has anyone ever booked a cruise through www.vacationstogo.com?
they have some deals for all cruise ships, including disney- but did not know if it is a reputable site or not.

Anyone have any experience with them?

has anyone ever booked a cruise through Vacations to go?

My parents used them for a Norwegian Cruise to Alaska and got good service.

The deals you see on any travel agency website on DCL are somewhat misleading. DCL forbids any discounting on their cruises. So the final cost on any travel site, once you add in required taxes and fees, will be the same as DCL's site. The only difference is travel sites are free to offer whatever OBC they wish to get your business.

Our tablemates used them and paid $200 less than we did going through DCL!

My friend used them last year for our first Disney cruise. I used Disney. She unfortunatley had a few issues with room assignment.

I've used them. No problems booking at all. I ended up needing to cancel my ressie several months later. No problems there either.

The only thing I didn't like was not being able to get immediate response to my call if I wanted to change something. This happens with any TA.
I prefer have control of my own ressie, so therefore I don't use TA any longer.

Just want to remind everyone to please put in the full url of a website so the filters set in place on DIS can determine if the website is one that can be mentioned on DIS.
Thanks for your cooperation and understanding.

We've been very pleased with www.vacationstogo.com and www.Cruise.com over the years. Excellent service, nice onboard gifts and, despite the rumor about DCL forbidding discounting, the final price is typically $200-$300 less than the DCL price for a 7-day cruise.

This was probably a result of the fact that, in the past, DCL automatically added trip insurance and transfers, resulting in a somewhat higher price. Kinda of an apples to oranges thing.

These agencies risk losing the right to book DCL if they are, in fact, discounting the cruises. Travel agents that post on this board have always said that DCL does not allow discounting.

I used www.vacationstogo.com to book my first cruise, and had a very good experience working with them. They assigned me a travel agent I could call directly. If I did not physically get ahold of him, he always returned my call the same day. I also had the option to talk to one of his associates if it was an 'emergency'. They are actually a brick-and-mortar Travel Agency in Texas, with an internet "branch", and very reputable.

As others have said, they can't discount the cruise any lower than DCL discounts them. So if the only reason you're looking to book with them is for a discount, you're not going to get that.

Actually, no. We are Platinum members and have compared "apples to apples" pricing on the same category cabin, same deck and same options (no trip insurance and no transfers). We were very surprised to see the approximately $200 savings through those sites as opposed to DCL's online pricing. Haven't compared in a number of sailings now since we prefer, as others have said, to maintain personally control over the reservation, but the savings were clearly there, discount policy or not. Perhaps things have changed in the last year or so.

Perhaps they are rebating their commission back to you? or they have booked group rates?

Well, it's final online price versus final online price. I suppose that could be it. I also thought that DCL may very well have a policy that TAs cannot sell or discount fares below its own lowest price, but perhaps there are times when the quoted online DCL price is not that lowest price (i.e. the TAs are selling the fare at the lowest mandated DCL price but DCL is not).

As I said, we haven't gone that route in some time so I do not know what the current pricing is, but our experience with both of those websites in the past has been positive.

I just checked vacationstogo.com pricing on a DCL cruise I booked quite some time ago. Their price is about $1400 more than what I paid through DCL, but that is probably because the price has gone up since I booked it. I was just price checking to make sure the price had not gone DOWN, so obviously I will keep my booking the way it is.

But the guy I spoke with did say they would offer a $200 on board credit - not sure if that is what has made the difference with pricing that others have mentioned . . . .

www.vacationstogo.com highlighted to us some really good offers on our Disney Baltic cruise. However after a small amount of research we got the same price plus $300 OBC with Dreamsunlimited. It always pays to shop around!

I used them for my upcoming cruise in December. Of oiurse, I had to as my brother works for them and wouldn't leave me alone about it! He was able to get me a good deal, and was able to get me reservations at Universal for the 2 days before, impressive considering the Universal told me rooms were sold out for my dates!

We used them for Disney, and they were very good. The agent we had was pleasant, and even called us before we left to wish us a good trip. I would use them again.
