your best character interaction?

We were at Garden Grill for lunch and my son(was 4 at the time) had on a Tomas the Train sweatshirt. Dale came over and pointed to his shirt and shook his head like "how dare you?" We were still waiting for our food 20 minutes later when he came back around and pointed to the table then put his hands up like "where's your food". My son loved the whole experience there!

The second one was at Islands of Adventure last year. We went to the breakfast with Spiderman, Cat in the Hat and Thing 1 and Thing 2. Thing 1 tried to steal my youngest sons toy! Then Thing 2 tried to take my son! He was pushing the high chair across the floor!. It was a blast! And the conversation that my older son had with Spiderman was a riot! He asked my son if he ever considered being a superhero. My son said no at first and Spidey was shocked! Then Adam said "well now that I think of it, it might be an ok job!"

Im gonna tell youse about my moms best.wee bit long but stick with it......

We lost my dad 8 years ago.

He was a typical old school blue collar worker.

Showed how much he loved his family by working hard and providing, not so big on the laughs and hugs......

Then he discovered WDW.

My dad was a different person there.

He didn't ride many rides he just soaked up the place.

He so got the magic and the magic got him.

Anyways our first family trip back without him was very hard.

We decided the best way to deal with it was to point out fun times we had had with dad as we went round the parks.

On our last night my DH and i took DS to get some character Autographs in Toon Town and my mom sat on a bench way round back waiting.

She got a wee bit teary sitting herself.

Then she felt some one sit next to her.

It was Donald...my dads favourite character.

We always joked they were so similar...as in moody and grumpy.

He took my mums hand and just sat with her.

He then just got up and walked away......leaving a white feather on the bench.

To help the kids remember my dad we told them if they find a white feather it is one of Grandads Angel feathers and he must have been watching them.

Pretty Magical I think.

Awww. That made me cry. But in a good way.

What a beautiful story. Thank you for sharing it with us. I firmly believe that our loved ones who have left this life are watching over us on the other side.

Our family was @ Epcot in Feb 2007, and were walking on a back path near where you see Pooh & friends. I saw Alice step out & I called ahead to my little sister (8) and said, Sara, Here's Alice. Well, Sara didn't know Alice heard me call her, so Alice twrilled around a light pole and sang out "Sara, there you are, I've been looking for you all afternoon." So in Sara's mind, Alice knew her name. There was no one around so Alice talked & played with Sara about 15 minutes... I have some awesome pictures of the encounter! You could see the pixi dust coming out of Sara's eyes the rest of the trip.

It was awesome and still my best memory!

I love reading all of these stories. It keeps me thinking about our character visits and I remember more.

On our first trip, my oldest DD was visiting Eeyore, Pooh, and Tigger at AK. She wanted to know where Piglet was, so she asked Tigger. He moved his arms like he was swimming.

On our last trip, we saw some of the Princesses at Toon Town. When we went to see Cinderella, I mentioned something about having not seen my oldest DD in a few years and that the last time my DS was just a baby. Well, she went on and on about how she remembered them, and my how they've grown. They loved it.

That is adorable. I bet she was thrilled. I love it when the characters do that!

:sad1: Beautiful pixiedust:

On our trip earlier this month we had a dinner booked at Garden Grill in Epcot. We arrived for a ADR and were told we would have to wait a few minutes. My kids were so excited to go in they just started walking up the ramp. We told them to come back and 2 out of the 3 did, my middle child (DS4) stayed about a 1/3 of the way up the ramp and was looking through the glass. Well who should come along but Mickey himself. He walked up to the glass and pointed at DS and tapped him on the head, then ducked down - well of course DS had popped up, then he went down to see Mickey through the glass - Mickey pops up - and back and forth a few times (at this point I get wise and grab the camera - shots weren't great, but will give us great memories). Then DS tries staying down to trick Mickey and instead Mickey stands up and leans over the railing/glass and just waits till DS pops up - right in to Mickey's nose. The whole time through this my DS is just giggling a wonderfully infectious laugh.

It probably only lasted a minute, but it is a memory that will last a lifetime for all of us, I can still hear his giggle now as I type this, and see th joy on his face, and on the faces of other people watching this interaction that thought it was great too.

This is why I love DISNEY!!!!

A little background We (Myself, DW, DD - 7 and DD - 3) were at Epcot on christmas eve of 2008. The KidCot (i think thats what it was called) exercise was to go to each country pavillion and get a x-mas ornament of some type and attach it to a Mickey Mask. Well we were on our way to the China Souvenrir store to get our ornament and out of a side door walked "Mushu" from Mulan (see my icon). We have never seen him at the parks so my girls immediately grabbed their autograph books and rushed over to him. In talking to him, my oldest told him we have a ShihTzu named Mushu at home, upon hearing that he handed me the books and took their hands and walked hand in hand with the two of them all the way to the Pavillion where we was going for photos. Once inside he played with both of them for about 10 minutes until his line got a little longer and we had to go. A little extra Disney / X-mas magic.

What an amazing story!!! I truly believe that that was your Dad that day. A beautiful memory for your Mom to hold onto!

We've had many great interactions over the trips we have taken. Stitch has always been a trip and I don't know if the talking trashcan is considered a character, but those have been funny interactions.

This is my favorite character picture. DS14 did not want to take a picture with his younger cousins, but Donald gave him a little talk and he finally couldn't say no, LOL

I remember before they had meet and greet spots, so when you did see a character roaming about it was pretty magical. I remember not long after Epcot opened and going through Journey. I just fell in love with Figment, so right after we got off there he was, I was so excited.

My friend and I went to Mickey's Halloween party in 2007. She is not into characters but I am so while we were walking through fantasy land she grabbed my hand and pointed. We saw Snow White and all the Dwarfs skipping through FantasyLand... We grabbed onto Dopey and skipped threw the park. She took my picture with the whole crew!! Best moment yet:

PUSH is certainly a character... his interactions are always a lot of fun. :)

Loving the stories and pics!

This will be my 3rd trip to the World in the past three years, and the interactions with the characters are easily one of my favorite parts.

As a teacher, I have a classroom mascot. His name is Puff, and he is a stuffed hedgehog. He's about the size of a baseball, so he is very portable. One of my students three years ago asked me if Puff was going to come with me to Walt Disney World. "Genius!", I thought. So, when I go to the World, Puff always comes with, and we take pictures of Puff doing everything we're doing. When I return to school in August, I create a huge "Wall of Puff" outside my classroom. It's like a huge scrapbook, and I don't know who loves it more: the students or the teachers!

Anyway, I have two stories to share from our August 08 trip:

We were in Morocco in WS, and Jasmine and Aladdin were out. I was holding Puff in my hand, and the character escort asked me what that was. I showed Puff to her, and explained that he was my class mascott. When it was my turn to meet Jasmine and Aladdin, the character escort told Jasmine and Aladdin that I was a teacher. They could not have been any nicer to me! They even shook my parents' hands, and said that "We need more good teachers in the world like your daughter!" They really made me feel special in just that small interaction.

The second story occured the same day. We were in the toy shop in England, and I saw three or four little ones standing in a line with their autograph books. I walked up to a little boy (about 3 yrs. old), and asked him "Who are we waiting for?" "Pooh Beah!" he exclaimed with excitement. So, I promply got in line with Puff.

Pooh and Eeyore came out several minutes later, and after all of the children had met them, I got in line. When I met Pooh and Eeyore, I explained that I was a teacher, and introduced them to Puff. Well, they loved him! Pooh pretended to play golf with Puff, and was going to use him as the ball. Eeyore dropped to his knees to save Puff from Pooh and his imaginary clubs. As we were taking pictures with Pooh and Eeyore, all of the sudden, some catchy dance music came on. The character escort shouted, "Let's dance!" and next thing I knew I was dancing with Pooh and Eeyore! This was easily one of the highlights of my trip!

My students have requested that Puff meet Stitch this year, as well as "all the princesses!". I'll work on that, kiddos... :thumbsup2

I haven't had too much character interaction - I mostly want to ride the rides! However, one morning I was waiting for Animal Kingdom to open, and wearing these green palm-tree print bermuda shorts from Old Navy, which I had purchased with Animal Kingdom in mind! Well, as we're waiting, Wes Palm comes up to me and starts flirting with me! He thought my shorts were great and was asking me if I had been to AK before and where I was going first... it was hilarious!

My best interaction was with Peter Pan on my most recent trip this past Feb. I saw him in adventureland and had a crush on him since I was a little girl (I know a crush on a cartoon character is wierd but I'm sure I'm not the only one!! :P) Anyway I got into the line and was very nervous and shaking.

Peter then asked me why I was shaking and I told him how excited I was to meet him. We chatted for a while then he noticed my "I'm celebrating" button. And the covo went;
Peter:What are you celebrating?
Me: My Graduation.
Peter: Your Graduation? But that means your growing up!
Me: I know! I don't want to though!!!
Peter: Well come with me to Neverland and be a lost girl!
Me: OK!!!

He then tried to get me to fly (didn't work :P) and left with a huge hug and got a great picture. I will never forget that Peter Pan. He fulfilled a little girl's dream.

We had spent all week long tracking down princesses and was fortunate enough to get them all, except Snow White. This was DD4 first time to Disney, and she's all about princess, so we didn't mind waiting in lines to track them all down. One of her favorite things to do was watch Spectromagic. Our last night there, she was dressed up as Jasmine and had been in a show-off mood all night. During the parade she was jumping up and down and waving the whole time to each float/character that passed. Snow White was the last person walking in the parade. She sees my daughter in all of her excitement and comes over to her and plants a big, red kiss on her forehead. My daughter was so excited that she finally got to see Snow White up close and the kiss, well let's just say she cried the next morning when we washed it off in the tub.
I'm sure they do this all the time, but Snow White's timing of being the last princess on our last night made a lasting impression on my daughter. I had 2 older couples come up to me after this telling me how "magical" that was to watch, and it reminded them of their children being small at WDW...brought tears to my eyes!
I wasn't able to get a pic of her actually doing it, but luckily my husband caught it on video!
Here is the pic I took.
