Your life just fell apart & came back together, what are you going to do next? TR UP!

Well.. it happened. Another BABY of mine went ahead and turned 5 on me:confused3 Next one is being told asap, no turning 5. Although, I was terribly sad to see my baby boy turn 5, I was also overcome with Joy. The life of Jack has been a struggle..for all of us. He has been a challenge since pregnancy and has remained that way until very recently!

Don't get me wrong, there is nothing "wrong" with him, he's just a handful. Many in the beginning said he was on the spectrum.. on the ODD side (which if you know anything about that,m you know that you can'r make that kind of call at age 2!) Then I thought surely, a.d.d. or a.d.h.d. really..but as of very recent, the answer is no.

Jack now sees a therapist. For two reasons, 1) recently he has started having breakdowns randomly about missing john, or asking questions about why we don't live in our old house, and just all sorts of questions about the situation in general. and 2) because I legitimately thought he had a.d.h.d!

Turns out, he is just fine. But very very sad and confused. A.d.h.d wise, the lady says not at all. You have no idea what relief it was to hear that! Apparently boys are just loud, obnoxious, rough little things! I feel awful that I thought there was something wrong with him this whole time. Jack is just unique and needs a little more patience. I can honestly blame myself for comparing him to his big sister Kayla. A BAD IDEA! No one should compare any child to baby Kayla. She was a dream until very recently when aliens invaded her sweet little girl body and replaced it with a slightly less sweet but entirely more moodier version:laughing:

So back to the point, Jack! Hes fine, great even. We have REALLY buckled down on how we do things with him, and he like a dream now! It was never him, it was us.. well, me mostly! Which brings me to Bob. I LOVE this man SO much! He was a.d.h.d as a child (was is used loosely as not much has changed lol) He just gets Jack and he gets how to deal with him! I have learned so much about being a good parent to my son through his awesome example!

Which brings me to Jacks party! Bob was so awesome! I am not lying when I tell you almost everyone either texted me, emailed or facebook messaged me after the party to tell me how lucky I am to have Bob! They also said how awesome his family is! Bobs mom made the awesome birthday cake for us!

So again, back to the point of this post, Jack! He LOVED his birthday! It honestly was one of, if not the best party's my kids have had! With the exception of a few hiccups ( owner being rude a couple of times, and the only 2 kids from his class that rsvped yes to his party not showing up :headache:) the party was a complete hit! and we ALL had fun! even my 83 yo grandma!

Jacks actual birthday was on Easter, so after the roller rink party, we headed down to Bobs moms house for the weekend. They took us out to dinner at a local place we love and all were fast asleep that night!

The next day we woke up, and the kids did Easter baskets first! Bobs nephew lives with his dad at Bobs moms house, so that was fun! Oddly, he and Kayla are exactly 11 days apart in age!

After baskets we did jacks bday presents and he was stoked with the Star Wars helmet we got him! and get this, I got it on clearance at TRU! Woot! He also got roller blades which he loved and happens to rock on! I'd say watch out Tony Hawk.. but hes a skate boarder..idk any famous in-liners???

After presents, Bob made us a huge birthday breakfast and then we all cleaned up and I made amazing desserts for Easter at Bobs aunts house!

(OK people, I am about to give you the links for a couple of desserts that people will praise you for, for the rest of your lives. I mean this so much so , that tonight, a girlfriend of mine called me to thank me, because her son took 1st place tonight at his boy scout banquet with the recipe! :woohoo: )

At around 3 or so we made our way over to Bobs ants house. All of his moms side of the family was there. I have only met these people very recently at his grandparents funerals in December, so I was a bit nervous to say the least! and why? for no reason at all! my kids walked in like they knew these people for years and everyone treated my kids like they knew them for years! No weirdness, just love love love! I've already said it 10 times, whats once more, how lucky are the kids and I???

anywho, as you can see, we had an amazing time this weekend, form start to finish! I must have said wow a dozen times too! I just can't believe how nice everything was.

and again, Jacks behavior was amazing and Bob pulled me aside and said, I can't wait to see him in WDW now, hes gonna be great! We were truly worried about this trip with him, but no more! As he is getting older, he is getting so much more fun! So 5 wasn't quite as sad as I had originally thought it would be!

ps- 135 days til WDW!!!!

(and also, for your viewing pleasure, I have added pictures of my baby boy in his new karate and soccer classes)

OMG that looks delicious! :drool
Unfortunately, the link does not seem to be working. :(

I'm so glad that things are getting better with jack, and that Bob is in large part to thank for that. :goodvibes Looks like it was a great party, and the cake looks awesome too!

So glad that Jack had a great birthday party and that you all had a Happy Easter.

I always thought our youngest had ADD or something like that too, but they never wanted me to test him UNTIL he was in college. I won't even go into the story of what happened when he went to talk to the psychiatrist, but it was a joke.

Boys will be boys! And even with two in the house, they can be light night and day in personality (Andy, at 25, has always been my more mature son and Markie, almost 23, has always been my wild child; but you can see him growing up now).

Aw! I'm SO glad ya'll figured out what's going on with Jack, & even happier that Bob is willing to stick around to help! Makes me like hum that much more!

Hey everyone! Hope you all had a nice weekend! I have some awesome Disney news. Big news actually!
The trip IS paid off!!!!!

YES, you read that right! ALL paid!

AND Tickets to MNSSHP for 9-20-2011 have been purchased!:woohoo::dance3::banana::yay::cheer2:

I am super excited! Now all I have to save for is.....

*Tip money (have quite a bit of it!)

*Souvenir money

*Gas money there and back

*Date Night babysitting service money!

*Halloween costumes

BUT, that stuff always seems to come together some how, and the kids both already have $50.00 gift cards that my mom got them for xmas, and I have one that Jophia got me for my birthday :lovestruc So it's a start! I also have some points that I need to redeem from my bank! I should be able to get about $50-$100 in gas gift cards, so that helps!

I'm just SO excited! the trip is paid off, and only 129 days left! I am almost at my 100 day mark, I can't hardly believe it! woo hoo!

Hey, I am sorry that I haven't gotten a chance to check out your TR! I have been so busy with life and kids! Im barely on here it seems :( I do read, just never have time to comment things like I want! So happy about your wedding though! Can not wait to read all about that!

Hey everyone..anyone? Yall still here?? Hope so!

I am a bad Diser and totally did not announce that I had reached my 100 day mark! BUT I am now full swing into double digits! My ticker says as of right now that we are at 91 days!! Wahhoooooooo! Honestly it doesn't even seem real..so much so that I have really done NOTHING so far!

Well, I have started putting money away, but otherwise, not much!

I did however have a convo with Bob the other night, he brought it up!!! He asked if I was worried about the kids missing so much school lol I replied, nope, my kids, my rules! Hopefully that will fly come vacation time....

Anywho, other than that he actually brought up the drive down and our first day! I was impressed and excited that he was thinking about it, because honestly I can stop thinking about it all of a sudden!

So with that said, we still don't really have a set game plan. But he seemed to OK how I drove down last time. Ultimately, we are trying to avoid DC traffic. I think the best bet is to pick the kids up a bit early from school, (and not tell them we are coming early... I'd like to throw some sort of surprise element in there! ) If we get the kids by 2, that will put us in DC by 6 or so. I figured that would be a great time to stop and have some dinner, take our time, and let the kids get some energy out! By the time we are done dinner, the kids will be ready for their normal bed time of 8pm. I'll throw a movie on, and then we will drive through the night. Honestly, with the kids getting older, I find them to be less patient in the car, so I think driving through the night as I have before will be the best bet for all of us. Bob says he can do it, and I know I can, cause I have in the past..although not well LOLOLOLOL..but hey we ave always arrived in one piece!

If my calculations are correct, we will be at POFQ by 12, thats including stops and all throughout the night/morning.

According to AAA the trip is 15 hours and 31 minutes from door to door. If we leave at 2 and arrive by 12, that gives us 22 hours. Normally I would be in a super rush to get there, but if we get there any earlier we will have no where to go lol! I mean, I rather be at POFQ than in my car, but man, I am going to want to get my room asap! I'm crossing my fingers like nobodies business that they have a room ready for us when we get there! If not, we can always grab some lunch as it will most likely be time to eat again, or at the very least get some caffeine and snacks!

Did I mention how excited I am to introduce Bob to the DDp?? The DxDP at that! This man likes to eat, but not just that, he has never been on this kind of vacation... the one where everything is already taken care of, and ALL meals are included, including yummy snacks! Hes just gonna die and think he went to heaven! He works so hard and deserves this vacation! He already LOVES Disney World to death, so to add the DxDP and all the other insider tips I have from you guys..well, I don't think it will be our last trip here :)

BTW, if you have any must eats at POFQ let me know please! I know about the Beignets and fully intend on trying them day one!!

Let me get back on track! OK, so my hope is, the hotel room will be ready and I will be able to unpack our stuff! Then I was thinking I will take the kids to the pool and let Bob nap.. he said he isn't sure if he will be able to or not, I'm hoping he does though!

After the pool we will ALL have to shower after being in the car for so long!
Tonight we have dinner at SOA! this was not my fav dinner last time we went, but it was fun, and honestly I think with Bob I could eat at McDonalds and it would feel magical! I think he will bring a sense of fun to this meal that I was anticipating last time, only to have it ruined by senor jerk face! Company can def make or break an experience!

After dinner, which is the 5:15 show btw, I am hoping we have enough energy to stroll on the poly beach and hopefully catch wishes... I am not however stuck on that idea! Getting to bed early is more important to me, as the next day we will have our first park day and I *REALLY* would love to make rope drop.... and if not that, I at least want everyone to be well rested and super chipper!

Up next, day 2!

I know I have started this before..but since stuff has changed, I am starting all over!

Up next, day 2!

I know I have started this before..but since stuff has changed, I am starting all over!

Great day one plans. It helps when you have two that can drive (Mark never wanted me to drive and we always stopped a night when we drove to let him get some sleep). There is a shrimp hamburger that they have that I have read several people talk about that is supposed to be yummy.

Hey Jenn

So Close Now :cool1:

When he drives are you going nap? I could not picture myself staying up all night and then staying up until bedtime when I arrive...I am old now I guess...

Seriously, I think that is cool you will sign out kids early, giving them a little surprise. That will be fun for them

:goodvibes

Still here. :)

Driving through the night is not for everyone, but if you know you can do it then it's a great idea. Hope your room is ready for you though as I'm sure you'll be pretty restless from being in the car so long by then.

oooh.. idk about a shrimp burger..Bob would probably try it, he is more adventurous than I am! I will let him know about it! As for stopping to sleep, I did it once on the way home, and what a nightmare! the room was SO gross after being at Disney, i swear I felt worse than if I would have driven straight through! as for stopping on the way down< i think the excitement is what helps me get through it??

well.. thats the plan..we will see if it happens. i dont sleep well when other people are driving anymore :/ especially if I know the other person is sleepy.... should be fun;)

thanks! I would have loved to surprise them with the whole trip, but im awful at that! so an early pick up will at least make me feel like I threw a little something in there lol

I am PRAYING that it will be ready!! Just to go potty and get everything unpacked at the very least! Plus, i really want Bob to try an nap...if not I am sure we will be fine and be able to keep going off of excitement alone!

I hope...:rolleyes1

When we have driven down from PA, we make sure to pack the bathing suits and sunscreen in a different bag (that is easy to get to), this way if our room is not ready, we head to the food court, eat some lunchand go swimming. DH (who has driven) usually naps in a lounge chair..I swear that man can sleep anywhere! My kids LOVE the pool, sometimes I wonder if they rather just go swimming the entire trip!

We prefer our room to be ready as well, but this has worked the days it hasn't been!
