Yacht Club or Beach Club?:confused3 Which would you rather stay at and why?

Who will you be there with? If kids, I'd say the Beach Club as it is more laid-back. The Yacht Club is more formal. Still, they share amenities (including the awesome pool!), so if you find a deal on one over the other, it wouldn't make a difference really. My personal preferance is the Beach Club!

The BC because I had such an awesome experience there this Oct. Incredible service - and I like being so close to Epcot... But if I had a better deal at YC, I would probably take it.

Having stayed at both, I prefer YC - I thought BC seemed a bit...shabby?...in comparison. BC is nice enough, though. I mean, I'm staying there next month. :) YC wasn't available with the code and I knew my son would want to be there for the pool if it is even remotely warm enough to swim. (And I couldn't get any monorail resort either.) So BC it is. :)

We have stayed at both and prefer BC. We have young children and feel more "at home" at BC, probably because of the character breakfast in the lobby which attracts many families/kids.

For my wife & me, it's Beach Club all the way. Why? Very simple... two reasons: (1) They're slightly closer to Epcot's International Gateway. & even more important (2) they have Art, the Greeter, aka the Grand Admiral of the Beach Club. It doesn't feel like a "real" Disney trip for us without seeing Art!

Enjoy the Magic!

Just came home from BC and loved it, loved it! Cannot wait to go back! I agree the YC seemed a little more formal. My kids 12, 9 and 6 loved the pool and there was great service, walk to the Boardwalk, Epcot! I'm so sad to be home :rotfl2:

And I was greeted by Art and I felt like I knew him from reading about him on the boards!

I found the Beach Club's lobby too crazy for me, I liked the quiet of the Yacht Club. Plus, I love the full balconies at the YC.

We prefer the Yacht Club. Like another poster I find the BC shabby and also very frantic and hyper. I get a headache just going in there. YC is much more restful with way fewer kids. There are quite a few conventioneers at YC but that's fine with me. I like a quiet more adult atmosphere.

Both are beautiful resorts, but I'd say BC because you can be that much closer to Epcot.

The Beach Club! It's lighter and friendlier. The decor is brighter and more inviting. It's closer to Epcot and the ESPN club. It has the Cape May character breakfast (which is awesome!) and the most important part of all.... it has Art!!!! He is the most wonderful man!!! If you go any where near there, please stop by and say hi!!! My family loved him!!! We're not staying there in December, but I think we will be stopping by just to say hi to him.

Ditto to this. Even my DD17 and DD13 prefer YC over BC. And while SAB was fun, the quiet pool at the YC was the biggest hit with my family.:flower3:

We've been to both. The quote above is to the point. BC is 4 mins closer to Epcot, YC has full balconies.

BC is crazy with kids, YC is just a tad more calm. (if you have a pack of wild happy kids go to BC...LOL help keep YC quite) sorry, just trying to by funny ;)

I don't understand people that say YC seemed a little stuffy or dark or formal?
Here's my photos from last month of the lobby (7:00am just as the sun was coming up)
Very bright and beautiful resort. (camera makes it look a littler darker than it was) ... but from the way it had be described to me, I was expecting to see dark wood, insted of light wood...so I took some pics to show the actually look of YC :)

I agree Markstudy! Thanks for those pictures!
I find the YC to be very warm and inviting. I've met some of the NICEST CMs there, as well!

It's all a matter of style. We prefer the more laid back feel at the BC and the Marketplace has our favorite quick treats. But the YC is a beautiful resort. It's not better or worse, except as it appeals to you and enhances your vacation according to your style.

They are the same resort, just split in two halfs.

Your stay will be they exact same experience regardless of which you chhose. It boils down to this...

Do you want pictures of boats on your bedspread and wal paper in the room, or do you want pictures of beaches and oceans.

beyond that, and percived differences are trival and dont count for much.

I have stayed on both sides...yacht and beach.

I disagree...the atmosphere of each is very different. I've stayed at both and my experiences at each were very distinct.

I think I have had this debate with you before, but they are not the same resort. They share a wall and they share certain amenities, but they are not the same resort. They are managed differently, the theming is different and the atmosphere at the two (as many other posters have said) is very different. In addition, more YC rooms have full balconies, which is a big difference, while certain amenities are more accessible at one resort than the other, which is a small difference.

To say that you will have the "exact same experience" at both places is simply not accurate (heck, I have stayed at the YC many times and not one of those trips has been the "exact same experience" as any other one of those trips, so how one could have the exact same experience staying at two different resorts is beyond me).
