Whew..so many questions LOL.
The on line DC is also the address label. The half you cut off and affix gets totally taped down (even though they tell you not to tape over the bar code..if you have a laser printer..that is fine..if not you need to tape the whle thing (no wrinkles or it won't scan), or if it gets at all damp, it will run. If you want them to stamp the label from their post office as further proof..you need to bring the half you cut off (the record). I only do this when it's a big number item, since it would be more paperwork for me...by the time I"m at the PO, that record is already filed with the personls printout of their bid.
On the shipper's assistant, you need to put in the weight..but if you fudge it won't matter..unless you are prepaying for your postage..then you should be exact...and even then, if you aren't they'll just charge you more at the window. If you aren't going to the window, they'll charge the person you shipped to. This is just if you are prepaying hte postage, which I don't think you are.
In the check-off section (where they have the one that you can check off to see a sample), what do I need to check off there for using delivery confirmation on OTHER than priority mail? The choices are:
I dont click anything there, icluding save the form path. ..because I don't need to see a sample, and it saves my return addy, so I"m all set. ..so I can't help you there. Mayeb if I paid my postage on line I would have to. All I do is change the service type, depending on which type of mail I am sending.
QUOTE] I can print out the info that actually SAYS the DC is only 15 cents - in case the clerk at the PO doesn't know or gives me a hard time?[/QUOTE]
I believe it's .13..and it will scan up as that I haven't run into one PO that didn't know that it will be that cheap price (as long as they have the scanner..for instance, Duanesburg PO doesn't, so if you know where that is, don't mail there). If you do, tell them to look at the July 2001 bulletin.
