"You Guys Are Cast Members... Right?" - A December 2011 TR

yay, almost to the first park of the day!

I totally tear up when I see the suprise videos too! I would love to try that one day, but seriously, there is no way I could keep that a suprise. It would be an epic failure on my part. I would last maybe a week. Maybe, and that's stretching it.

McD's as the first stop? Funny. I have heard that McD's serves different things in different areas. I remember we stopped at one in Hawaii once for breakfast because we had heard that and they had a big breakfast platter with spam and rice. Classic.

Can't wait to see where the first park is - I am guessing MK!

Landing early kind of makes my life. Even if it's only by like 5 minutes.

Nat and I definitely went to the A side in August :lmao: We're all frumps. The excitement is distracting.

BEST SEAT EVER! Whenever I don't get to sit there I get sad. :rotfl:

FERNANDO!?!?! THAT WAS OUR BUS DRIVER IN JANUARY ON OUR VERY FIRST FRUMP TRIP!!

I always tear up at that movie. Because I want to do that for my children someday. SO BAD!

Maybe all of them were silent because they were in complete shock that they actually arrived

YAYY DISNEY! Eww McDonalds. Hopefully you'll get the real Disney food experience soon!

Woo hoo for arriving!! But, yuck for no excitement in the bus! I think it really depends on the driver you get!

I know McDonald's is McDonald's no matter how you dress it up. But, that McDonald's looks very cool and my kids are going to freak if they don't get to eat there soon!

YAY, I love the Magical Express! It's always such a great feeling driving under those arches. Bummer nobody really did anything though. It seems like all the drivers we've had atleast announce that we're about to pass under the arches but some get more excited than others. LOL.

WOOHOO! I love the beginning of trips! :cheer2: It would be so much fun to be able to go with your friends to the world. I can't wait to hear about the rest of your trip.

I always tear up anytime I see videos or commercials of kids getting surprised with Disney trips. I would love to surprise my DS (he's 3) with a trip one day. But, I know I love to talk about Disney way too much for me to ever pull off a surprise trip. :rotfl: Him & I literally talk about Disney every day.

And that was great that you were able to get right onto a bus! Disney magic right from the start!

Can't wait to hear about what park y'all went to 1st. I'm going to guess MK!

Oh my goodness, I do it every single time. It's so hard not to! Glad I'm not the only one hahaha. That would be SO CUTE! I can't blame you for wanting to blab though! It would be so hard not to talk about it!

I know, I was so excited. I literally just walked through the line, and the attendant looks at my card and just sends me out to the bus! It was awesome.

Hmm... well... that's a very good guess. ;)

I love having a rental car when we go to WDW for so many reasons but there is a small part of me that yearns to experience the ride to Disney on the Magical Express.

Well I have a perfect solution for you. Make your brothers drive the rental car while you and your mom soak up the lovely Magical Express experience. Best of both worlds! :rotfl:

Joining in! Sounds like you guys are going to be a good time :goodvibes

Aw thank you! Glad you're here!

I can't believe there wasn't more excitement on the bus! Maybe everyone was just in awe and gobsmacked!
oh, and I think next time I go to Disney I will be wearing sunglasses. Such a good idea. I mean, I already spend too much time watching those surprise videos on youtube while bawling my eyes out with happiness for them. :rotfl:
Hahaha! McDonalds! Don't worry, I travel alot with my work and I used to get mad when people would go to Mcdonalds instead of trying the local food, but now I embrace it. I found out that Mcdonalds around the world serve different things and that makes it sorta cool. Especially if it is just one meal. And in your case it was a quick meal and discounted, awesome!!! I love discounts!

I know, I was so confused. I actually looked around the bus to make sure everyone was alive, and they were all just sitting there looking like they'd rather be at the DMV. :confused3
Yes, definitely go for the sunglasses! That way you can cry as much as you want without scaring the tourists! It's win-win!
Haha, yeah, I mean the funny thing is that I actually like McDonald's. But when I get to Disney, the only thing I'm thinking about is just GOING! I'm a commando hahaha. I mean I realize now that it made sense because we weren't eating dinner until later and it allowed us to save money, but at the time I would have gladly payed full price so I could just go to my favorite park! :lmao:

I won't even tell you how many times I've gone the wrong way to DME in the airport. It's almost it's own tradition by now.

I am so jealous of your front row bus seat! When we arrive it's usually pretty crowded, so I've never been up that close to get a good picture of the WDW sign. And I am the EXACT same way when it comes to the videos of kids getting surprised with Disney trips. I still hope that one day my DH will surprise me with one, but I don't think he could keep it a secret, he'd get too excited haha. And boy! Those people on your bus MUST have been tired, because how does anyone not start to squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee all over the place when you arrive in Disney World??

I want to stay in all of the hotels at some point too, but we haven't been able to afford any of the deluxes yet. One day...

Is that the McDonalds that has some menu items that aren't on the typical McD's menu? I think I remember hearing there is one near WDW like that.

Oh my gosh, yeah. I mean I think our excitement clouds our judgement so we just start walking!

I know, I was so excited to sit in the front! Honestly, I still hold out hope that I'll be surprised with a trip someday, too. BUT at the same time, I'm the one that PLANS the trips, so... not really sure how that would go! :rotfl:

Oh, don't even worry about it, I haven't even been able to go mod yet! Speaking of which, if this whole thing happens in July, where is everyone staying? Because as of right now nobody would be going with me... so I dunno!

Yeah, I think I know which McDonald's you're talking about, but I think that one's off property. This one was smack in the middle of Disney, right near the All Star Resorts and Coronado Springs. It was just a regular old Mickey D's, hahah.

Oh, don't even worry about it, I haven't even been able to go mod yet! Speaking of which, if this whole thing happens in July, where is everyone staying? Because as of right now nobody would be going with me... so I dunno!

As far as hotel rooms go for July, I'm not entirely sure. I think everyone is waiting for discount codes to come out for July before booking anything. I'd probably shoot for a value, just since my H and I are going to Disneyland in November, and I'd want to keep costs down. My H also knows someone through work who rents out their unused DVC points for people, so depending on how much they'd be willing to rent them for, that's an option too. Right now it's just a waiting game for those discounts...

I've never been on an ME bus (I know...so deprived!), but I imagined excitement, hilarity, and over-the-top euphoria erupting when the arch came into view. Well, at least you held up your end!

And I love how you're naming your chapters like Friends episodes...just the BEST. SHOW. EVER. :thumbsup2

You really should someday, because it normally is just like that! However this time all the excitement was coming from me. It was spooky. :rotfl:

AND OH MY GOSH YES! THANK YOU! You are the first person to notice that! I feel like you should get some sort of prize or something hahaha. It is definitely the BEST SHOW EVER, it's my favorite!

I need to go on the ME bus someday. I don't know how I'd survive without a rental car though, which is why I've never been on it. :confused3 I feel like I need to see those movies, though, they sound adorable! I can't believe no one was excited to see the Disney arch!! :scared1: What was wrong with those people? I always start screaming and clapping like a 6 year old, sometimes I even ask my DH to pull over! :rotfl: Ahhh, I love the purple signs! I hate going back to reality and seeing green signs.

When we stayed at ASMu, we lived at that McDonald's, it's nice having it right there on the way to the parks! :thumbsup2

You should do ME someday! It's awesome! Maybe your husband could drive the rental car and you could just ride ME! :lmao: Yeah the movies are seriously the cutest! They just make the experience. I honestly have no idea what was wrong with those people, I really think I was on a bus full of Universal die-hards or something, it was just so weird!

Very true! I mean it's definitely convenient and cheaper than park food. But I just wanted to GOOOOOO! Hahaha, but really.

yay, almost to the first park of the day!

I totally tear up when I see the suprise videos too! I would love to try that one day, but seriously, there is no way I could keep that a suprise. It would be an epic failure on my part. I would last maybe a week. Maybe, and that's stretching it.

Can't wait to see where the first park is - I am guessing MK!

YAY! The first park experience of the trip was one of my favorite parts so I'm excited to write about it!

Aww, I know exactly what you mean. I would love to surprise my kids someday. I bet if you really wanted to surprise her you could keep the secret!

Oh my goodness... spam and rice? That's interesting! Hahaha! No, this was just a regular old McDonald's. :rotfl:

That's an interesting guess... but I'm not gonna say yet! :goodvibes

Landing early kind of makes my life. Even if it's only by like 5 minutes.

Exactly! Landing early is just the best. :goodvibes

Oh my gosh that's so funny. We ARE all frumps. That's exactly what I said to someone else, the excitement just clouds our judgment. Hilarious.

Hahah I know! Best seat ever!

YEAH! Fernando! He was so nice! I just wish he would have made the exciting announcement! Ohh welllll I was excited regardless. Aww that makes me want to watch yall's January frump trip videos again! So cute. :cutie:

I know! I feel the same way. I am totally gonna do that for my kids. It will be awesome.

Ya know, I looked around the bus to make sure everyone was still breathing, but they all just looked bored! HEATHENS!

Hahah I mean I actually like McDonald's, not gonna lie, but you know how it is! I want DISNEY FOOD! And yes there is a lot of it coming up! I'm excited to write about it!

Woo hoo for arriving!! But, yuck for no excitement in the bus! I think it really depends on the driver you get!

I know McDonald's is McDonald's no matter how you dress it up. But, that McDonald's looks very cool and my kids are going to freak if they don't get to eat there soon!

Yay! Yeah, I think that's true. The driver was VERY nice, but I guess that's just not his thing. I was still excited regardless! :)

Hahah aw! Well yeah, it was actually very cool inside! And at least I can say I've been there! I bet your kids would love it. :goodvibes

YAY, I love the Magical Express! It's always such a great feeling driving under those arches. Bummer nobody really did anything though. It seems like all the drivers we've had atleast announce that we're about to pass under the arches but some get more excited than others. LOL.

Me too! It really is. Hahaha I know, I'm not gonna lie it was spooky. Like the whole bus had been chattering the whole time before we got there, and then everyone was just silent. :confused3 Hahaha.

Enjoying so far. Can't wait for more.popcorn::

Aw thank you! I'm glad!

WOOHOO! I love the beginning of trips! :cheer2: It would be so much fun to be able to go with your friends to the world. I can't wait to hear about the rest of your trip.

Hi! I know, the beginning is always just so exciting and fun. Thanks for being here!

Ahhh, okay. Makes sense! Thanks for the info!

Ahhh, okay. Makes sense! Thanks for the info!

No problem! Wish I had more info to tell you, haha. I guess as it gets closer, someone should start a PTR or group email or something to make coordinating a little easier.

No problem! Wish I had more info to tell you, haha. I guess as it gets closer, someone should start a PTR or group email or something to make coordinating a little easier.

That would be great! But I don't wanna like invade anyone's trip or anything because so far you're the only one who's mentioned anything to me haha.

I'm behind already... wow, I fail... Alright well this is me catching up! :teeth:

Oh, I totally know the feeling, it's amazing how long it takes for a trip to come then how quick the trip seems to get here, especially for us who had to wait those many years to actually go once (I definitely don't want to do any more time than I've already had to wait) And don't worry about the tangents, I go off on tangents all the time, the reason why my comments tend to be so long :rolleyes1 Oh, and :thumbsup2 to your ME tickets!

Oh wow, you are very productive on nights prior to Disney. I wish I could stay up late those nights, but everyone in my house would hate me the next day (what a great start to a Disney trip :sad2:) lol I guess I'll try to be quiet on my next trip so time can go by picture.

Wow, you definitely had a lot of changes to how you guys were going to get down in the world, but at least now you were going to be the first day. One up on all of them :thumbsup2 haha Love the shirt your wearing btw, I think someone in my family has that one, but because I'm the only one who wears mine regularly I forget who it is lol

YAY You're off to the airport! LOL @ your dad's status, oh dads lol That is so weird about the whole bag situation while you were in security. Sometimes security can be a really interesting experience. I always feel so weird going through security *shivers* Not a fun place. Even though it was pretty insane for those guys to bring all that stuff, I wonder how they were allowed through :/

WOOT, now you are officially on your way to Disney! :) Oh my gosh, I ask myself the same question about Drew Carey nowadays. I was so used to the Whose Line Carey for years and now he... just looks so different. I'm always second guessing myself while watching that show, even though it is great he lost so much weight :thumbsup2

Can't wait to read more! :mickeyjum

After this I'm all caught up, so I won't be bombarding you with my crazy comments :)

That's awesome you arrived so early! It's so true, any extra time in Florida/TheWorld is always for the better. And the Florida smell :goodvibes It's impossible for someone to not notice that. LOL @ you calling the fake monorail the Schmonorail... a bit more creative, I may have to adopt that lol I'm sorry though you went to the wrong side of the airport. The Magical Express kiosk area is ALWAYS hard to find, it's always good to take note of where you have to go to get there, but as it happened on your trip, you'll always find it :) I'm sorry though you had to go through a gross bathroom, eck!

:thumbsup2 up to having no line at the Magical Express! Long lines are never fun :sad2: LOL @ the attendants fighting over who would attend to you. Everyone's a child again in Disney world ::yes:: Stickers are always awesome especially DISNEY stickers! :cool1: And that's cool you got to ride on a Disney Water Parks bus. I've really only ridden on the regular buses (I don't count return buses :( ) And that's awesome they were playing so much MK music on the bus :cloud9: Oh how I want to be there, Right. Now.

Way for your friends to be there before you, you must've disappointed you didn't have a one up... or would I just feel that way if I was travelling with friends? LOL Well, at least you weren't going to be alone for long :thumbsup2 Another thumbs up to "The Movie", love the movie! :goodvibes I wanted a surprise trip too growing up even after my first trip, it would just make my day so I hope to give my own trip someday :woohoo: And I love that Donald Duck cartoon, even though I'm a Pluto guy, Donald is still awesome :) YAY for going under the Golden Gates, the best sight in all the world, the gates to heaven... it amazes me how your whole bus was silent, usually the driver does make an announcement and then everyone has major freak-out moments... strange bus lol

That's so cool how you've stayed at all the All Stars. It's always an accomplishment in Disney when you stay at three connected resorts (Monorail Resorts, BoardWalk Resorts, etc.) Though all the Disney resorts, even better! ::yes:: LOL @ the Retro-Disney reference, miss all those shows *sigh* Why did they have to ruin Disney Channel?!?!?! :sad2:

Awwww... that's so sweet all your friends were waiting for you. LOL @ you guys piling into one car, but at least you were in Disney piling into a small car haha And that's awesome how you went to McDonald's for your first meal  I'm sorry, but at least you got use of a discount and got to eat quickly :thumbsup2

Can't wait to read more! :mickeyjum

I'm behind already... wow, I fail... Alright well this is me catching up!

You don't fail! I did two updates pretty close together so I think a few people missed them.

Definitely! We've waited long enough! Hahah it's okay.

Oh wow, you are very productive on nights prior to Disney. I wish I could stay up late those nights, but everyone in my house would hate me the next day (what a great start to a Disney trip) lol I guess I'll try to be quiet on my next trip so time can go by picture.

I mean I guess I was productive! I think it was just I was wide awake so I was like... what can I do now?! Hahah.

We really did! Well I was gonna be first but after all the changes... it didn't end up that way! :rotfl: Oh thanks! Yeah I had to get a shirt with the year on it on my first trip!

Haha my dad is hilarious. I know I'm always so worried that I'm gonna look suspicious because I'm always kinda nervous. I'm innocent I swear! I actually think the security guards just threw their stuff away. Or maybe they found a way to get the stuff into their checked luggage? I really have no idea hah.

WOOT, now you are officially on your way to Disney! :) Oh my gosh, I ask myself the same question about Drew Carey nowadays. I was so used to the Whose Line Carey for years and now he... just looks so different. I'm always second guessing myself while watching that show, even though it is great he lost so much weight.

Yeah I give him a lot of credit! But he just looks so weird haha.

After this I'm all caught up, so I won't be bombarding you with my crazy comments.

Don't worry I like comments!

That's awesome you arrived so early! It's so true, any extra time in Florida/TheWorld is always for the better. And the Florida smell :goodvibes It's impossible for someone to not notice that. Hahah yeah I just love the Florida smell. There's just no other word to describe it then 'Florida' hahah, but really. Feel free to call it the schmonorail all you want! Because that's pretty much what it is! I know, I don't know what it is about Magical Express but I always end up on a wild goose chase trying to find it! It's okay, I could have left the gross bathroom but I figured I didn't want to waste any time once I actually got to Magical Express!

:thumbsup2 up to having no line at the Magical Express! Long lines are never fun :sad2: LOL @ the attendants fighting over who would attend to you. It was awesome! I figured it would be busier because it was mid-December but I was very much okay with it being empty! Hahah it was so cute, and I loved my sticker! Sadly it fell off in the midst of all my park fun but it will appear in some pictures still stuck to my shirt haha. I LOVED the music they were playing! It made me even MORE excited! And me too.:sad2:

Way for your friends to be there before you, you must've disappointed you didn't have a one up... or would I just feel that way if I was travelling with friends? Well I knew they'd be there before me because of the change of plans! I might need to re-word that on that post... hmm... I love them all! But for some reason I just love Donald the best! I know I still can't believe my bus was so silent! And I'm pretty sure they were looking at ME like I was crazy. Oh people.

That's so cool how you've stayed at all the All Stars. It's always an accomplishment in Disney when you stay at three connected resorts (Monorail Resorts, BoardWalk Resorts, etc.) Though all the Disney resorts, even better! LOL @ the Retro-Disney reference, miss all those shows *sigh* Why did they have to ruin Disney Channel?!?!?!

Yeah I think it's pretty cool too! I even got a pin to commemorate (that you will see later haha) but I think I'm definitely ready to move on from the All Stars for a while! Stay on another street in Disney, maybe. :rotfl: And I really don't know why they had to ruin Disney Channel, but it is just beyond dumb now. Grr.

Awwww... that's so sweet all your friends were waiting for you. LOL @ you guys piling into one car, but at least you were in Disney piling into a small car haha And that's awesome how you went to McDonald's for your first meal. I'm sorry, but at least you got use of a discount and got to eat quickly :thumbsup2

Definitely! At the time though I was just like umm discounts schmiscounts can I please get to the park already? But it all worked out!

Can't wait to read more! :mickeyjum

Thanks for commenting!

To me, the Magical Express driver sets the tone for the ride. If he/she gets on the bus and warmly greets people and then builds up the excitement as the bus approaches the arch, it allows people who want to woo-hoo to woo-hoo. :thumbsup2 We've had all levels of drivers, from one who said nothing - nothing, as in hello, what stops we'll be making, we're here, spoke not a word nothing - to ones that have set an excited tone from the minute they boarded the bus.

I look forward to seeing your pictures. Looks like a fun group!

I agree! The driver was really friendly but I guess the whole "WELCOME TO DISNEY WORLD" speech wasn't his thing. I can't believe that a ME bus driver would ever be completely silent though! That's so crazy.

Thanks so much for joining!

In all truthfulness I always get the Happy Meal at McDonald's because toy! and reasonable amount of food! It's fun. :)

I think it would be fun to stay at all the resorts but my boyfriend is a little hesitant to stay at the values. I liked All-Star Movies when I was there, though. The big icons were really cute.
