These were the themes on the morning of fathers day! We all woke up in a great mood, despite a not so great nights sleep!
the kids and I were beyond excited to give Bob the gifts we got him for fathers day! Last year i think we thanked him for being such a great guy, but after the year we have had and made it through, we decided we would document it all and give him a photo book from shutterfly!
Well, let me just tell you, I got the reaction I wanted! tears and smiles! he absolutely adored the book and I think his heart grew a couple extra sizes that day!
It really set the tone for the day! It was like his eyes were seeing things in a brand new new, official way! Heck yes, I am a a dad to these kids kinda way! It was really nice!
Once that was done, he opened the chocolates..and idk why I didn't take a picture, but it was awful lol! One solid block of mish moshed chocolates... oops! The thought counted though and he was excited...
btw, who buys a box of chocolates for someone when you are going to Hershey park.. DER, me!
With everyone happy, Bob decided to set off to the lobby and grab some free continental breakfast, while I showered!
Again, no pics.. wth was I thinking?? Anywho, it consisted of english muffins, oj,oatmeal, donuts, danishes, fruit and cold cereal! Not bad! it hit the spot !
Bob quickly showered after me, and we were on our way!
Our friends that we were there with had set off to go to Sunday mass that morning then brunch at the diner for fathers day. So while they were doing that we decided not to wait and just head over to the park!
I felt like we had to make up a lot of time, since the day before was so stinky!
I'm not sure of exact orders of things, but I know we stopped to do this :
Which reminds me! We let Bob choose what we would do first this day!
he decided he wanted to visit the zoo!
Hershey is pretty great! In your ticket, it includes admission to the regular park, zoo and water park!
So off to the zoo we headed!
Although tiny, the zoo was awesome and a great way to start the day!! For some reason the kids were grumpy today, and we decided it was time to take a break and get some lunch!
I forget the name of the place now, but it was pretty yummy, BUT another huge reminder of why I LOVE the
ddp!! We paid over $30 and all we got were nachos, mozz sticks, and an order of penne with red sauce, and refilled our 2 souvenir cups for $1.00 each!
I will say this though, the nachos were huge and delish! Bob and I split that and were both stuffed!
again, no pics... don't hate me please!
After that we saw a ride that just scared the bejesus out of me, and I couldn't believe it, but Bob went to go on it and Jack said, can I go too???
Despite me being scared, I said Ok, sure....
OK, this picture does NOT even explain how scary it looked to me, or how high up in the air it went! I still can't believe Jack asked to go on it with out hesitation!
this is them after.. Bob said even HE was a little scared after riding it lol! Jack was fine though!
I can't recall either, but at some point, perhaps before the zoo, or just right after, we all went on the Comet, which is a roller coaster at Hershey!
Both Kayla and Jack did NOT want to go on.. I'm that mean mom that made them. Correction, awesome mom that made them, cause they LOVED it! I have to admit, even i was scared! It was a lot of fun though!
Ok, so after the big scary, high up in te sky, spinny ride, I told Bob that he should go on the roller coaster Bear. There was no line, and it was fathers day, and he LOVES coasters!
He had to be persuaded, but decided to go ahead and do it!
While he was gone, I took the kids into the arcade. It was big, and if you wanted, you could drop a TON of money!
Kayla wanted to take some pics while we were waiting for Bob and got this funny one:
uhm... that was the awesome prize jack won while we dropped $5.00 in the arcade
She had also taken a shot of him in action, full on gaming mode!
After this, or during this, I got a text from my friend, they were right by us!
No sooner did Bob walk over, did we see our friends, who decided they too, wanted to take advantage of the no lines on the roller coaster! So off they went, 2 more times! i was more than happy to do this for Bob!
He sacrifices so much for the kids and I, it was nice to see him have some fun!
Looking back at pictures, I seemed to have missed that we had also ridden the scrambler first thing that morning, and then the adult swings... remember that fear thing ? the thing i said Kayla had to try something and I was supposed to set good examples and try things I was scared of.. well, I hated the looks of the adult swings! But I went on them! Honestly, for the first few seconds I was having an almost break down anxiety attack, but I breathed through it!
