You HAVE to try this!! EBAY your way to DISNEY Part 2!!!!

Thanks Robin for persuing this. New thread, new rules! Hope it works out smoothly!

For myself, I think I'll still stick to not giving mine out publicly, since eBay had to straighten out the mess my sales got into when I posted it way back when on this board.

The info posted here has been great! As a primer to ebay (and as I get the kinks out of my digital uploading) I collected my goods and listed what I could on Amazon Marketplace (books, videos). Well, not 24 hours later I have 5 sales!:) ! I'm sure what doesn't sell there will do much better in lots on ebay, but I'm just so excited (and, well SHOCKED) that I'm kicking myself for not doing this before! I'll keep reading, so please keep sharing your tips!

Even though I have posted to this thread, apparently I'm not subscribed (I'm not getting email notices of new posts). This is my attempt to resubscribe to this thread!

I wasn't either. Check your settings. My setting for email notification was off.

Thanks Lisa--that's exactly what happened--my email notification was off. Wonder how that happened!

In the past wek or two there was a problem with many thousand email bouncing back so the webmasters reset everyone to no notifications.

Thanks for the info on Shipping Assistant (whoever it was that posted it!!) I just downloaded it and did a test address label. Looks good. Now my questions - I have some auctions ending soon - do I just print out the label and attach it to the front of the box? What happens when I get to the PO? Not sure what the entire procedure is besides printing out the label :)

Sorry for the dumb questions. Shipping Assistant & buying delivery confirmation are new concepts to me :)

All I do is cut off the part with the shipping info. Then I tape it to my package. I put strips of clear tape across the whole label except where the bar code is. Then I take the package to the P.O. and they weigh it and scan the barcode. If you've chosen delivery confirmation, the cost will come up at first at the P.O. and then after they scan it, the cost comes off if you are shipping priority mail. If you go Media, it costs .13. I do take the other half of the shipping label and make a note on it what the item was that I shipped so I have it for an easy reference. HTH :teeth: Martha

Can you guys post your Ebay IDs so I can take a look at your auctions or is that allowed?

Thanks,
Cinda

Everything she said, except, I tape the entire label, because I use an inkjet printer..and if a drop of water gets on it, it will smear, and that's the end of the confirmation. I was told it's fine, as ling as I use clear tape and put it on with no wrinkles. I've been doing it that way since the first day they offered them on line, with no problems. They can still scan it easily, as long as you use the clear tape and put it on smooth.
I file the "other" half with the paperwork...although I really don't need to, as long as I keep the receipt. The DC numbers are by each package on the receipt.

Thank you to those who replied to my question regarding Shipping Assistant labels. I *think* I understand. It'll probably all fall into place when I take my packages to the po and see what happens there.

Geez! I've waited almost a week since I had a buyer use BIN to make a purchase. I've been anxious to receive the payment and make shipment, but I never had any contact from the buyer. I sent a PayPal invoice and an Ebay invoice two days late hoping to spark a response. I even went to his feedback to see how active he has been, and sure enough he's been around since he made the purchase and he has a decent history of payment. After reviewing the old thread, in my quest to create a FAQ for the BB, I realized that I should probably send a regular email, that PayPal and Ebay may be considered spam by his ISP and could have been filtered as junk or deleted if he thought it was an invoice for his own account. I sent a plain email this morning, copying the details from the PayPal invoice and made the subject "payment request" to reduce the chance of being blocked by the spam filters. I was afraid if I referenced ebay or an item number in the subject line that it could be deleted before the recipient got to read it. The buyer finally responded this afternoon that a payment is coming. Yay!

We just put a couple of things on auction this afternoon.... I'm hoping it's successful!

Help, I need advice from all you ebayers!!!!

I have a couple auctions that ended a while ago (a month or more) and they haven't paid for the items. I haven't sent the items either. I've emailed and gotten responses that they are sending the money but I've never received anything. They both have good feedback so I'm not sure what to do. I'm tried of trying to contact them to get them to pay. I'm tempted to report them to ebay and leave neg. feedback but i'm not sure if I should. Please let me know how you all handle people who do pay for the items purchased. We aren't talking a lot of $ either. One item was $16.50 and the other sold for $6.50.
Thanks!!!

tinkfan4ever:

Have you used eBay's non-paying bidder process? You can go into your "Items I've Sold" page and find those two auctions. There'll be a button to click to send a payment reminder. Ebay will send it for you.

Then, if they don't respond again (don't remember how many days eBay asks you to wait -- I'm sure someone else here does), you can file a non-paying bidder notice with eBay. They will credit your account for your Final Value Fees.

Sometimes getting that payment reminder from eBay is all you need to get a seller to pay up. :)
