C. Ann,

I can answer your Turbolister question. Yes, you can work offline. I love that about it.

Now, how on earth did you finally get your shipping assistant to work, I still can't get mine to. I have that same "external viewer" thing. Thanks.
------------------------------

Not only did I have to install the Acrobat 6.0 - but I had to install the FULL version - that took WELL over an hour.. The lesser version (just the reader) wouldn't work for the shipppers assistant..

The lesser version (just the reader)

You mean you had to install the version you have to pay for? I only have the reader....Acrobat Reader 5.0. I wonder why you had to install the full version..that's expensive..something I wish I could afford!
Oh..or do you mean you couldn't just upgrade your old version, you had to install the full version reader 5.0?

No - there was no charge for it - unless you get the professional package.. This was the 6.0 and you could either load the reader or the "full" version that takes up more space (and takes a LOT more time to load).. Actually I didn't even see the 5.0 on Acrobats site anymore..
--------------------

This is from the site:

Step 2 of 2

software will download unless you select the checkbox below. We recommend downloading the full version to take advantage of a broader feature set. Note that selecting the full version will increase the file size and total download time.

OK..I'm at the site (I have 5 and the Post Office assistant works good with that version..you must have had an even earlier version)..and all I can find for the full version is a 30 day trial. Can you give me the name of the file you d/l? Otherwise the reader is free..but I don't see the standard for free : (

OK..I just spent more time there..you still only d/l the reader, not the whole program..since it's very expensive, I was suprised they were giving it away (and their not, darn it LOL). The standard is $299. The reader is free. I'm at the site..and the choices are the full version (of the reader) or the basic version (of the reader)...you have ot pay if you want the standard, which allows you to write acrobat pages. The full (of the reader) is recommended for broadband users and the basic for dial up, however you can d/l either..it just takes a lot more room, but you get "bonuses". I dont need the stuff the bigger version offers, since I already have a program for that, and 5 works fine, so I'm all set..

You can also d/l 5 among other versions still at that site.

I didn't see the 5 - but then I'm surprised I can see ANYTHING right now because I'm so bleary-eyed from trying to deal with all this stuff.. I sure hope the week gets better as I go on or I'm going to get AWFULLY ugly! Grrrrrrr.. And tomorrow is back to the slave factory!

Right now I'm trying to weigh all my packages (now that they're entirely packed, taped, etc.) so I can try to print out the DC labels.. If it doesn't work, you will never hear from me again.. Watch the news and when they say "there's a body floating in the river" you'll know it's MINE..!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Arrrggghhhh..

Swell! I just did another label - submitted it - got the confirmation number - and when I went to print it the whole thing disappeared and my computer totally froze!!

I can't be bothered with this.. I'd rather just pay the 55 cents!!

NOW what do I do????????????

just overlap them at the bottom. I cut mine as close as I can without losing any of the writing...not on the dotted line. Right to the edge of hte P on the top (or whatever type of mail yours shows). They fit on the video Priority boxes easily.

As far as the freezing..I don't have an answer for that. I assume you saw what I wrote about the "standard" acrobat (that you must have d/l the reader, not the standard)..just so no one else tries to d/l that version. Maybe you need a reboot after d/l all the new stuff.

I really want to start ebaying but...
I barely understand the dig camera. I want to learn about it. My husband knows more than I. When he tried to make a picture suitable for ebay it is way too big. We are trying to used the software that comes with windows. Suggestions??

We also don't know how to make them small to email to people.

Thanks for the suggestions DMRick - but I'm going to pass on this whole shipping assistant thing for now.. It's taking way too much time - it doesn't work right - the computer freezes up - and I just don't have the patience..

I've been paying the 55 cents up until now - I suppose it won't kill me to keep paying it.. Wish I could get people to go for the Priority Mail, but they just don't want to part with the money.. One gal that was bidding on one of my auctions (NOT a media item) even emailed me with this long sob story about how she was a Mom trying to get by on very little money, a Sunday School teacher - and wanted to know if I would LIE at the PO and say the item was media.. Sheesh! Glad she wasn't MY kids Sunday School teacher!!

I sure hope I don't run into all sorts of problems when I try to use the Turbo Lister because if I do, I'm going back to the old-fashioned way I was doing everything.. Waaaaaay less stressful!!

I only use the free on line DC because it's free. When it wasn't free, I would offer it..if they didn't pay it, I didn't get it. I have had only one item lost in all these years..that's a lot to pay from your profits. Of course I don't want to jinx you, but are you sure you need it?

Don't I HAVE to have it because I accept Paypal cc's???

Don't tempt me, DMRick.. Tomorrow I'll be paying out $7.15 in DC charges... :( That's almost a Character Breakfast for my granddaughter....

If someone were to do a chargeback, then you would have proof you mailed it..but I've never had anyone do one. You don't HAVE to have DC..it's just for your protection. What's the chances anyone will argue they didn't get something. You don't sell really expensive stuff, right? You lose one item in a few years, then any extra you charged for handling will cover it. Of course I refuse to be held responsible LOL!

Dang! I could have sworn I read on the Paypal site that you HAD to provide DC !!! Wish I posted here before I slapped all those DC labels on my packages for tomorrow.. :(

So tell me.. If someone ever DID say something didn't arrive, how would I handle it so as not to destroy my so-far "glowing" feedback :) ???

You're REALLY tempting me! I could just use it for something that I felt was expensive and ditch it on the others..

Come on, DMRick - talk to me!! LOL

We'll handle that when it happens. Usually (from what I've read) the few times it happens, it's a more expensive item and you either list it as needing insurance, or you put a note saying you encourage it and you won't be responsible if something happens if they don't take it. Otherwise, I have my slush fund..the small amount of handling fees. Put anything exta in another bank..use that if you ever have to replace something. Also, when you post, the PO does put all the zip codes on yoru recipe..if someone tries to tell you they didn't get a package, offer to send them a copy of the post office recipe. Don't go into more detail. If it's really lost, then they'll be sure ot let you know. The PO is really pretty good, and seldom loses anything{why do I feel like I'm jinxing you LOL}

Ok guys, I think I'm having the same problems as C. Ann. I got the newer version of Adobe installed, (I had version 4, installed vers. 6). I finally got the program to Display a label, but only if I've checked the test label box. Otherwise it just displays a blank page. And when I try to click out, it freezes my computer. Also, I STILL couldn't figure out how to print. I haven't been putting the DC on my stuff, but I don't like taking chances. I wouldn't mind paying .13, but .55 is a little much. At one time, I was charging 50 cents more for my shipping and including it, but I've been getting better bids with the lower shipping, so I don't know what to do either, but I am very frustrated with the shipper's assistant.

Note to C. Ann-- I LOVE Turbolister though. I think you'll really like it. I never have any problems with it, unless E-bay's having problems, like when they had the probs about a mo. ago with the image hosting thing.

Anyway, if DMRick, or anyone else out there has any suggestions on how to get this thing working right, let me know. Thanks.

I just checked my PO reciepts and they don't put the zip code on but I still decided I need to do something about this extra expense..

Soooooooo.. I just went and ripped all the DC's off the packages except two (I'd had emails from those 2 people and they just "sound" like folks that would haunt me to death if their pkg. wasn't there "yesterday" and I had no way of tracking it)..

Let's hope you're NOT jinxing me 'cause I'll have to "come find you.." LOL;)
