You HAVE to try this!! EBAY your way to DISNEY Part 2!!!!

I'm not upset or anything (yet). More anxious to get my clutter shipped out. Here's my question (finally), how long would you wait while giving her the benefit of the doubt? What should I do next, if I don't get a reply or a money order in the mail by Monday night? How about by the end of next week?

I do the invoice through ebay, then with no contact within the stated three days the reminder through ebay (I agree I don't like it but I like to do it through ebay just so it is recorded through them). Then if on day 7 still not contact I file a NPB alert. If no contact at all I then file my fee on day 17 (10 days after NPB alert).

If I have contact and the bueyr says they are sending payment via money order, I give them 10 days. Then I do the same routine, through reminder through ebay, then if I do not hear within 3 days I file the NPB'er alert.

In your case if I do not hear from by Monday I would file the NPB'er alert, which gives an additional 10 days for them to pay.

Hi. I have an item up for bid and the description says I'll only sell within the US. The highest bidder is from Hong Kong and has a few old negative feedback. The highest bid is at $200. What what you do?

I would sell it to them no question about it. Of course they will have to pay the shipping charges to Hong Kong not the US Shipping. Go to the USPS website and go to international calculator and figure shipping to Hong Kong. Tell them you would be happy to sell to them and that the shipping charges are $XX.XX

Thanks for all the advice.

Buyer replied e-mailed me this one liner this morning - "Payment sent out on Thursday."

Nothing else. No mailing address. I was thinking of requesting it again so that I could get the package ready to ship. But then decided against it. If she's not anxious, why should I rush? Hate to feel like I was nagging someone.

I e-mailed her, thanking her for responding and letting me know that payment was on the way and that I would e-mail again when I received payment and when I ship out.

I'll probably give it a week from Thursday to see if I receive payment.

Please advise......

I had a few auctions close on Saturday. A very prompt buyer paid thru paypal immediately however, she paid as "Christine Jones" and has asked item to ship to "Christine Smith" (fictitious names in example of course) with no message explaining the discrepancy and paypal says address is unverified. I sent an email asking for clarification as to whether she is sending as a gift or has recently changed her name and have received no reply yet. She paid so quickly that it doesn't seem right not to mail today but I want to be certain it's going where she wants it. What should I do now?

If she has plenty of positive feedback, and the item was inexpensive, I would go ahead and mail the item. Otherwise I would wait for a reply to your email to her.

I forgot to change my ebay password on turbo lister and now it's asking me for my old one so i can get the new one on there and i can't REMEMBER THE OLD ONE! is there anything i can do? i've tried all possible passwords that i've used and nothing is working.
thanks,

Changing your name w/ PayPal is a bit of a hassle! You need to fax them a copy of your marriage license. It's been nearly 2 years and I still haven't done it :o

Update:

Got payment from the bidder this morning. She enclosed 4 dollar bills in an envelope. Her winning bid including s&h was only $3.74.

She wrote the name and item of the auction on a price of paper and wrapped the cash in it. Her mailing address was the return address on the envelope. She didn't write anything else, such as keep the change.

So, I sent out her item together plus a quarter taped to the packing slip. I also followed up with an e-mail that her item was mailed and to look for the quarter and not to throw it out.

I guess I over reacted. Thanks.

I have a NPB question. I waited very patienty for 2 people to pay for their purchases. I sent several emails reminding them of payment. No response from either. I filed a NPB with Ebay.
My question is, when can I relist these items? I'd like to get them back up. Do I have to wait 10 days from when I filed the NPB?
Thanks.......

Can someone please explain to me why the "buyers" on eBay can not fathom that we - the "sellers" - can NOT control the United States Postal System???

I just went through a situation where I had to wait for a money order to arrive for a book that I sold.. They buyer paid for Media Mail.. It took the MO 7 days to arrive.. My mailman comes very late in the day so I mailed the book out the very next morning.. Three days later I start getting emails asking where the book is.. I answered them all - via eBay AND non-eBay sources - and then she starts making phone calls to my home - 3 in one day, to be exact..

She is NOT a "new" buyer - has bought books from sellers before - and should be aware that Media Mail is often like a slow boat from China.. If she wants the item "yesterday" then she should upgrade to Priority Mail or Overnight Express..

I just don't understand why people like her hold ME responsible for the speed (or lack of speed) of the Post Office..

I have found that for whatever reason some buyers will just not email you letting you know that payment (check or mo) is on the way. Personally I do not stress out about it until 14 days. I give them a week to mail the check or MO and then a week for it to arrive. I know many consider this too much time (I say contact me within 3 days and payment within 10 days in my TOS) but I have almost always have success. I can send reminder emails, but usually in about 10 days the check or MO will show up with no other contact.

But then, I sell on eBay as a hobby to make money for Disney. I only sell my girls' used clothes and toys, so not really a big deal. Maybe if I were selling for a living I would take a more rigid approach.

I used to ask people to email me within 3 days to give me their shipping addresses--now I just send invoices, the vast majority of people pay via Paypal, and I just don't worry about the few stragglers who pay by check or money order. I will send one reminder (an email saying, "Do you still plan to purchase this item?) after 2-3 weeks, but that's it (except of course for the rare NPB I have to file).

The vast, vast majority of people DO pay, and sending repeated payment reminders, repeatedly emailing them, etc. does not do a bit of good IMO. Also IMO, making threats in the terms of service on auctions ("You MUST email me within 3 days and pay within 7 days or I will give you a NEGATIVE") just scares away the good buyers--I know I avoid bidding on auctions that have so much negativity, because they make it sound like dealing with the seller is going to be a pain.

Hey guys! After all of your wonderful tips and advice - I decided to start selling some extra things on eBay! And so far, it's worked out for me! I was sitting at my desk at work one day - not alot going on and I was looking around eBay to see what was selling... and was wondering what I had that I could sell - of course, being at work, I didn't have access to my digital camera or my "stuff". However, I decided to list the china I received for my first wedding (this stuff had been sitting in the cabinet for 13 years - never touched!) I found pictures of the china on the Noritake website - and was able to start my auction from my desk at work!! (Computer time is harder to come by at home!) So, 5 days later the auctions closed and I am roughly $500 richer! Woohooo!! Reading all of your posts certainly pushed me to get started! Thanks!!

To get your listing fees refunded (if it sells during the relist) you have to wait until you file for your FVF.

Does anyone happen to know if you can use a regular Priority Mail box when shipping something Global Priority Mail? I know I'll need to put Global labels on it when I get to the post office, but I was just wondering if I can use that kind of box.

Thanks

Unfortunately you cant :( in the corner where it says postage needed, in smaller print it says For Domestic Use Only. On the plus side, your local post office should have 2 or 3 different size boxes just for Global Priority Mail.. Mine does!

My local PO doesn't have much of anything!! I do have a plain box I can recycle, but it would have been nice bo be able to use a brand new one. I'm going to drop this off at the BIG regional PO tomorrow. I'll check to see if I can pick up some Global boxes there, for next time.

Thanks!!

I got a negative FB today from a buyer today because they do not like my payment terms. My terms are clearly stated in my auctions TWICE once in the discription, once in the payment terms sections. If you don't like the terms don't bid, it is that simple, right??

I really need some help here with a problem.
I bought an item (actually set of 10 disney pins) and when i received it not all 10 were there as pictured in auction. I was missing two, a Goofy and little mermaid, they were replaced with a pin with no character on it and one that said Disney collecters series (there were actually 2 of these in the 10). In the picture and discription of the auction it says nothing about them having the right to substitue pins etc.
I email the seller yesterday... no responce
What do I do now? Please help !
