i'm so excited. 11 more days! i feel like i obsess over disneyland, after staying up until 1am looking up shut down disneyland rides, and then waking up at 7, not being able to go to sleep, so finished looking up the rest of the rides that have been shut down. does anyone else feel like this? haha i am like a giddy little kid. =) anywho, i was kind of wondering what the little kids rides are like? in fantasy land, like mr. toads wild ride, alice in wonderland, and the other ones? i have never been on them because i figured they would not be very fun, but am i wrong?

I have 2 DD princess: (5 & 2 1/2 -- they were 4 & 1 1/2 during our trip last year)
We went last year and rode "Snow White's Scary Adventures" and Peter Pan. The queue for Peter Pan was unbelievable and we went as soon at the park opened straight to it. I think a lot of people must do that too. :-) The girls were not that impressed with Peter Pan they had some trouble seeing down on the floor around us in the "ship". Snow White was another story. My girls are both pretty brave and I had talked to them about the scary witch in the story of snow white. I kind of built it up so the girls were almost searching for her. My girls loved this ride and we went on it 3 times but there again -- they are girls who love Disney princesses.

Once we had done these 2 we decided to skip the others as there were no "recognizable" characters in them for my kids and there were other rides we wanted to enjoy more. They all seemed fairly similar to me when I read about them in the Unofficial Guide.

Hope this helps some. :surfweb:

oh my gosh i am TOTALY like a kid with it! disney brings out the kid in alllll of us, even the "macho" men! lol. and i LOVE those kids rides. i think they are great. they are not thrill rides, but for the theme of it, and they are wonderful! definetely try them! our trip isnt till NEXT summer and i have problems falling asleep when its on my mind! i was up til 1230 lastnight looking at different flights and disney stuff! lol

ok i don't feel so baddd! haha, it makes me feel like a kid again, being outta high school for a year and straight into college i've had to grow up a ton, so disneyland helps me even it out a little bit. =) and thanks for the help! we will be there for 5 days so i will definitely check those rides out. what rides at california adventure should i check out? i have only been on cali screamin, the rapids one, and tower of terror, but this is the boyfriends first time going there. it has probably developed a lot more since the last time i was there, so what do you recommend? :yay:

I feel the same as you. I'm constantly checking this forum, it's really like an addiction ;) We're going to be there also in 11 days (May 23) and also for 5 days at the park, very similar to you! We're taking our 5 year old though so for sure we will do the Fantasyland rides, but even if we weren't taking him I would probably do some of them, especially since we have the time.

I'm not an expert in California Adventure but if you haven't done Soarin' over California I would highly recommend you do that this trip! :goodvibes

OOOH Those days are going to fly by now. Its so exciting isnt it??? This is the best part. The wait is half the fun. It gets even more fun once you hit the 10 day mark which your basically at. Its so close but yet just a little out of reach. What a horrible but wonderful tease.

gosh you tell me! lol. i havent been to disney in 10 years! it will be my first time in Cal adventure. i can not WAIT! it was such a tradition! we used to go ALL the time when we lived in nevada, i mean, it was tradition! but then my mom and i moved to illinois about 7 years back and so i havent been since! and this will be my husbands and sons first time EVER, actualy my husbands never even been out of illinois besides or recent family visit to missouri. its crazy and i cant wait to get him there! cant wait to hear your trip report! i hope you have a blast! i love SM, SP and the mansion. some of my favs!

ahhh the tension is killing me! i just got out of school so i have to wait for these two whole weeks and don't have much i can do! ten days tomorrow, it's going to kill me, haha. this will be the longest time i have ever been at disneyland too, so i am so excited!:cheer2: i will be sure to come on here and post about my trip, once i get out of my depressed mode which is bound to come when i am heading back to arizona! =/ haha.

ten years huh? that's way too long of a wait! i live in arizona, so it's not that hard for my boyfriend and i to gather coins (which paid for one 3 for 5 day ticket!) and go! i saved up money when i worked at cold stone, and he has a full time job. so, cut back on movies and eating out, and you get a wonderful vacation! he is just as obsessed with disneyland as i am. i ride indiana jones, haunted mansion, and splash mountain all the time on youtube. =)

we went for a "sneak preview" trip (as i called it) in march, we knew we were going in may, but i was watching indiana jones on youtube and i told him i wanted to go. this was a friday night. so i talked him into it, concidered our money and found out we would be able to afford it, and we fell asleep early on friday (well, he did, but i was so anxious i didn't sleep a minute), and woke up at 3am on saturday, drove to disneyland and wound up there around 9 or 10. i slept maybe an hour or two in the car, and went to disneyland until we finally got off of indiana jones at 1am. went to our hotel, and i finally crashed. i could not believe that i was able to go for the whole day using only two hours of sleep. it must be that disney high i get every time i go! the trip was fantastic! =) sorry, so long, but i can't stop thinking about disneyland!

if i don't seem like enough of a freak, i recorded the space mountain theme song and it's my ringtone.
:dancer:

is it just me or does every day that is closer to my vacation seem longer than the last? the anticipation is killing me! haha, and i keep seeing the commercials for disney saying "you're invited." and such. so for the magic morning, what rides can you ride? because i saw someone say that you can ride space mountain for some reason.

Let me break it down like this...

oh. I mean like this .. I believe it has been scientificall proven that when a person is within a week of their DLR trip, the hours in the day officially expand to 28 hours a day! lol! There has to be data on this somewhere. I am excited for your trip, you will have a blast. BTW, Walt made these parks for people like us , so that we could be a kid again from the time we arrived until...well.... we have retold our trip to everyone we know...!!!:rotfl:

BTW, must ride, SOarin at DCA. I love that ride! I missed the MOnsters Inc. ride b/c it kept breaking down, but want to see it badly this upcoming trip.
As for the Fantasyland rides. They are a must for our trips, with or without DD. These are classic rides and as much as I fret about riding kiddie rides with DD when the local fair comes to town, THese rides are different ,,, they have theme and IMHO are amazing. I love, love, love Peter Pan and DD loved ALice in Wonderland and wanted to ride it twice last trip (she was only 1 at the time). Unfortuanately we also had to ride the teacups 3 times, can you say dizzy? My plan for these rides is to always do the MM early entrance and even during the peak season we have waited less than 3 minutes for these rides.
Have agreat time and take lots of pics!

You know - I too thought I'd get bored & even planned on staying away from the "darker" rides like Pinocchio or Snow White for my then, 3yo's sake - but they were all entertaining, if not the detail then the artwork was fun to look at & the dark rides didn't even phase him.....they're totally worth it. They're the originals & part of the history. :thumbsup2

The only "kiddie ride" I can do w/o is Roger Rabbit. OY! All that spinning & loud music & bright colors.....the Teacups are easier on the brain! :headache:

yeah disneydreamer i believe i heard that on the news before. and it sucks! i think i also heard about a disease that you can get after you suffer from being away from disney for too long. and it sucks! :scared: naw, but i am definately a more positive person before my trips!

ahh, the rides sound a little better than i thought. if you get to look at a bunch of stuff, i think i'm going to try them. i am going to use my MM on thursday when we leave around 3pm. so we will be there early and spend about 7 hours there before we leave HOME. i want to live in the castle. i want to work at disneyland, and be tinkerbell and fly across the sky. that would be sooooo fun. hahaha. =):tink:
