Yes! Michael Vick Indicted

Hell yeah he is responsible for what goes on in his house and on his property. Even if he was never there during a one of the events (and many reports says he was) he is still ultimately responsible for what was found there and possibly what was done there if the evidence supports illegal activity.

Very similiar to if I had teenagers (my kiddos are a few yrs away) and they threw a party at my house when I wasn't home and served alcohol. If something happened to one of those kids, I would be responsible even if I wasn't home.

This is a very sad and sickening story!

I just overheard a mild manner person make this comment after hearing about vick.

"I never had any use for it, I now have the perfect use of an electric cattle prod you know where"

If you knew this person it would have floored you hearing him say it.

Even if he is found guilty on the Surry County charges and on the Federal charges, let's just say that he maybe serves a year or two or perhaps pays a fine. Michael Vick has effectively lost ALL sponsorship moneys now and in the future, regardless of what the NFL & what the courts do. That money would have been most of his present and future income. Unless he is completely vindicated, no company will ever hire him as a spokesman or ask him to endorse their products.

agnes!

Michael Vick is a foul excuse for a human being - good riddance. We have so many VT fans around us that allowed their kids to worship him and I was always so amazed that they couldn't see (or did not care) about the person off the field. You'd be hard pressed to find any of them able to defend this scumbag now, thank heavens.

Despite the outcome of the charges the people looking for him to pay big should get used to the idea of him getting very little. If what I heard this morning is true, the max sounded like 6 years which means somebody with the money Vick has will get less, maybe much less. I also doubt he will be doing any time with anybody that could take him physically.

Not necessarily the way it should be, but it is the way it is.

I agree with you. It's not right, but it's what will happen. My hope is that this will get him OUT of pro football. He is a vile man.

No sponsorship money for sure (at least not any for a few years) but after the initial suspension he'll probably be back playing in the NFL. It's not like there are not other criminals playing on other teams. Once they have done their time they are allowed to come back.

It's the No Fun League, not the No Criminals League.

Two words.

It's not just Vick's own sponsors that will head for the hills (and believe me, they will). The sponsors for the Atlanta Falcons or any team that employs this sub-human garbage (as well as the NFL sponsors) will be getting pressure as well. The Humane Society and others will be all over this and they won't relent. Nor should they. You think the NFL wants to deal with that? This scum will and should lose his career.

Americans have short memories and attention spans. If convicted he'll do his time, apologize and say he'll never do it again, and then he'll be back. Not saying its' right, just the way it works. If enough people cared there wouldn't already be convicted criminals in the NFL and the Bengals and Vikings franchises would no longer exist.

ray lewis was found not guilty of murder i believe at his trial and he is considered a top players for Baltimore.

None of these guys get it, its really sad. I dont understand why the NFL or the falcons havent suspended him pending trial. Even though pac man had many offenses he hasnt been federally indicted and found guilty but is out for the season. Vicks alleged crimes are much worse than his.
This will cost atlanta alot of $ and I dont know if Arthur Blank ( i believe that his name) the owner of the falcons will do whats right.

Cruelty to animals is not going to be as easily forgiven. Sorry, but it's true. Someone gets shot in a barfight, or a strip joint, or does a pile of drugs we don't really care....but cruelty to animals. Nope. Attention spans are not that short, sorry.

Having volunteered in a local animal shelter and seen the suffering animals, especially the pits, are put through, all I can say is :sad1: .

I never understood the fairness of that Ray Lewis incident and thought he should have served some time, IMO, and been suspended from the NFL.
Ray Lewis was never tried or convicted for murder, but was found guilty of the crime of obstructing justice. There's reports of him saying to his buddies who just stabbed two men, that "this **** will ruin my career", this according to the limo driver who testified. Most people would have been stunned that their friends help start a fight and killed two men in cold blood, but the first the words out of his mouth were about the damage to his career.

He tried to cover his butt and lied through his teeth when the police questioned him and his crew. He got off with a slap on the wrist and no suspension from the NFL. That whole case reeked of what's wrong with Pro athletes, the people that surround them, and how being a star athlete gets you preferential treatment.

I just hope Vick doesn't get the same treatment or breaks Ray Lewis did. I can only pray that the right thing is done in this case. It was his property and he was selling those dogs on (Vick's K9 kennels.com), which has been taken down since this story has broke. There's reports of video being shot at one of the big fighting matches that has him in it, cheering it on and betting big dollar amounts.

I doubt MV will be loking to become a coach or get in the HOF anytime soon.

If your point is he will be banned for life, it's seriously doubtful Gene Upshaw and the rest of the players union would stand for that. Not when so many other players get convicted of more serius crimes and only get fines and suspensions.

I agree with you, but I am sort of hoping some groups like PETA or the Humane Society to stay up his butt and make it next to impossible for the public to forget.

If he's not going to do the time, I would like to see him professionally ruined. Hitting him in the pocketbook is probably what would bother him the most anyways.

As I said last night, IF GUILTY, I hope Vick gets punished and his career is ruined. However, I can always look to Leonard Little -the drunk driving, murdering, defensive lineman of the Rams -for a bit of perspective. Little is still playing; because of that one man I thoroughly detest that franchise. Vick isn't even indicted for killing any human beings, so while he can probably look forward to being traded to Oakland soon -and losing a ton of endorsements, I can't imagine his punishment (legal or professional) will be all that severe. That makes me

I just hope the Humane Society stays on Goodell's rear end regarding this case.

They can do what they want, but I'm sure there are groups they are hounding now that all are but ignoring them and they are not getting much press coverage. Right now this is obviously getting maximum press coverage, but it doesn't mean that will always be the case. Especially if he plays the PC game well and quietly takes his punishment.

I'm thinking the State charges will never happen...

From what I can tell, the max fine is $350,000 and 6 years in jail. Since this is *technically* his first offense, I'm guessing he'll get probation and maybe some (or all) of the fine.

But tell me, what's $350,000 to someone who makes MILLIONS for "16 weeks of work".

He deserves much more than he'll get, unfortunately.
