Your Autograph Book TIPS

Although you may find waiting for all of the kids autograph books to be signed time consuming, as the person standing in line behind you, I would not begrudge your children their time with the characters. Just because they are fortunate enough to have 4 siblings, doesn't mean they should be unfortunate in their experience at disney world.

Beautiful! I hope someone behind my four kids has your spirit!

I totally agree....if four siblings have waited in line jsut like everyone else then they have as much right to the magic as everyone else!! Like was said in an earlier post, its exactly the same as waiting behind four unrelated children..and provided it doesn't go beyond autograph and photo for each (as an individual would have) then it's fine...obviously if you want a pic of all the children together with the character that's cool too but I do have to say that the people who DO try and get massive amounts of pictures with different combos of people and stuff are usually moved on by CM's when it starts holding the line up.

Here's some pictures of our homemade books - books from Walmart, abc letter/stickers from Walmart, stickers from Dollar Tree and many coats of Mod Podge! Each kid has their own color clickable Sharpie!

My cousin had a great idea for her little boy's autograph book. On one page, the character would sign his/her autograph, and the page directly next to it, she would stick a picture of her son with the character. It was SO cute, made it a lot more memorable, got more use out of the book, and made it even more of a keepsake.

Purchase an 'Autograph book' at your local $ store, then let kids decorate (perfect activity for airplane ride) inside and out with Disney stickers! My DS had the characters sign on 'their pages' eg: Mickey on page with Mickey stickers, etc! ! Buy a pen on a string that hangs around your neck!

We will be staying at CSR in April and I've been trying to figure out what to do for autographs for my twins (who will be celebrating their 5th birthday while we're there!!). Lots of great ideas here - thanks!! :thumbsup2

I am loving this thread and great ideas!

Can someone tell me what Modge Podge is and if it is hard to do?

I got a "Mead Sketch Diary" with 70 perforated 9x6 blank pages that are archivial quality and have heavy weight paper. :confused3 (just happened upon them at Krogers for $3.79!!) And it even has a little pocket in the front of the book. :thumbsup2

Anyway, the cover is not so exciting (gray with words, etc) and wanted to do something with it? :confused3

Ok, so I want to know for those of you who are scrappers, are you concerned at all about using a sharpie instead of Scrapbook type pen (one that won't fade with time) for the signatures?
thanks! And this is a FABULOUS thread!!!

As a scrapbooker, and a sharpie user. I'd only be worried if you're using sharpie on your photos. I'd have them sign on cardstock with a sharpie and then it'll be fine. I'd be worried about the ball point pen, I have autograph books from 1992 where the pen is turning yellow.
I've made 4 autograph scrapbooks so far and all have used sharpie. Black and Silver mostly, but my most recent trip I started using color.

I also scan a copy when I get home so I can resize it and use them on a scrapbook page. My 6x6 autograph pages get put into an album next to the photo.

Thanks sooooo much! I really appreciate it. :goodvibes I'm going to find a nice sharpie pack and decorate them fun. Seems in the threads that those CMs who saw (a) decorated pages and (b) fun pens seem to interact more with the child(or adult).
:)
Boy, I love this board. it's addicting!

For our first trip with kids (8 years ago), I made pages with clipart of each character. I had each character sign his/her page. Then when we came home I got a small photo album and put the signature on one side and the picture with the character on the other. This turned out nice. Downfalls: it was a hassle finding the right page for each character and we ran into characters that i hadn't thought of ahead of time (so they didn't have an individualized page.

second trip (4 years ago): we had t-shirts signed. This was a major pain to carry around and stretch the shirts as they signed, etc. A needlepoint hoop probably would have worked better. We used a clipboard as a back. Another downfall is that my DDs never wore their shirts once we returned home. We just found them again the other day. We oohed and ahhed for about 30 seconds then put them away.

This trip (4 days to go!!!! ) I am doing photo frame mats. I found these at Dollar Tree (2 for $1!!!!). I went to Wal Mart and found some Disney stickers in the scrapbooking section. One says "Disney Memories" another "Disney Vacation, "Pretty as A Princess", etc. I put one of these on each of the mats. I plan on doing the mats at our character meals so we don't have to wait in line or lug them around the parks. I have one mat for each character meal. I can't wait to see how these turn out. I'll post pictures once they are complete. These mats are for an 8x 10 frame and hold a 5 x 7 picture.

Very cute! Do you have the finished product to show us? I bought a photo mat with three 5 x 7 openings for an 11 x 14 frame and I am looking forward to taking it to the three character meals we'll be attending.

I bought Sharpie poster paint markers in gold and silver.

I love the look of these and am wondering if anyone has personal experience with paint markers. I have never used them.

Let's revive this thread with more autograph ideas and results!
