Yachtsman or Narcoossee’s?

We've eaten at both places several times. For steak, go to YSH. For anything else, go to Narcoossee.

The views were stunning; the hostess, bartender, and waiter bent over backwards to make us happy; the food was delicious, especially the almond cheesecake; and we cannot wait to dine there again on our next trip.

We had dinner at Yachtsman on New Year’s Eve one year. It was nice, but we never felt compelled to return.

Both *should* be fine, maybe even great, so just choose the one that appeals or has the better location for you.

We didn’t return to Yachtsman for several years after an all-around crappy experience and, when we finally did last year, it was amazing, our favorite meal of the trip. Conversely, after several great meals there, Narcoossee’s was absolutely terrible last year, service and food both (except the always excellent almond cheesecake). I do have to say that Narcoossee’s did make it right eventually, but it wasn’t a good moment for the restaurant. We will return eventually, just not this next trip.

My wife and I celebrated our delayed honeymoon at narcoossee’s over Christmas. I had the surf and turf and the lobster was amazing. One of the best meals I have had on property. Also, the almond cheesecake is phenomenal.

Yachtsman is on our “never go back” list. We have gone there multiple times and had to send back steak, found it too salty on others, and other times had overall poor experiences. Narcoossee’s was good (my DW did not really love it) but a little less upscale than some of the other restaurants in GF. I enjoyed it but good not great. Choosing between the two is really first world problems though- wherever you end up I’m sure you will have a great time!

I'd got to Shula's or Boathouse if paying out of pocket, but between Narcoossee's and Yachtsman I'd go with Yachtsman. I think the food is better, although the atmosphere at Narcoossee's is better for me. I'd actually go to California Grill over either of the other Disney options.

And I'd just take Uber straight from POR to wherever you go (unless you go to Boathouse then the boat)--much quicker than taking the boat then Uber.

No one actually asked this question?

DDP, TIW, or OOP?

There are better, or poorer, dining options, based on what your economic plans are.

Narcoosee's, OOP... although actually I had Disney VISA rewards points to pay with, so I got a 10% discount on the food AND didn't have to pay actual money, just points! The food was delicious; my daughter said it's the best filet she's ever had, and my scallops with gnocchi (which were tiny, the size of small lima beans) were delicious! We had a late ADR so we took our wine out on the veranda to watch the fireworks, and dinner was served as soon as we returned to the table. Food was amazing, wine service was perfect, and the almond cheesecake was delicious (very different from most cheesecake I've had, but excellent). As much as we love California Grill, I am SO GLAD we went to Narcoosee's this time around; it's definitely on our "repeat" list!

Yachtsman gets my vote. I really like both but I think YS stood out for me because the food was a bit better. I also love the yacht club too.
