Your most magical memory....

Most magical moment hmmm, let me see :scratchin...how 'bout the time when they finally cleaned the old toothpaste off our sink left by previous guests after 7 days? That was pretty magical.

No? Wait a minute I just thought of something even more magical! I finally caught one of those little lizards by hand on our last trip! :cool1:

Oh yeah, and I got engaged there in front of the fountain at Epcot. I guess that was kinda magical too. :wizard:

For those of you saying that the child was irresponsible for not having the shorts, can you tell me how the 14 year old was supposed to get 30 miles away to get his shorts? My beef also isn't that he was punished, but geez it just seems so excessive for forgetting a detention. If I was in charge and a kid forgot a detention, I would assign TWO detentions for the next few days. If they forget a second time, THEN maybe the suspension.

Watching Fantasmic with my DH, DS3, my Sister and her girls 2 and 4. the look on the kids faces so special. It was really a magical experiance and it made me so happy that I wanted to cry.

That was the same trip where they took a few kids into the street to dance in the parade. DS was so shy and afraid of all the characters but gofy took him by the hand and he went with him. We have the cutest picture of him that trip and it makes me smile everytime, it puts the big lump in my throat, that makes me want to cry. Everything about Disney is magical!

Oh wow, thinking about this is making me cry a little. Hmmm... I have to pick 2.

1. Sitting with my family during E-Ticket night eating ice cream, looking on to Main Street where there were about 5 people total. It was like we had the whole park to ourselves and it was the last Disney vacation with the 4 of us before I get married.

2. Getting engaged behind Cinderella's Castle. :)

My most magical memory from our first trip to WDW (in 2001) was driving up & seeing the big Walt Disney World sign. Going there was my childhood dream come true!

But, my all-time most magical Disney memory was when my husband proposed to me next to the castle at Disneyland. The park had just opened, and there wasn't anybody else around. We got married in June, and spent our honeymoon at WDW!

I'd say so far (I've only had one trip) seeing the castle tops it, i waited 24 years to see that castle I do believe I got teary eyed.lol

I think mine was when I took my then 8 year old granddaughter (just her and me). We had just watched Spectromagic and were partway into Fantasy in the Sky when she turned and looked up at me and said "This is the best night of my life!"

My most memorable moment was on our 1st ever trip to WDW in 2000. There was 16 in our party, grandparent, aunts&uncles etc.... We had gone to MK in July for the E ride night, so of course, it was well into the night. We were all sitting in front of the castle waiting for the Mainstreet Electric Parade. There we were, at least 8 rows deep in people. Out of nowhere a GIANT roach flew out of the little oak tree, and landed on this poor fella! :earseek: I have never seen anyone try to get out of their clothes, as fast as he did! :rotfl2: Then..... It flew off, of couse sending everyone into a panic. People were screaming, and then it happened,he landed.... I screamed and pointed "There it is!!!! Its on her back!" Well, nobody knew who "her" was, thus forcing the crowd into a bigger panic. Everyone was jumping up and running. I felt so sorry for that lady, I thought she was going to have heart failure when she saw it on her shirt! :scared1: I didn't really know who to feel sorry for, her or the ROACH! :rotfl: I guess that memory will be with me forever! Hey, for you all that have great parade seats, and someone tries to ruin it by cutting in front of you, try the Roach scream! You'll be surprised how fast you can clear an area!!! :rolleyes1

The first glimpse of the castle as I walk down Main St. always gives me the chills. But my most magical moment was in Dec of 2000. It was my families first trip to the world. We were standing in front of the castle and a huge crowd had formed for a show that was just beginning. Our 2 boys were standing in front of me and my dh was to my right just ahead of me with our daughter on his shoulders- I had just started to tape our first Disney show and then all of a sudden, out of the blue, it hit me like a ton of bricks! An enormous tidal wave of emotion just came over me! In that split second, I realized that after all the months and months of planning we were finally there! I cried my eyes out! I had all I could do to try and compose myself! It was such a wonderful magical feeling! I don't think I will ever forget it for as long I live! Patty

Mine is super easy and it all happened thanks to WONDERFUL cast members!

Last year (Sept. 2 2004) i was getting married at the Swan resort and staying at POP century the night before with one of my bridesmaids and all my best friends from highschool. My then fiance stayed at another resort with my father. I got up at 4am and had my cab waiting for me at 415. My bridesmaid and i snuck out with ALL THE STUFF (gowns, dresses, shoes, underwear, favors, EVERYTHING) and made it to the cab. (I had two getting ready suites for groomsmen and bridesmaids) Well this cabdriver was obviously in a BAD mood and dropped my giant bag of hair stuff on the floor (there went my tiaras!! all safe though!) he picked it up and bridesmaid got into the cab and i ran inside to give that dolly luggage thing back to the cast member (she was soo sweet and wished me luck and all that fun stuff.) well fast forward to 8am with ceremony at 9 and hair and makeup disney team was there and i had just gotten out of the tub. all bridesmaids, grandmothers, mothers were done and it was my turn. My mom started laying out all my stuff and i sat to get my hair done.....YIKESSSS mom YELLS MICHELLE WHERE IS YOUR OTHER SHOE!!!!?!?!

AUGHHH!!! i was missing a SHOE! keep in mind my shoes for my evening gown were a lot shorter since my gown was different, i needed these 6inch heels for this ceremony!! and they were clear slippers (like cinderella) well my hair is done and i am CRYING..so make up cannot be done...i call my friends back at the POP adn they tear my room apart..no shoe..i call the cab company and they send back the cab...mom goes down NO SHOE!!! My gown steamer is on the phone to her shop to find SOMETHING and then KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK......

We open the door and on a cushion (i kid you not) the Valet has my shoe!! it was my own cinderella moment (alas no prince to bring it as he is probably sitting in the other suite having a good ole time!)! The valet tells me that the cast member at the POP found it in the entry way where the cabbie had dropped my bag! and she called the Swan and they sent a TOWNCAR for my SHOE and had it brought over!!!

MY SHOE HAD A TOWNCAR THAT MORNING AND I HAD A CAB!! haha

Sorry for such a long story...

I think I get a new favorite magical moment every time I go to WDW, so my new favorite moment is from my most recent trip. We took my little sisters this time (who had never been to WDW - or anywhere else really - before this time) and it was the best vacation ever.

My favorite moment was in the swimming pool at the Boardwalk on our first night. We had just gotten back from MGM and were playing in the pool around 10:30pm. My sisters are teenagers and always make me revert to my teenage days, so we were all pretty giggly and just having a great time. All of a sudden we heard some music and noticed fireworks going off at MGM - we could see Fantasmic from the pool!!! We all swam over to the edge of the pool and just floated while we watched the fireworks - it was really incredible. I think it was just the overall disbelief that I was actually at my favorite place with my sisters and knowing that we still had a whole week ahead of us!

replied to the wrong post! :rotfl2:

I thought your reply was a bit HARSH for this thread (as well as, of course, it didn't make any SENSE).

SOLUTION:
Why don't you just go back to it and "Edit" it into a reply that would be a REAL answer to this thread?

Being able to Edit a post has saved me a couple of times.

Last Oct. was our (Me, DH and DS, then 4) first trip to WDW. :wizard: The feeling we had when we walked onto mainstreet USA and the look on our son's face was priceless. :sunny: We also loved sitting outside at Casey's at 10:30 PM during MNSSHP eating hot dogs with our son and just how perfect it all was. The whole trip was so magical. We also ate at CRT breakfast that morning and they had the table all dolled up for our wedding anniversary and we got a special certificate too. Well, we are going back this Oct. 2 now because we all fell in love with Disneyworld!

My most magical Disney World memory:

My first trip to WDW came in 1997- only 3 weeks after my dad underwent a radical neck dissection for newly diagnosed metastatic thyroid cancer. The surgery left him battered and his voice hoarse (they gave him a 20% chance of ever talking again post-op). This was a trip that was the result of three years of planning- and at the time we thought it may have been our first (and last) trip as a family. :sad1: My dad (who was initially less-than-thrilled with the idea of going to Disney World) insisted we ALL go as a family. The one moment that stands out in my mind about that trip was watching Spectromagic for the first time and looking over at my dad sitting in his wheelchair. I remember listening to the music (quietly crying) and saying a small prayer that everything would be alright.

Fast forward to the very next year- 1998- and we once again were standing in the same spot watching Spectromagic- AS A FAMILY. My dad had undergone two more surgeries and was doing well and in remission. Spectromagic was nearing the end (...~"On this magic niii-iiight"~...) and I turned around to look up at my dad only to realize he had tears streaming down his face. He looked at me and mouthed- "I told you we'd make it back"- All I could do was rest my head on his chest and cry. We really had made it back.

My dad continues to do great- I'm now married- and my parents are returning to the world with us in March. I'll always look forward to watching Spectromagic with my "daddy". And that, is my most magical Disney memory!

ok this one did me in, i am a puddle onthe floor

My most magical memory was from my first trip in 1990. It was the first trip for the whole family, DH and I and our three kids - then 9,7,5 years old. We spent most of the day in MK and decided to go to Epcot for the laser show. Before we left MK we put our video camera - remember those huge "shoulder" cameras? - and some other things in a locker under the train station. We planned to stop and pick up our things after we left Epcot, but did not realize that the MK closed earlier than Epcot. We didn't know what to do when the monorail went right by MK without stopping. After riding the whole monorail route two times, we got off at the TTC, found a CM and explained our dilemma. Our problem was soon solved when a driver took an entire monorail train - with only our family on board - to the MK, escorted me to the lockers to retreive our things, and let the kids ride back to the TTC up front with the driver. DH and I were astounded how easily and cheerfully someone helped us and we were never scolded for our mistake. That trip started my love affair with WDW! DH and I are planning our next trip for 2006 - no kids, they are grown now.

A more recent magical moment was last summer - DH and I went alone for the first time - and we saw the opening ceremony at MK. I didn't even know they did that! I tried hard not to let DH see me "tearing up" so he wouldn't make fun of me!

I have a special tradition that's all my own and gives me the Magical feeling every time.

Whenever I'm on a solo trip to WDW, I set one night aside to stay at Epcot through Illuminations and leave late, after the crowds die down. I make my way out past Spaceship Earth and past the monorail station, to a little sidewalk that leads to the first section of the parking lot, right under the monorail track. I go about halfway down this sidewalk and stop - and when the monorail whooshes past with all its strobes flashing, in near silence because I'm the only person within 100 yards, that's the most Magical moment of my whole trip.

But I had a really unique moment of Magic last December, when I showed up to MouseFest in total secret and surprised my friend Mike Scopa at MGM (one of many surprises that week!) Here's an excerpt from my trip report:

The Great Scopa Surprise

As I arrived at Epcot, around 10:30am, I whipped out my trusty cell phone to call MikeS and see if I could figure out a way to meet him, wherever he might be in the parks that day. As far as Mike was concerned, I couldn't make it to MouseFest and was eating my heart out in Baltimore.
As luck would have it, Mike was behind the wheel when I called, so his lovely wife Carol answered, "Hello Will!" (I love caller ID!)

"Carol," I said, "I'm calling you from in front of Spaceship Earth. DON'T TELL MIKE! I want to meet up with you guys and surprise him. Where are you guys going to be today?"

Doing her best to remain nonchalant and not give me away, Carol replied that they were on their way to the Belz outlets and would be going to MGM afterward; they planned on arriving around 11:30.

"Okay, I'll be waiting inside the MGM turnstiles at 11:30. Tell Mike I had to go back to work and get him to call me back when you arrive at MGM so I'll know you're coming!"

We said our goodbyes and I made my way through Epcot, stopping to ride Mission: Space and Test Track on the way to International Gateway, where I took a Friend Ship launch to MGM. I arrived a few minutes late at around 11:40, hoping that the Scopas hadn't arrived yet, and hurried through the gates to stand in front of the Crossroads info kiosk.

As luck would have it, the Scopas were running late as well, since Carol had to bodily drag Mike out of the Character Warehouse, so it wasn't until about 12:05 that my phone rang.

"Hi Mike. Where are you right now?"

"We're just getting off the parking lot tram at MGM."

Perfect, thought I, they'll be coming through the turnstiles in about 2 minutes.

But they didn't. Mike kept talking about the weather, and the stuff they had seen and experienced since they arrived at WDW on Tuesday; this was typical, since I always grill him mercilessly about every detail when he's there and I'm not. But he wasn't coming into the park. A few minutes later, Carol and Holly appeared before me; I cupped my hand over the phone and said, "Where the heck is he?"

"He's standing at the bag check. He doesn't walk while he's on the phone."

But Mike kept on talking. Carol took the opportunity to snap a picture of me, talking to Mike from only 100 feet away. Normally I hang on every word when he's talking to me from WDW and I'm at home, but this time I was itching to tell him, "Shut up and go into the park!" At one point he even noticed the excessive background noise coming from my end and asked, "Are you in the car?"

"No," I replied, grinning at Carol, "but I am outside!"

After a good ten minute conversation, I finally had to tell him, "Mike, I'm sorry but I've got to hang up. I'll have to call you back in about a half hour, okay?" We said our goodbyes and I replaced my phone in my utility belt.

And STILL he didn't come into the park!

Carol went over to the turnstiles and looked out; she reported that Mike was putting his phone away and adjusting his waist bag. Finally, after what seemed like an eternity, Mike approached the turnstile and fed it his pass. Carol stood just inside with her camera at the ready, and Mike stopped just inside the turnstile with a cheesy grin and cocked head to pose. But he still didn't see me.

He looked around and spotted Holly, who was standing about 6 inches away from my left arm, and began walking toward her.

But he still didn't see me.

When he got about 10 feet in front of me, I yelled out, "Hey Mike, should I call you back now?!"

The expression on his face was priceless.

hi all,
i could not wait to have children to take them to wdw.me and dw would go on many trips there childless, then my dream came true in sept 17 2004,as we rode the bus from the resort to the magic kingdom.it was early afternoon,we had just arrived from mco.we were the only ones on the bus.me,dw,ds age 4.he starts screaming look the castle, the castle.he was never there before but saw a million pics of the castle.i did'nt even know he knew what it was but he knew.his face was lit up and he was so happy.all he kept saying thats where we are going right?look the castle.the castle.i had tears of joy running down my face, but no surprise if there is one place on earth that can make a grown man cry out of joy its disney!!thats my happy/special memory and it always will be,until of course we go back.have a great day all.

I have three that really stand out...First, on my children's first trip the very first thing we did was breakfast at the Crystal Palace. My then 18 month old son was a big Pooh fan. We had one side of the restaurant just about to ourselves (despite the fact that it was Christmas week!). He went nuts just seeing the Pooh topiaries just inside the front doors. When he saw the "really real" Pooh heading to our table we thought he was going to tip his highchair over in his excitement! We set him down on the floor and he took off running for Pooh! Pooh knelt down and held open his arms. Watching my son literally run into Pooh's arms and saying "my Pooh!" over and over was the most magial start to our vacation!

Next, my kids and I took a "Mom and boys only" trip to meet up with two friends and their kids in October of 2004. My kids and I arrived a day earlier than everyone else. After a day at the Magic Kingdom we went back to our room at the Polynesian to go swimming. As we were getting out of the pool I realized it was just about fireworks time so I wrapped the boys in towels and we walked out to the Polynesian beach and found ourselves a hammock. Laying in a hammock all cuddled up with my kids and watching the Fantasy in the Sky fireworks from Mickey's Not So Scarry Halloween Party with no one else around us, like it was just for us was incredibly special!

But my #1 Magical Memory so far happened last Christmas Eve. We arrived at Fort Wilderness late Christmas Eve with my parents in their RV. Sine we had been in the RV all day the kids had taken very long naps and were wide awake! My husband and I decided to take the boys to the Magic Kingdom while my parents set up camp. We walked under the train station less than 5 minutes before the start to Spectromagic. We found front row seats just in front of the Christmas tree and watched the parade. After watching the parade we zipped down Main Street as everyone else was leaving. We hit all of our favorite rides with next to no lines at all! At the midnight park closing the kids were still going strong (lots of energy to burn off!) so we hung out letting the crowds waiting for transportation die down. We walked around taking photos and looking for signs of Santa up in the sky. As we were headed down Main Street we had to stop as the offical "kiss goodnight" started playing. We watched and listened to the narrator talk about Walt's vision for the parks. At the end, after the official goodbye Mickey Mouse said "and by the way...Merry Christmas!" When we turned around we saw Mickey's special Christmas surprise for us....it had begun to SNOW on Main Street USA! The dreary weather combined with the late hour meant the park was not crowded to begin with and Main Street USA was now near empty. Watching my children twirl in circles and play in the "snow" giggling non-stop with Main Street all decked out for Christmas in the "shaddow" of the Christmas tree with only a handful of people around us is a Christmas memory I will treasure forever!
