Your life just fell apart & came back together, what are you going to do next? TR UP!

When we have driven down from PA, we make sure to pack the bathing suits and sunscreen in a different bag (that is easy to get to), this way if our room is not ready, we head to the food court, eat some lunchand go swimming. DH (who has driven) usually naps in a lounge chair..I swear that man can sleep anywhere! My kids LOVE the pool, sometimes I wonder if they rather just go swimming the entire trip!

We prefer our room to be ready as well, but this has worked the days it hasn't been!

I agree with all of this! I figured that is what I would do.... i think i am just thinking too much :rotfl:

Hey yall! again.. you still here :D Hope so!! I am going to post my day 2 plans, then do a tiny little Hershey Park TR~!

Since I looked back at my last update and almost fell asleep, i will add pics this time :D!

Day 2

Today we will start our morning off a little later than most faithful disers probably would!

We have ressies at Crystal Palace @ 9:30! I didn't want to shock Bob on our first full day there after driving the day before, so i figured this is early enough that I won't feel like I am missing too much!

I have to admit, unlike most disers, I do not love CP. Not sure why, but just like GF the decor and atmosphere does nada for me... I do like how well lit it is, but otherwise, nada. The food has never been much to rave about either. Not bad, just nothing spectacular. Service has been good once and meh second time. I do however LOVE the puffed french toast aka fried donut! I wish they would put other characters either here or replace the pooh characters at other places. It annoys me that they are everywhere!

Anywho, as promised pics!

Although I may not adore the food here, it is a great way to get into the MK nice and early and empty! and honestly, we have always had stellar character interaction!

This year we will be going back for breakfast and even trying it for dinner on the night of mnsshp!

Anwyho, back to day 2! Honestly, it is our first day in parks, so I am totally going with the flow and gonna see what Bob and the kids say! I'm just so excited to be going there with my kids again and finally Bob!

My friend Michelle and her fam will be arriving this day and we have dinner ressies with them at CRT! I know this place gets a ton of bashing, but I just love it. The food has def gone done in quality though since our first trip in 2005, when I not only once, but twice walked up with out an adr and got seated immediately! I had the dining plan that year as well, and man was that a great deal! CRT has AMAZING food then, and I WISH someone had a copy of the menu!

Since then we went in 2008 and 2009. In 2008 they had an awesome soup and pretzel bread with this honey mustard butter that was to DIE for! 2009 they did not have either :( But the food was still noms. Anyone else think that the dessert options at CRT blow? In 2005 it was awesome, but not since!

I am VERY curious to see how this new menu is.... if it has gone down even more, I may have to reconsider my first MK night dinner!

Now onto pics!

CRT 2009

I have like no pics of this day of just my family. My friend Kelly was with us and I must have been busy, because I have NO food pics either.. wth?? Bad me!

But, I had a cute jack pic :)

So there you have it, there it is... day 2 there, but day 1 in the parks! I'd love to have more details, but honestly, I am just so excited to be at MK with the loves of my life that I don't care what happens!

With that said, I would love to sneak in a Dole Whip! lololol! Also, we are all super stoked to have Bob try the Buzz ride! We are all gamer/competitive nerds, so this is up all our alleys!

Next Up Hershey Park mini TR, day 3 and check out day 1 again, I added pics!!

These plans are looking great!! I know you're not too impressed with CP, but I love it...although if I'm honest, I might just like it for the bright light and getting into the park early, too;).
We've never had CRT for dinner, but that's where we're going our first night. I hope it doesn't disappoint! Love all your pictures from past years!

Love seeing the older pics

Your kids were so little

I can so relate

They grow up so fast :goodvibes

I think it's a great idea to start a bit later on your first day, especially after all that driving the day before. Good way to ease Bob into it, though I have a feeling he's gonna have a blast and be ready to hit rope drop pretty soon. ;)

The start of Day 2 looks good - except it's not where you want to eat:goodvibes It's good of you to sacrifice for your kiddos! Love the CRT flashback - too bad you say the food has gone downhill - I've never eaten there - I have an aversion to getting up at 4am to be on hold for an hour to get an ADR:rotfl2: I guess I might try online for my grandaughter next time.

Your trip is getting closer!:woohoo:

I think you will like it! The food isn't awful, I guess just pricey for what it is? and service can be hit or miss. I'm so wrapped up in being at Cindys castle that it doesn't bug me, and the food I have eaten has been quite noms..they just keep changing it!

I know you can :( I hate it!

I'm glad you got where I was going with that :rotfl:

Its not that I didn't want to eat there, I don't hate it, its just not my fav. It does however get us into the park that day. Once we eat there is no more travel, which for me will be great!

as for crt, I still love it, but i'm scared about this years menu!

I interrupt this regularly ( and by regularly, I mean, whenever I find an ounce of motivation) scheduled PTR with a mini TR of Hershey Park!

Some months ago, Kaylas BFF's family invited us t go to Hershey Park with them. I didn't think it would be possible, as hello, we had a HUGE WDW trip planned for September. The mom, my friend Stacey, told me that her whole family was going, and because of this, she was getting a group rate discount! Well, the discount was HUGE, almost half off ticket price! I crunched the numbers, and looked up the hotel they were staying at and immediately called Bob.. he said, cool , do it. Did I mention how much I loves this man?? he is SO go with the flow, lets have a good time!

I called Stacey back and she said cool , I"ll put everything on my credit card.. double awesome... I now had time to pay this thing off!

This also worked out awesome because it was fathers day weekend, and this year I really wanted to do something nice for Bob! I know he is not either of my children's father, but man, he has been more of a dad to these kids than their bios ever have! He is literally the definition of father/daddy! Both kids know this, but Kayla especially after being dumped on her *** by John!

It was settled, we were going there on Saturday, spending the night and coming home late Sunday! So we thought!

My friend Stacey, Kaylas bff's mom and their whole fam were going down Friday and staying until Sunday. Bob and I both had work, so that was a no go. She did say however that Kayla could join them Friday night!!:cool1: She was STOKED! Normally I am pretty strict about things like this, but we have gotten so close to her bff's family that i was completely comfy with it.. til she left and I cried cause shes so big now..wahhh!

I didn't really cry.... but man, I thought about it! Her whole life flashed before my very eyes. I instantly realized, (for the millionth time this year) my baby is 10..when, why, how..whaaaaaat? Like shes going to 5th grade, shes going places alone without mommy, she doesn't need me as much as she used, and at times doesn't want me :scared1: Time is cruel. So I did what any other self respecting mother would too, I took my youngest, wrapped him up in a blanket all swaddled like and rocked him back and forth, and said, heres my baby , mommys baby. You'll stay little for me, right?

That last part may or may not be true.

Moving on... After she left, I was not feeling well, not because of her, but I just hadn't been feeling great that week. Normally I would have had luggage by the door, lists of things and places to go, the whole nine yards, but tonight I did not. I was working and when Noah went to sleep, I snuck out the suit case and then lost all motivation. He looked all cozy, I wanted to be all cozy! So cozy I made myself, on my couch.

Until Bob came home from work right around 11:45 pm. He asked if I had packed... uhm..nokindasuitcaseisoutbutiwastired. Then he went in the bedroom and organized the mess I had made :)

I went in after he was done and reorganized what he had done :) Then we went to sleep.. I think?

Next morning I was up bright and early, before the alarm even! Which I believe was set for 6 am?? My friend Stacey had purchased the tickets and we were supposed to meet her at the Hershey main gate by 9:45 am for 10 am park opening.

I have never been to Hershey and Google maps said it would take about 2-2.5 hours to get to. The plan was to be on the road by 7 am. Surprisingly we were out the door and on the road by 7:30 am! NOT too bad! i thought for sure we were gonna be leaving super late! I was proud of myself, but even more proud of Bob! I think he will handle Disney World just fine.... at least the first week :rotfl:

The ride there was uneventful, and I didn't take pics of anything really :/ Believe it or not, we did not see any signs for Hershey Park on the pa highway... like, not even when we got off the exit. Once off the exit we saw a small one. Maybe this is not shocking but I thought there would be signs all over the place trying to pimp it out.

*Side note- We stopped at Wawa (think 7-11 for you non tri-state area people) and got breakfast. I want to say with 3 breakfast items, 2 coffees and 3 drinks, it came to $17.00?? Just adding this in for those of you considering going!

Once we were off the exit we found Hershey pretty easily! parking was pretty darn simple too, but it reminded me for Disney, just how long the stupid things take! Parking, getting out, sunblocking, getting all the bags, walking to tram. All of this took up time. We got to the gate I'd say by 10:20 or so? Not too bad I suppose! But again, good reminder for Disney and how long it will take to drive from place to place, get out walk to, etc....

First pic, on the tram
004.jpg

006.jpg

We got to gate and had just missed Stacey, so we had to wait for her to get back.

She got back, handed us our tickets and then we parted ways accidentally! Then the texting game started, after about 20 mins we finally found Staceys husband who had Kayla! Man was she having a blast but was super happy to see us!

So I'm sure you all remember that I do not fly! I also mostly do not like roller coasters, rides that spin, rides that spin and go a million feet in the air, or things like ski lifts... you get the picture?!?

Well, first thing we walk by is this thing called the "sky view". It is like a ski lift type ride, that just goes around in a circle and you can see the whole park. these things TERRIFY me! I hate that it is on one thick cord. I avoid these at all costs. EVERYONE wanted to go on this damn thing. SO trying to set a good example and not pass my irrational fears to my children, I went on it. I hated it. But, I went on it!

excuse the sweat on my face.. it was hot and I was scared to death... hence that ridiculous look on my face.. Bob always captures me so beautifully....
011.jpg

Kayla and her friends totally loved it! Can I tell you, I was having a heart attack that she was on this thing alone... lame I know.
014.jpg

019.jpg

Surprisingly I made it off this ride alive! OK, obviously that is not surprising, but I have to tell you, it felt like we were on this thing for an eternity!

After that we met up with some more of Stacey's family and bob got to go on his first BIG coaster of the day! As i mentioned, I do not do big coasters.. just wussy ones! Although, I do plan on trying Rockin Rollercoaster!:scared:

039.jpg

I think this coaster was called Storm Runner. That thing took off so fast and droppped like woah! Bob said it was awesome and gave 2 huge thumbs up!

So based on pictures and what terrible memory I have, we decided to part ways with Staceys family, although we took her nephew and her friends daughter. Nephew was 8, and the little girl was around 10 or 11. I can't recall if it was at this point or a little bit later, but we decided to go on Trail Blazer, which reminded me of a tamer BTMR! Jack was TERRIFIED and it took a TON or coaxing, but he went on it and LOVED it! There was no line, so we went on time..after time..after time..after time!!Until I couldn't stand the heat anymore and said lets go get our suits on and hit the Boardwalk! Hershey now has a water park, and I an't resist water parks!

So Bob and I, and the 4 kids set off for the Boardwalk. By this point it was almost 2pm... and we were starving.

We changed into our swim attire, and got a locker for all of our stuff. the locker was $15.00:scared1: A small one would have been $10.00.. still super pricey!

After this we decided we needed to get some lunch!

We stopped at Nathans hot dog! I have eaten here before at mall food courts and such, so I knew I liked their food somewhat..enough to get us by for lunch anyway!
279.jpg

We had bought two souvenir cups for a group discount rate of $5.00 each before we got to the park, so we knew that first fill would be free, and each after would be $.99. I found this to be a great deal, and used it much more than I thought we would! In Disney I never have bought a drink cup..not sure what I do normally??

Anywho, lunch here was a bit pricey as expected. I have no food porn because we left the camera in the locker due to going on water rides.

I can tell you though, we ordered two, two corn dog meals that included 2 corn dogs, fries and one drink, an order of chicken strips, and a small cheese fries. We also got both mugs refilled. The total came to $45.00! Bob and I split the chicken strips and cheese fries! the 4 kids each split the corn dog meals. It was def enough food, and it was pretty tasty! I am a fan of nathans hot dogs and their fries, and this tasted the same as I remembered.

This price for just lunch with everyone splitting stuff reminded me why I enjoy the free dining so much! I had already spent with cost of 2 cups $55.00 this day! We hadn't even had chocolate or dinner yet at this point!

After lunch we decided to go on the lazy river! this was a faster moving river and super fun! the kids loved it! It started to be not as sunny though, so I was a bit chilly, but totally soaking in all the relaxation! Best thing about this river, you have the option to keep going if you want! No need to get off once you make it to the end! We went around 4 times, and then decided we were going to try the east coast water works part of the Boardwalk!

this thing was awesome! it had water slides, a big dump bucket, just water everywhere!

246.jpg

274.jpg

We decided to get in line in there for the best looking slide out of the bunch, the purple slide!

At this point it was NOT as hot but we were all excited to get on this thing. In the line there are a ton of water buckets, guns, etc.. kids were squirting and dumping water on everyone..which made us even colder. we almost got out of line but decided to stay....

this winded up being a mistake and more drama than I have ever experienced was about to come our way!

Next up- How NOT to act at Hershey Park, a wonderful day gone ugly!

Looks like a great day so far! But Oh, No! What's gonna happen next?

Oh, and congrats on fighting your fear to set an example for your children and going on that ski lift thing. Awesome!

Love Hershey Park. We have not been in years

As a kid we used to go every year with other families from our neighborhood. Was a blast

I am scared to hear what comes next popcorn::

I gotta say, next to wdw it was pretty dang nice for an amusement park!

Hey yall! Just wanted to pop in with SUPER exciting DISNEY news! As you all know, I wanted to surprise Bob with something super cool, something he wouldn't have even known existed, like a private wishes cruise! Sadly, i totally dropped the ball, then tonight I recalled seeing the pirates and pals cruise when researching stuff! Money is sort of tight as June was a way BIG MONEY SPENDING month, but I figured I would see what Bob thought.

Now I know, I wanted to do the surprise for Bob, but, I feel bad sneaking money from him after I decided I wasn't going to do anything. So I approached him, he asked info about it, then he said how much? :scared:

and I replied, you get to get there at 7:30 and eat all the soda and desserts that you want, then you see captain hook and mr.smee privately ya know, then you go on a boat and see the fireworks ON A BOAT bean, ON A BOAT, and PIRATES bean, PIRATES are on the boat and tell stories, and omg they are so funny, and you see FIREWORKS, then you get back and PETER PAN is there, just for us boat people, for US!!

To which he replied, Jenn, how much?

$181.02butitswaycheaperthanwhatihadoriginallyplannediswear:scared:

To which he replied: that's cheap, DO IT!!

:dance3:

then I told him i was going to make out with his face tonight.Big time.

Then I told him we will surprise the kids! YUP, me doing a surprise!

Wanna know the best part?? This was our off park day anyway, so we could relax. I originally had a 7:45 adr at Cali Grill so we could see wishes from there. As luck would have it, there was ONE adr for Cali Grill between 3-7 pm, and it was right at 5:30:eek: I snatched that new ressie up, canceled the old one and was on my way, in complete disbelief that everything had just worked out so perfect! Not only do I get to keep my CG adr, but the time is perfect for getting to hotel on time for cruise, and the kids will now def be none the wiser!!

I'm gonna go pinch myself now, because I am still in shock at how lucky I have become. Lucky in love, life, everything!

Sorry for the dramatics, I'm just THAT excited about this! :cloud9:

THat sounds awesome!!!

You are going to have such a great trip :wizard:

Yay! Very luck on snatching that new Cali Grill ADR! And I'm sure the kids (and the adults) will have a blast doing the Pirates Cruise. How fun (but hard) to keep it a surprise from the kids. :)

Hi! You are getting super close! That's exciting. :thumbsup2 Love all the pics from the trips through the years. Kids do grow up way too fast, don't they?

Interesting to hear about Hershey Park. Because its kind of close to some relatives, my mom has suggested we go there a couple of times. I went once a long time ago and don't have the greatest memories. Can't get over the crazy food prices! Wow. Makes Disney look affordable (sorta) by comparison.

And I don't love roller coasters, either, and absolutely have to take Dramamine before I even think about flying, but I love all the coasters at Disney and had no problem on the RnRRC. Why this is? I don't know...chalk it up to Disney magic. :lmao:

:cutie: Yay! I totally LOLed with excitement for you!
I totally knew you would!!! I'm still trying to see how we can plan a stop at Myrtle Beach on our way home from WDW!

THat sounds awesome!!!

You are going to have such a great trip :wizard:
Thank you! I sure hope so! at least your on my fb, youll be first to see everything lol!

SOOOOOOOOOO hard. I almost already slipped! and I could not believe that i was able to get that CG ressie.... I took it as a sign that the cruise was meant to be lol!

That sounds awesome!!!! Where can I find more info about this????
I went on allears.net, and looked at some stuff on here, but honestly, I didn't see a ton of stuff. I can tell you this much, it is 50 per adult and 30 per child. plus tax of course! our total came to 181.02

Hi! You are getting super close! That's exciting. :thumbsup2 Love all the pics from the trips through the years. Kids do grow up way too fast, don't they?
SOOOOO close, and I am getting SO excited! and yes, way tooo fast, that part is NOT exciting! :(

Honestly, it made me love the DDP even more than I already did! I HATED shelling out that amount of money for a CORN DOG! I should post the mini TR on the community board, and give people a look at costs correctly! Despite that, we really loved it there and are excited to have it so close to us! I say give it another try on off season! It's def no WDW, but compared to six flags and sesame place I'll take it!

And I don't love roller coasters, either, and absolutely have to take Dramamine before I even think about flying, but I love all the coasters at Disney and had no problem on the RnRRC. Why this is? I don't know...chalk it up to Disney magic. :lmao:

hmm.. so you did like rnrc?? was it super scary? loops? twists? I REALLY want to try it, but this last trip made me realize how scared i am of those things anymore!:scared:

When I last left you, we were in line for the super awesome looking enclosed purple water slide! As a reminder, it was me, Bob, Kayla, Jack, Kaylas's bff, Kaylas bff's cousin, and then a girl who is friends with Kaylas bff. Until this day I had never met the cousin or the girl! But I am a nanny, sure, i'll take extra kids, what could go wrong, right??

WRONG!!

While we were standing in line, there was an AWFUL white trash woman in line behind us. Her son kept getting wet from the kids above who were dumping the wtaer buckets and spraying the water guns. Probably fun on a really hot day, today not so much, it was obnoxious, and the kids above us were relentless!

The little boy cried, and his mom started flipping out at him, telling him to shut the ff up you pu**Y, I'm gonna beat the sh*t out of you when we get off this thing, stop acting like a little bi*&h , etc.. AWFUL things to say to any child of any age, and he happened to be about 7.

I almost said something to this woman as my kids were in line and could here this, but I decided not to, not looking for drama today. So we continue to wait in line and are all cold, but decided to still stick with it, the ride looked like a ton of fun and what the heck we had already waited this long!

All of a sudden I see a boy walking up the stairs and then he is grabbed and the super white trash woman starts cursing him out!

Well his mom was two people in front of me and she saw this and said excuse me miss whats the problem? White trashville starts cursing at this lady, saying hes not gonna effing cut her in line, and *** this *** that.. bleep bleep bleep...etc, etc! The mom is like ***, hes coming up here to take my place because my one daughter decided shes too scared to go on. and White trasher starts saying I don't give a eff, etc, etc..

the mom is like uhm, ***, and they start yelling, then all of a sudden, I get thrown back, my kids get pinned behind me and are hysterical crying, and fists start flying, all with choice language!

Finally Bob and another dude grabbed both women to break them up, which took much effort!

Finally a life guard comes from down below and kicks both women off! Did the life guard at the ride say or do anything?? NOPE. My boyfriend had to break it up!

Finally is calmed down and I made sure all the kids were OK.. then I realize, WHERE is that little girl in my group that I had just met today??
Gone, she was GONE!

Bob took off to look for her, and found her at the bottom of the stairs hysterical crying and clenched onto the stairs! Poor thing got scared when the women started fighting and took off!

He brought her back, and she and I decided to not wait for the ride and to just chill out and get ourselves together!

We get down to the bottom and I see security with both women. I approached them to let them know that the one woman really was an innocent, although she did throw a fist when one was thrown at her.

Well, all of a sudden they need me to fill out a report as a witness and talk to the cops, etc.... WHAT.. jeesh. I should have kept my mouth closed!

Bob and the rest of the kids rode the ride, and then my friend Stacey came over to the water park, saw what was going on and took all the kids, except Bob and Jack.

Well good thing they did, because me being nice and helping out cost us almost 3 hours at the park!

What do they hand me?? a ticket for a free small soda.

Uhm, no thank you sir. You never said when I offered info that this would eat up my whole day. You said fill this out and be on our way. Then they hunted me down to talk to police officers and fill out more stuff.

Needless to say I was NOT happy, and asked to speak to a manager. I asked for a refund, as I was in the park less than 2.5 hours that day, I was now sick to my stomach over all of this, more than I was on the ride when all I could think was, they better not get near me or my kids.

They couldn't refund my money but they did however give me a return pass, to use throughout anytime during 2011.

At that point I just said OK, I couldn't argue anymore. Sure, I'll spend more money here, great thanks.

With that I found Kayla and told her I needed to get out of that park!

She was not happy, but dealt with it and we left. We were all hungry by now and decided to eat at the Red Robin that is literally right outside of the park!

*Next Up- Dining at Red Robin, and did we ever make it back to Hershey park that night????

I left you off with me leaving the park, full on headache, full on annoyed. Ready for a drink and grub!

Luckily, right outside of the park there are quite a few food choices..chain places and I know I saw a China Buffet!

To my extreme pleasure there was a Red Robin! Idk what it is, but I love this place! I am NOT a lover of fries, but they have these garlic Parmesan fries that are phenomenal!

I quickly ordered a basket of those (which are free btw, as long as one persons order has fries! They start them, and they are bottomless fries, so its like a free app!)

Then I checked out the drink list... NOTHING seemed appealing. Bob however decided on a margarita.

Simple drink order, right?? Nope.. the girl comes back with this sickeningly sweet red thing.

Bob says, whats this??
Oh, its the strawberry margarita YOU ordered.
Nope, just ordered a margarita.
well, they only come in flavors, i thought you said strawberry??
nope, I ordered just a classic margarita, SEE, just like the one on this drink menu.
No they only come in flavors.

At this point Bob, who is the calm/peaceful one out of the two of us was getting visibly annoyed. So I stepped in, and asked her to please go to the bar and ask them to make what was in this picture, and handed her the menu.

She came back with a legit margarita, and after one sip, Bob was happy and back to calm!

After that we ordered our food, and to be honest, I can not recall what we all had! I just know, we were full!

While we were eating, we decided rather than waste the night in the hotel, we would head back to the park and try and salvage what time we had left!

I was feeling much better, and I think everyone just needed to regroup!

Apparently I did not bring my camera with me, probably because I wanted to not be bogged down!

I did however take a few iphone pics with the instagram app! I LOVE THAT APP!

Jack on the kiddie Himalaya ride!

When we got off this ride, I looked down and saw a huge drop of blood on the ride...thought ew..then realized, oh no, Jack. YUP, don't ask me how, but my poor boy got a huge nose bleed! Could this day get any better :rotfl: He was fine after about 20 minutes and we continued on our way!

We winded up having a blast and staying til the park closed down!

At this point we hadn't checked into our room yet.. and we didn't realize that the front desk person leaves by 11.. it was already 10:30!

Luckily our hotel was less than 10 mins away (Hershey Econolodge), and we made it in time!

I was so scared to stay here, as I am anywhere! Disney has RUINED all other hotels for me!

It was definitely no Disney, but for the cheap price, I couldn't argue! I also think being with Bob makes everything better!

I quickly realized when we got to our room, that the expensive box of swiss chocolate I bought for Bob for fathers day had been sitting in the HOT van all day..oops!

He went into the bathroom and I quickly dug it out... it was gift wrapped for me, but I could tell instantly, it was one big hot goopy chocolate mess!

I put it in the front pouch of my suit case and lifted that up to lay on the air conditioning in hopes that it would save the precious noms!

After this, we all got ready for bed. We were exhausted, and it made me super scared for how we are gonna feel in Disney!!
