I'm telling you - I need to stop reading the threads here! I've been so jealous of all you who have LSS nearby as well as Jo-Ann's with more than just fabric. Well....I had to run somewhere about 20 minutes north of here in an area I rarely go....lots & lots of stores - all types.
Anyway, there was a bridge out & I had to detour out onto the "main drag"
& guess what I found? Yup!
(I knew there were 2 LSS up there, but had never been.) As it turned out, one was a total waste of time (don't know how she stays in business - there's nothing there!) and the other went OUT of business. I breathed a big sigh of relief at all the $$ I just saved & then I saw it. As big as you please....a sign for Michaels with an arrow pointing into the parking lot! (This one is actually closer than the one I've been going to, unfortunately.) So of course I stopped in to see what they had. Oh my! They had less of some things, but a bunch of things the other store didn't. It wasn't too bad - I only spent $20.
As I was leaving the parking lot I saw a sign for Jo-Ann's across the street. I thought I'd pop in just to see if it was only fabric or if they had scrapping things. Fortunately, it wasn't even open yet and it will carry scrapping stuff.
I smiled merrily at having saved $$ & headed for home. Four blocks down the street on the way back to the detour, I saw what I'd hoped NOT to see. Yup! A sign for Jo-Ann's that I'd missed earlier as it was low to the ground. It seems they were relocating & having a "huge clearance to the walls" and everything was 30% to 90% off!
Without even realizing it, my blinkers went on & I found the car turning into the parking lot!
I was going to be good & just turn around & leave....but then it happened! Someone pulled out of a handicapped space right in front of the store! Yes - I pulled into that spot.
I mean it was fate or something!
You see, I have a handicapped placard. (Yes, I'm entitled to it.)
What would you have done? Well, my mother didn't raise any fools & I'm not one to tempt fate - I got out of the car. I walked into the store & thought "It looks junky. Everything seems really picked over. They won't have anything. It will be okay." It wasn't! I spent another $17.
I think I need an intervention!
