"You Guys Are Cast Members... Right?" - A December 2011 TR

Yay!! You made it!! :woohoo: How strange that everyone was silent going through the arch! My mom and I always are so giddy and excited!! I'd love to stay at every hotel on Disney property someday, but I find my favorites and don't want to NOT stay there! Sorry your first meal was McDonalds, but you're right - it's quick and easy so you can go and enjoy your day! Can't wait to hear about it!! :goodvibes

In all truthfulness I always get the Happy Meal at McDonald's because toy! and reasonable amount of food! It's fun. :)

I think it would be fun to stay at all the resorts but my boyfriend is a little hesitant to stay at the values. I liked All-Star Movies when I was there, though. The big icons were really cute.

Toy! You know, I didn't even think to get a kid's meal. My judgment was clouded by my excitement, apparently.

Aw, I can understand that. I will say that my experience in the value resorts has been all positive though. All Star Movies was my favorite! They're all really cute but that one felt the most 'Disney' to me. :)

I'm here! I just saw the TR in your signature line!!

Now to go back and get caught up!

Oh thank you for coming over! I hope you enjoy! :goodvibes

WE MADE IT! :goodvibes Hahah that is something I will seriously never understand. I know what you mean! I have resorts picked out in my head that I think I would love the most, but I want to wait and see how I feel once I stay there! But honestly that will probably happen! Hahah it's okay. I actually like McDonald's, just not at Disney! Thanks, I think I'll be updating tomorrow!

Awesome! Thanks for coming over, hope you enjoy!

The One With A Hop, Skip, and A Boat Ride

December 14, 2011

After our nutritious meal of all meals at the random McDonald’s in the middle of Disney property, we headed back out to Jenelle’s car to head to our first park of the trip!

It was at this moment that we all realized that we were outside, in the middle of December, wearing t-shirts, and we were completely COMFORTABLE. It was honestly one of the best feelings in the world.
It had been a lot colder in December 2010. Still not freezing, but cold enough to where we needed our jackets and scarves at night. I can say that on this trip I didn’t put on long sleeves of any kind until we were on our way back home! It was amazing!

After that fantastic realization, we piled back into the car and headed straight for our destination!

Does this give you a clue where we were headed?

SDC12320.jpg

It really shouldn’t. I feel like I see that sign/billboard no matter where I’m heading at Disney.

Actually, we were on our way to the world of yesterday, tomorrow, and fantasy!

We were going to a place where dolls from all over the world bond through song and mice conduct orchestras.

We were going to a place where you can find the backside of the water and ghosts FOLLOW YOU HOME.

Most importantly, we were going to the place where IT’S ALL WHAM.

If you guessed Animal Kingdom, well… you might wanna get that checked out…

YAY MAGIC KINGDOM!!!!

After we passed through those beautiful, colorful gates, we were directed to a perfect parking spot on the HERO side of the parking lot! In the midst of my euphoria, I forgot exactly where we parked. I feel like we were in the Simba section, but I can’t remember! (SHAME ON ME.)

Something I had never realized before was that the Magic Kingdom parking lot is right next to the Richard Petty Driving Experience track. That thing’s loud, yall. All we heard all the way through the parking lots was "VROOOOOOOOOOOOOOM."

Anyways...

This was the first time I had ever taken anything other than Disney transportation to the parks. It wasn't my favorite.

Don’t get me wrong, if you told me you were going to strap me to a parachute and that I had to jump, but would land in the Magic Kingdom, I’d be happy. Terrified, but happy. It's just that driving took so long! I was so beyond ready at this point to just BE THERE!

We first had to take a tram. We were parked very close to it, and it was there waiting for us, so that was actually very convenient! The tram took us to the Ticket and Transportation Center.

When we got to the TTC, we decided to take the monorail to the park! Obviously. We waited at the station for a few minutes, and the entire time, Amanda and I were quoting Spanish monorail guy. Of course. We’re Disers. Did you expect anything less?

“Por favor mantengase alejado de las puertas.”

That’s only the best phrase in the entire world. I mean really. If you want to make me squeal in delight, just say that to me. It doesn’t even have to be in the voice. It’ll still work. :thumbsup2

Finally, it was time for us to board THE MONORAIL! I was so excited, I may have knocked a few people over. Not kidding, I was taking a video and in the video I say, “OH SORRY!” Then I continue squealing.

I was just in a hurry to STAND CLEAR OF THE DOORS. They were open, but you really never know with those things. Sneaky!!!

We were waiting very happily on Monorail Silver, ready for it to whisk us off to the Magic Kingdom.

Instead, we heard an announcement.

“Monorail Silver is scheduled to run some routine tests.”

Actually, I’m not even sure what the announcement said. All we knew was that we couldn’t wait any longer to get to the Magic Kingdom, and staying on the monorail meant we would have to. So we got off. (DON’T WORRY. WE WILL RIDE THE MONORAIL LATER.)

We headed to the ferry instead!

TTC-marquee.jpg

My sister and I went to NYC this summer and we rode the Staten Island Ferry.

(“STATEN ISLAND?!” Oh my goodness, does anyone remember that exact quote from the movie It Takes Two with my childhood heroes Mary Kate and Ashley? Cool.)

The Magic Kingdom ferry is literally the same thing as said ferry from SA.
Only, instead of taking you from Staten Island to Manhattan, it takes you from the TTC to the Magic Kingdom. Instead of the big focal point being the Statue of Liberty, it’s Cinderella’s Castle. (You tell me which one you like better. ;))

Other than that it is the exact same thing. It was deja vu.

When the ferry was docking, we looked up and saw none other than Monorail Silver gliding past. Hahaha, oh well. It was basically the same amount of time, and now I can say I’ve been on the Disney ferry! We walked up to the entrance, went through bag check, and scanned our tickets (and index fingers). It was time to enter.

THE MOMENT OF TRUTH!!!!

My year of waiting was finally over. I was actually entering my favorite part of my favorite place. Do yall know how exciting this was? (Of course you do. This is a Disney Trip Report… you’re not here because you hate it!)

Our excitement was contagious. I think if you add together all six of our ages, it comes to about 30. Wouldn’t have it any other way!

We entered the Most Magical Place on Earth, and I am not even kidding, we all just kinda stopped and looked around. I was giggling like a maniac.
I have proof of both of these events on video, haha, uhhh, nobody needs to see that one ever.

Isn’t the Main Street Train Station... beautiful? (Hint, hint: possible foreshadowing. DUN DUN DUN!)

SDC12584.jpg

The Christmas decorations in Magic Kingdom are just phenomenal. They’re exactly that: magical.

SUDDENLY, IT HAPPENED…

WE SAW THE CASTLE!!!!

SDC12266.jpg

Is that not the most beautiful thing ever? I can never get enough of this sight.

In case you were wondering, YES OF COURSE I was crying behind my sunglasses. Majorly. I played it off really well though.

While we were gazing upon the castle in astonishment, I PROMISE you the following words came out of my mouth:

“OH MY GOSH. Is this real, like are we here right now?”

I know. I have such a way with words.

Sally came back with, “IS THIS REAL LIFE?” ala David after Dentist. Classic.

I told you we’re not in our 20’s. Not even close.

To add to our excitement, all the way down Main Street we saw the end of the Celebrate A Dream Come True Parade! I had actually never seen this parade in person, so I was ecstatic. I’m not really sure what anyone else was doing because I was in my own little world.

I started frolicking down Main Street and waving my arms and singing “WHEN YOU CLOSE YOUR EYES THEN YOU REALIZE, ANY DREAM IS POSSIBLE!!!!”

People were staring. I could have cared less. I have no shame.

After we realized we were aimlessly wandering down Main Street, we decided to try to hit up Big Thunder Mountain. Only, we realized that the parade would be heading to Frontierland. NEXT IDEA!

We decided to head to Haunted Mansion instead! So we started dodging crowds and ducking through stores and suddenly we had caught up with the parade! We were able to catch the very end with the princes and princesses!

We stood and watched for a minute or two, and we were yelling, “LOOK THERE’S TIANA AND NAVEEN! OH I SEE THE BEAST! THERE’S ALADDIN AND JASMINE!” You know, the normal stuff that people in their 20's get excited about. I think I yelled “ERIC! ERIC!” about a million times, and he smiled and waved. I melted.

SUDDENLY we found ourselves RIGHT BEHIND THE PARADE ROPE! It was hilarious. One minute we don’t know a parade’s even going on, and the next, we’re at the end of it.

Yeah, that was a good guess! Especially since this was the first time that MK was my first park! So yay!

Aw thank you! I'm glad the excitement came across. Oh gosh yes, Christmas at Disney really is the best. When are you going? If we went again it would probably be around December 12. 12/12/12! That'd be pretty amazing.

BEAUTIFUL castle picture!!! :thumbsup2

Ahhh, I love Disney in December!! The weather is perfect! I am sooo jealous right now as I can hear the freezing cold wind whipping through the trees! :scared1: I don't even want to look at the snow we've been bombarded with!!

Oh, and I know exactly what you mean about the monorail phrase! I say it all the time, and my BF looks at me like I'm crazy!- I just gotta take him so he'll understand!

I can't wait to hear about your first day!!

Oh thank you!

Oh my gosh, isn't it though? I wish I was there right now too. Although around here, we haven't had any snow yet. Sorry about that! How much did yall get?

Hahha it is seriously the best phrase ever. It's so much fun to quote! Oh yeah, once he goes on the monorail, he will understand. :thumbsup2

Aw I'm glad. Sorry it's taking me forever to actually get to our first RIDE! Hahaha I guess I'm a little detailed...:rolleyes1

Thank you! I hope you enjoy! Hahahha I'm glad I'm not the only one. I know, everything Disney makes me sentimental and emotional haha. I'm going to see Beauty and the Beast in 3D today and I just KNOW I'm gonna cry haha.

Also, I couldn't help but notice that we are the same age and we live in the same state... hmm... I might have to PM you later!

That's so awesome. Do you know where you're staying yet? That would be so cool if we were there at the same time! :goodvibes

Where are we staying? That is the million dollar question! :lmao: As of right now, we are booked for CR. However, we just signed a contract this week on a house that's being built. So, I'm thinking I want to save some money on our trip so I'll have some shopping money for some things I'll want for the house. I think I'm going to move us to POP. But, I still have to talk to my DH about it. Have you looked into different places for a Dec. trip?

ETA: As you can see from my ticker below, I have officially moved us to POP!

Well, what a way to start off the day! :lmao: I also feel the magic when we walk though the gates at MK. I just want to stand there for a moment and take it all in.

I can feel the smile just take over my face.:cloud9:

Oh my gosh! what?! Marissa doesn't remember where we parked?! Ha! So much for you're awesome memory, huh? Well I'll tell you... It was Peter Pan!!!!!!! And yes, I know, I would remember that because I love him!!!! Anyways, I really like this TR so far, good job! I love that picture of Sally!!! I was so excited when we were walking into MK, I just love that place and the fact that HM was our first ride, my favorite ride, made it all the more magical!!! Yay for Magic Kingdom and yay Haunted Mansion!!!! Can't wait to hear more and hopefully I'll be posting one soon enough.

p.s. por favor matengase alejado de las puertas (can't wait for Ecuador!)

p.s.s. Thanks for watching Beauty and the Beast in 3D with us today! I honestly had forgotten how much I love that movie! Ah, it was awesome! And don't worry, I wasn't judging when I caught you crying ;)

Yay, great update! It always seems like it takes forever to get to MK. Even when you stay at an MK resort it still takes forever.

I love the Christmas decorations, they's so beautiful! I love the MK tree, even though it gets a little bendy at the top, did you notice that? In all my pictures it just looks slightly crooked...

Ahhh, the best part of walking into MK is seeing the castle for the first time! :cool1: I cry behind my sunglasses too, it's nice because my DH rarely catches me crying, if he did, I'd probably never hear the end of it! I don't know how I've sobbed through Illuminations so many times (without sunglasses too, since it's at night!) and he hasn't caught me yet! :rotfl:

yippee for MK!! You sounds so magically excited! It's fabulous!

Just read your intro and I'm definitely going to follow along with your trip. It sounds like so much fun!!

Well I think Pop will be awesome! That seems to be the favorite value resort around these parts haha. So it should be great!

As far as resorts go for us, well, the trip isn't official and probably won't be for a while! But I think that if we did go we'd either do a value again or possibly a cabin at FW? Not sure yet! :) Although if you ask me I'd be alright going up in the world and trying a moderate!

Um, RUDE! :lmao: I'm doing pretty good though, I didn't end up writing anything down at all so... THERE! And of course as soon as you said that it all came flooding back to me. Anyways thanks! I'm glad you like it. I told Kristen this too, but if I leave anything out just let me know! Gotta be thorough! Yeah the pic of Sally actually came from the video I took! I think it's cute. YEAHH HM YEAHH MK WOO!

Um, Ecuador? Lame.

ALSO of course! I know I felt the same way, it's just such an amazing movie. Good, glad you didn't judge me. BECAUSE YOU SHOULDN'T! I'm emotional sometimes alright?! Hahah.
