your best character interaction?

What a fun thread!

My favorite is from 1/08. My poor little guy was terrified of most of the attractions and characters with masks. He followed his big sisters all over MK and through every Princess thing possible. On the boat back to WL, I asked him who was is favorite character. He answered, "The Little Mermaid....she's got a great tail!"

Boys will be boys:rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2:

:rotfl2: No matter what age they are!!!!

I always find Captain Hook right around Pirates of the Caribbean on and off all day it's usually on the guide for that day if you grab one on your way in.

Uh-Oh  Ok I'm busted.....guilty as charged. Yes I am the HUGE Deadliest Catch/Northwestern geek. Yes that is definitely me. I was there in July AND December and will be going back when they come back in July, I wouldn't dare miss meeting Sig and Edgar no matter what I have to do to get there, I was there two days in Dec, the 12th which was my birthday and the 13th. I'm infamous now for making them sign a my little pony, for GIVING Edgar a my little pony and for giving Edgar a keychain he got stuck up his nose with picture evidence to boot. Ok, ok enough Hansen rambling......~tries to sneak away~ I would post those pictures but I dint think they count as character interaction....lol

We have so many honestly and we've only been three times (4 later this week!!).

To watch my very timid 4 year old son walk up to a character and actually smile for the picture with a true smile and happiness in his eyes is priceless to me!!!

When we went in Sept, my 2 year old son saw Stitch - now he had NO CLUE who Stitch was. He ran to him with a big grin and open arms! He and Stitch just loved on each other for quite some time. I'll have to find the picture and post it - it's truly priceless.

Thank you all for sharing your stories. I'm sitting here reading them with tears in my eyes at work! :goodvibes

For the poster who made the Captain Hook shirt - where did you go to meet Captain Hook?? My boys have been looking for him and I'd like to try and track him down. On a more personal note, didn't I see you in line meeting the boys from the Deadliest Catch in Epcot in Dec????

My best character meet was with Baloo from Jungle Book. My dad and brother are absolutely in love with the song 'Bear Necessities', and started singing it for Baloo, who started dancing to the song.

we had a great experience meeting Ariel! She was so sweet and funny with our kids. She mentioned to my DD that Mommy had pretty red hair just like Ariel does! My DD loved that!! We got awesome pics of the huge hug they got from her!

I have to post 3 of my faves and we've only been TWICE! All three of these were on our last visit.

1. We had lunch at the Garden Grill and Chip, Dale and Mickey were fantastic. Chip kept flirting with me and I was eating it up. I'm a single mom and it was a mom/daughter trip that was supposed to be a honeymoon trip! He came by several times and would sit beside me and blow me kisses or pick up my hand. It was adorable. And I never mentioned the "supposed honeymoon trip." Mickey sat down and after a few minutes of trying to play charades with him, I finally figured he wanted me to pull out a map. He then proceeded to tell me his favorites in the park by pointing out stuff on the map. I then told him that my mom asked for something "with Mickey on it" as a souvenir from the parks. He looked around the table, tore off a piece of the napkin and started to draw a picture of Mickey on the torn piece of paper. He motioned for me to tell me her name and wrote her name TO: Pat on the paper. It was so very cool.

2. The Step sisters at 1900 Park Faire were hilarious. Anastasia was first to our table and she talked us up. I had not planned on bringing up the cancelled wedding but during some comments it sort of slipped right on out there. And her mouth just dropped. Well, I coudn't resist, so I went on to tell her, "Guess what the theme was?.... Cinderella themed of course." LOL She took it and ran with it. She called Druzilla over (very loudly of course) and begain filling in Druzilla with ALL THE DRAMA at this table. And she ended up by yelling out over to Cinderella SEE SHE MESSES UP EVERYTHING. Don't use her for a theme! And she told me I was better off dumping the jerk but it would have been funnier if I had waited until the actual wedding day and literally left him at the altar. My DD12 was rolling in the floor.

3. We were lucky enough to get P & PP tickets during our trip and I told DD13 the main thing I wanted to do while we were there was see the Jack Sparrow show and meet him if I could. I didn't care how long the lines were going to be, He was the only character I wanted to meet. Well, sure enough, we saw the show but shortly realized there would be no line for a meet n greet. AFter a long and exhausting day, we started to leave a few minutes before the party was officially over and the crowds became too thick leaving. Well lo and behold on our way down Main Street who comes walking up. YEP JACK SPARROW! He begins talking to a few people and I'm waiting for a line to form and not be rude and interrupt and the lovely CM explained, he wouldn't do a line and it was going to be an informal meet n greet and just step right on up. Well, there were several people around by now, so I let a few others go ahead before I stepped up since it was looking like it may turn chaotice any moment. DD13 got her picture and Mom got my prized picture as well. He asked me where was my "prince charming" (in a sarcastic voice nonetheless) and again I said that I had just cancelled my wedding and he smiled at me and said Choose a pirate next time!

Even though I was trying hard not to dwell on the fact I had just cancelled a wedding, it happened, but the characters turned it into such a humorous thing.. it helped ALOT to laugh off the situation. And my DD13 (12 then) looks much older than she is, but is still a "little girl" maturity wise and they all made her feel just as special and made it a great mother daughter trip for us.

What a fun experience with Ariel! LOL Loved the Mulan pics, too - my DW is desperately hoping that the one we have "on the way" will be like yours - curly red heair. This will be baby #4, and none have had red hair (even though I do).

About the red hair...you may want to warn your wife that the hair comes with a FIERY temper!!!

It was back in 1973, Christmas vacation from school, I was 15 and went to the Magic Kingdom with my Mom and grandparents. Grandma was in a wheelchair because she had polio as a child and walked with a limp so she couldn't walk long distances. All of a sudden Chip and Dale came running up to her, took her off for a quick ride, tickled her, just fussed over her something fierce, it was so cute and fun to watch!! My Mom has a great picture of Grandma smiling big with Chip and Dale.

Sophie, I think that she may already know about the temper from living with me. ;)

From our recent trip:

Cinderella: Where are you from?
Me: RI.
Cinderella: You rode on an island to get here?

Princess Aurora: What is your favorite ride here?
Me: Splash Mountain.
Aurora: Ohh, I thought my Prince Phillip was the only one brave enough to ride that!

Donald couldn't see my friend's autograph book, so he stole my dad's glasses and set them on his bill :rotfl:

My absolute favorite has to be with Wendy and Peter Pan.

Keep in mind, this Peter was very, VERY cute.

Peter: So, where're ya from?
Me: RI
Peter: Is that far from here?
Me: A bit.
Peter: A bit? Well, did you walk?
Me: No.
Peter: Did you fly?
Me: Yes!
Peter: Wendy, they flew all the way here! Did you use pixie dust?!
Me: YES!
Peter: Did you save some for the trip home?
Me: YES!!
Peter: Oh, that's great!
Wendy: Ohh keep that away from the pirates, Peter. They don't think enough happy thoughts, anyway. Except for walking the plank. And that isn't very happy.
Peter: Oh no, it isn't, Wendy.

When face characters stay so perfectly in character like that, it is fantastic!

My favorite was from our first trip with our DS's in 2004. We were waiting in line for something at DHS (can't remember what now), and we noticed Lilo & Stitch nearby. Since Stitch was (and still is) my DS's favorite we left the line we were in to get in the short line to wait our turn with their favorite. As soon as it was our turn, my DS10 (5 at the time) dropped to the ground on all fours and just looked at Stitch. Stitch dropped to the ground and started crawling to him. After Stitch crawled to him, they crawled back to Lilo and my DS11 (6at the time) who were standing waiting and watching the two on all fours.

last years trip at CP my DD went to go get some food i was eating there then all of sudden tigger was there siting in my dad's chair :lmao: i had no camera :confused3

One time, I was at an E-night. There was music playing out in front of the castle, so I started waltzing around with an invisable partner. Suddenly, there's Goofy in front of me, and he offers his hand. Goofy and I then twirled all over the courtyard!

Another time, during my college program, there used to always be a whole bunch of characters in the back of Exposition Hall...this particular day, Snow White, her prince, all the dwarves, and Pluto were there with few people around because no one knew they were there! I was singing, as I often do- I started "Some Day My Prince Will Come" and the next thing I knew, Pluto was dancing around, and all the dwarves came over and listened just as do with Snow White in the movie! Then Dopey very excitedly pulled me over to Snow White and the Prince and had me sing again for them! The guests in the room all applauded for me. :)

This wont take long. In 1982 I was 7 and at Disneyland and had my picture taken with Chip and Dale. I was between them and they were fighting over me, each taking an arm trying to pull me closer or be in front...I remember laughing so hard.

Df and I, haven't really spent alot of time with the characters... just too busy running for those rides: i guess.:goodvibes :confused3 I"m def. going to make a point to see and take photos with as many characters as we can this coming september... it was one of my to do things.:woohoo:

However, I was over on the wedding boards and a bride named lynn has a picture taken with AT LEAST 15 differen tcharacters during her disney wedding/honeymoon. which i think is pretty kool....

Im gonna tell youse about my moms best.wee bit long but stick with it......

We lost my dad 8 years ago.

He was a typical old school blue collar worker.

Showed how much he loved his family by working hard and providing, not so big on the laughs and hugs......

Then he discovered WDW.

My dad was a different person there.

He didn't ride many rides he just soaked up the place.

He so got the magic and the magic got him.

Anyways our first family trip back without him was very hard.

We decided the best way to deal with it was to point out fun times we had had with dad as we went round the parks.

On our last night my DH and i took DS to get some character Autographs in Toon Town and my mom sat on a bench way round back waiting.

She got a wee bit teary sitting herself.

Then she felt some one sit next to her.

It was Donald...my dads favourite character.

We always joked they were so similar...as in moody and grumpy.

He took my mums hand and just sat with her.

He then just got up and walked away......leaving a white feather on the bench.

To help the kids remember my dad we told them if they find a white feather it is one of Grandads Angel feathers and he must have been watching them.

Pretty Magical I think.

My DS was almost 2 and her was terrified of every character to an extent. But he LOVED Stitch! Here is a pic of him our last day.

It was so cute and Stitch was great. The other characters were great with interaction as well, DD was 3 and she just had a blast. We went to the Garden Grill for lunch and Chip and Dale keep picking on my son. He thought it was me rubbing his head, then they would kiss him on the head and my son would growl. It was so funny. Chip and Dale kept egging him on. It was a great experience..oh and my DD kept trying to share her cup cake with Chip and Dale.
