Just my opinion and I know many others that really enjoy it there. I'm just a lounge snob I guess

. I usually get up pretty early and like having a place to hang out, read my guide books or whatever. I guess it was just that first impression of having to sit on the chair outside the lounge while they did the morning set up. I couldn't see any reason for it either, because there are main doors which lead to the seating area and a back service door that enters into the food area. It's not like someone sitting on the sofa is going to bother what their doing

. Plus, I'm sure it was our timing, but whenever we got back from the parks, it seemed like they were getting ready to close up the lounge. We got our snacks, but had to bring them back to the bedroom to eat.
You mentioned something about the extra space? Did you mean the room or the lounge? The room sizes are the same. I think that the BC has slightly larger concierge rooms and the deluxe concierge at BW fits 5 and are very nice from what I've heard.
If you want to have some surprises waiting, you can go through Disney mail order. They're a park shopping service and will try and find what you're looking for. They can leave it at the YC gift shop for you to pick up when you arrive.
Feralpeg (another DIS'er, just click on her name for the website) does some nice gift baskets too. They would probably be left at the reservation desk for you. If you really wanted something delivered to the room,
www.disneyflorist.com is on-site and will deliver. You can talk to them about a custom basket.
