WWYD? offered free upgrade

Ok I lied, I have one more question: Since these are DVC resorts but we are not DVC members, if we got the upgrade would we have daily housekeeping? I know DVC members only get housekeeping every 4 days, but I don't know how it works in this kind of situation. Anyone have any idea? Not that it's a dealbreaker or anything... heck at this point I don't think I can think of anything that would be a dealbreaker!!

I wondered the same thing. Not that I would switch back, but I sure love housekeeping when on vacation!

I would think that the upgrade were for cash paying customers , and as cash guest you would get daily housekeeping.

You do not get daily housekeeping staying on points but you wont be .

I would take the upgrade in a heart beat. Both resorts are great but I think I would go for OKW. Lol deciding .

There is another thread where this happened to several people staying at Pop.

When they overbook any of the resort categories, they upgrade people. This does two things for Disney:

1. Allows them to open up MORE value rooms for additional packages to be booked.

2. Allows them to fill empty space at the DVC resorts, with the hope that...

...3. SOME people will turn their "value" vacation into a DVC purchase, or at the very least, will come back NEXT time and stay at a higher room category, thus making more money for Disney.

I read on the other thread that people ar getting 1 BR units at SSR- this is a GREAT DEAL!! I'll just bet if you called and told them that you were going to be there with your in laws, that they'd offer the same deal to your in laws.

DVC doesn't generally even ask you to attend their sales pitch.

their attitude is - if the villa doesn't sell you - then nothing they say or do could.

I'm still so excited about the upgrade we got today!!! We booked our original package on the 1st day it was available to Disney Visa Card members. We also booked the package arriving August 26 (the first day free dining was available). We also have been to WDW several times in the past few years so I'm not sure what, if any, of these things qualified us for the upgrade email.

For kicks I went on to disneys website tonight and put in our dates at SSR with dining and park tickets that we currently have. The package amount came out to $5,891!!! That's FIFTY EIGHT HUNDRED AND NINETY ONE AMERICAN DOLLARS!!!! Our package total is $1,621. We're saving over $4,200 with this upgrade.........Why would anyone in their right mind not take advantage of this offer???????

We just got back from a week at BCV (5/24-5/31) and are not DVC members or on DVC points. We had daily housekeeping, so I'm pretty sure that is what would happen for those of you with this upgrade. We even got towel animals for the first time since 2001! Congratulations to all of you with these upgrades!

Yea I got a 1br @ OKW

I am so excitied. CM was really nice. She was like wow good upgrade and free dining to boot. She had to get GS on phone to get it. She says I was the first person with the code to call her. At first she was like it is for room only but then she kept checking and found it. They had to cancel old reservation and re do it with the new OKW reservation. Hope it dosen't mess up the $ on the old reservation.

she got back on...they found a 1 br villa at saratoga springs...now i am back on hold...i don't think the pin code is working yet...YAY, A 1 BR VILLA!!!! This means I'll have a w/d and a full refrigerator and everything, right?! I am so excited!! if anybody can answer me quickly, which view would you ask for at saratoga?

well... we were "sneaking away" with only our daughter to take advantage of the free dining in August. Leaving the 2 older kids to do their own thing (One going to Scotland, the other camping) I was feeling kinda bad because all 5 of us wouldn't be together on this trip, but was "dealing" ok. We WERE going to stay at ASMo, because, this was a budget trip and our daughter (4 years) would love to see all the big things and we can't usually stay at a value because there is 5 of us. WELLLLLLL.... today I recieved an email to call Disney with a special code... we were upgraded to Saratoga Springs!! Ummmmm.... feeling kinda guilty, excited, suspicious??, thrilled, well you get the pic! This is really cool, and it is going to make for a wonderful trip, however I wonder how high pressure it'll be to "purchase" DVC... it's something we want to do eventually, but not now. Does anyone know about this wonderful upgrade thing they got working? can you tell me if i need to bring ear plugs so i don't spend money i am not ready to spend yet?? is this real??? go ahead... pinch me!!

There won't be any push from DVC. They know that their timeshare sells itself. No need to tell you about it. You'll find out! It is indeed hard to go back to value once you've been in delux. What a difference between them. I just finished reading the entire thread regarding WWYD and am amazed how many follks got this offer.

I just priced the room only at OKW and I got $1255.52 for 4 nights - $313 a night? They are mass (it appears) offering an upgrade to that from the $92 a night room? They must have SERIOUSLY overbooked.

I am thinking I should jump on it.

We have always had great bus service at OKW. There is a very small counter service station.

Only been to SSR once & just for the day. They do have nice counter service options.

You can take the boat to DTD from OKW & I believe SSR also. Actually, you could most likely walk to DTD from SSR.

There'd be no question in my mind about changing.
