind you, grabbed my hand and ran all the way up Main Street, over the bridge to Tomorrowland, through Fantasyland, and into Frontierland where we caught up with the exact front of the parade as it passed the General Store. It was lovely.

After Spectro, we saw Wishes (which started like right after because we were at the end of the parade route) and then hopped on the monorail and ran like the Dickens to make it to Illuminations.

The timing that night was perfect - MGM closed at like 6, MK at 8 and Epcot at 9 (or something really similar to that) and I'll be amazed if I can ever recreate that again.

But the truly magical bit was how much my DH was willing to go through to make sure I was able to have that special night again, this time with the other most important man in my life.

My most magical memory would have to be when we (mom, dad, and my brother) were on Splash Mountain at night and right at the beginning where you are not inside the mountain yet we were going very slow around the curve and the fireworks were going off and we had the best view. That, with the songs of SM playing, was the most magical moment. Something I will always look back on and smile.

DD who was crazy about Jasmine (even dressed like her on Halloween) and I were just getting on the Magic Carpet ride when the Genie and Jasmine appeared....Jasmine asked DD to ride with her, she was thrilled. Of course I didn't have my camera.
