WW Weekly Weigh-in

Status
Not open for further replies.
I just got home from my weigh in and I lost .6lbs. I know a loss is a loss, but honestly, I'm kind of bummed. That brings my total to 14.4lbs.

Kristi – Bless your heart! Here ya go…. (((passing the Chicken Soup & Kleenex))) I hope you get well VERY soon and that the scale is much nicer to you next week. :goodvibes BTW, you’ve got a GREAT attitude for a  person. I love your humor! :sunny:

HeatherPage – WTG with that 2.6-pound loss! :cheer2: I see you have the same ONEderland goal as I do (by Christmas). I hope we BOTH make it! It’s going to be a BIG challenge for me, and I have a looooong way to go to get there. Good luck to you! :shamrock:

kayeandjim00 – How was the first meeting? Was it as bad as you thought it would be?

Rachie0507 – I totally understand where you are coming from. We all know the .8, .6, .4, or .2 losses are inevitable, but no matter how much “mental rehearsing” we do, we're never truly prepared to see them on weigh in day. :o If you know you were on program, then the weight WILL come off eventually. Try not to get down about not losing as much as you would have liked (especially if you are an emotional eater). Just continue moving forward and REMEMBER: You’ve worked hard and lost 14.4 lbs so far….that’s absolutely terrific!! :goodvibes

Weigh in for me is on Saturday a.m. :scared: :faint: :scratchin :confused3  :p

Keep up the GREAT work EVERYONE! :cheer2:

I weighed in today and lost .8 not the greatest, but I am okay with it. It is not a gain.

Sorry I haven't posted in a while......but I am down too! I had a baby in Sept and weighed 230 then.......Then started WW in January weighing 217.5......and I was 189.5 this morning. It's coming slowly but surely!

Down 1.8 today :cool1:

I actually got up the nerve to try my size 12 shorts yesterday. A couple of them fit OK, a couple of others zipped up, but I would not be comfortable in them. Two more weeks until WDW - hopefully I will make it.

Wish me luck for today and tomorrow - I am the booth leader for our school carnival tomorrow. Which booth, you ask? The CAKE WALK!!! :rotfl2: I am already getting cakes, cookies, pies, etc. and will be around it all day tomorrow. I hope I can control myself and I hope even more than my DD does NOT win one and bring it home!

WTG everyone on your losses this week - even the littlest ones.

Mary

OH MY GOSH! Everyone rally around Mary!!!! :grouphug: She really needs to know that we're all rooting for her in this "hour of need."

You can do this, Mary! I know you can! :cheer2: Just imagine that every cake, pie, cookie was made by folks who don't wash their hands. :rotfl: It's gross, and most likely not true, but it might work! ;)

Use that mental rehearsing we're always learning about at WW! See yourself at that cakewalk, enjoying the festivities whilte remaining totally in control of your eating. Imagine yourself passing all of those desserts on to the winners of the walks without even wanting a single bite! Think of the lb(s) they will gain by eating those cakes, and the pounds you will lose by being up on your feet cheering them on to victory! :sunny:

Dzny Dreams thanks for the encouragement :) I know we can both do it. I have about 67 pounds until I see "onederland" I'd love to be there by my Oct. 14 trip to the World, but that might be pushing it so I'll gladly take Christmas/New Years :)

Welcome Back! You're doing FABulous!!! :cheer2: Congrats on the new baby, too! Boy or girl? Name? Just nosy. ;)

Diane! You are such a wonderful source of support around here! :goodvibes You always have the greatest things to say, and you post them! Continued Thanks! :grouphug:

Best WISHes Mary! :cheer2: You CAN avoid those cakes, or at worst, take a taste, only a taste, because I believe the FIRST taste is the same as the Last, soooo, think about it, and stop after the first. (WW tip I learned here) ;)

Best WW WISHes to all this weekend! :grouphug:

10 Small Things to Do Today to Look Great in a Bathing Suit
By Mike Bruno | 4/13/2005

Memorial Day's just around the corner, and you know what that means: bathing-suit season is hot on its heels. Does the thought of wearing the smallest, tightest article of clothing you own in public make you cringe? It's going to take a little work if you want to look and feel your best when that first day on the beach rolls around.

The good news is that by making some small, manageable changes to your routine today, you can avoid mirror-shock tomorrow. Here are 10 ways to slim down in time for a great bathing-suit bod.

Eat in the A.M.: Every morning, as soon as you get out of bed, have something to eat or drink. Lisa Dorfman, Sports Nutritionist in the University of Miami Athletic Department, says that even a piece of fruit or coffee with an ounce of milk will help kick-start your metabolism. "Research shows that any food [you eat] in the a.m. breaks the physiological fast, the state your body has been in while you sleep — hence the word 'breakfast,'" says Lisa.

Reduce Stress: Keep stress in check by adding exercise, prayer or meditation to your daily routine. Stress can actually set off a chain of hormonal events that can result in excess fat deposits.

Sofa Aerobics: While you're watching television, stand up and sit down repeatedly during each commercial break until you're tired or the break is over. This is basically a modified squat thrust. "Start with a minimum of two sets of 8 to 12 reps," said Karen Merrill, ACE 2004 personal trainer of the year. "Make sure you focus on good form to keep your core engaged and work the abs along with the legs."

Spice it Up: Carry a bottle of red pepper flakes in your work bag or keep a jar of hot chili peppers in the refrigerator at work, advises Dorfman. There's evidence that adding them to your lunches may help boost your metabolism.

Extreme Eating: Make a conscious effort to eat very cold snacks, like a popsicle, or very hot ones, like a cup of hot consommé. The extreme temperatures will make you eat slower, which gives your body time to signal your brain once you've had enough to eat.

Gab on the Go: Make your weekly phone calls to loved ones on your cell phone while taking a brisk walk. You'll burn a few calories and make your mother happy.

Stair Master: At the top of every hour at work, head into the stairwell and walk up and down a few flights to get your heart pumping. Once you start to feel fatigued, take a brief rest: Brace yourself on the hand rail and work your calves by doing toe raises on the top step.

Eliminate One Fat: Each day, make one non-fat substitution. Swap out half and half with fat-free creamer in your coffee, for example. You can save hundreds of fat calories each day that would otherwise go straight to your hips and thighs.

Tell the World: Put together a support team. Whether they're family or friends, tell them about your goals so they can help you stay on course and encourage your progress. "Get as many people on your side as you can — at work, at home — who know what you want to do and are there to support you," says Merrill. "With a solid support team, there's no reason you can't accomplish what you set out to do."

Bribe Yourself: Buy a bathing suit you absolutely adore, even if it's a bit out of your price range, and use it as a reward for when you're done shaping up. Not only will the promise of a splurge help motivate you, it's also guaranteed to make you happier about how you look when you finally slip it on.

Hope it helps!! :goodvibes

I'm back - we had a great wdw trip! I am up 1.5 since the day we left - we've been home a week. I am still right around my wdw goal, but shy of my personal goal by about ten pounds. So, I am back to get remotivated by you wonderful folks! Thanks! And I will start journaling better this week, too! That makes all the difference, I think.

Shawn,
Lucky You! I can't wait for our trip to WDW! We have 9 more weeks to wait!

I am sure I will be up after our trip too. I hope I don't totally blow it, but I will be enjoying some of the wonderful food at WDW. Buffets will be the hardest and we have 2 of those booked (Chef Mickeys and Boma).

Soooooooo......where did you eat, what was good. Let us live through your experiences :teeth: .

Don't worry, it may take a few days to get back on track, but I bet in a week you will be back on program and heading for your ultimate goal!

Welcome Back!
DJ

I'm down .8 since last week bringing my total loss to 10.2 since 3/9. Not too bad considering we went away last weekend and ate out a lot!

I'm only down .4 this week. This is slow going for me. :confused3 I'm hoping I have one of those 2-3 pound weeks soon.

Hi Weight Watchers! I've been meaning to check in on this thread and now seems like a good time, since I'm down 2 lbs this week. :goodvibes

Is anyone here doing WW on their own or online? I have been attending meetings and I like the accountability & information I get from that, but life is so busy right now that I've had a hard time getting there. So for now, I'm doing this on my own and hoping to use all of you for my accountability. :teeth: I'm also planning to check out the online version but haven't done that yet. Any words of advice from do-it-yourselfers or onliners?

I'm planning to be out of town for a couple of days, but I'll check back in at the first of the week.

KimRaye--I love those tips! Some great ideas there! :flower:

Hi Everyone :wave2: I had my first meeting Thursday and was really happy with how things went. I found the meeting motivating and really liked the atmosphere. The leader was GREAT! She was so perky and enthusiastic! :Pinkbounc I didn't like my "starting point" number! but it's downward from here on out! I never want to see that number again! :teeth:

Congratulations on those losses, Kelly, AC7179, Mary, Cindy, nuke, & mowsie dreamer!

Shawn – Welcome back to the real world. ;) And a BIG “ditto’ to DJ’s comment -- do tell us ALL about your trip so that we may live vicariously through your experiences (especially the food)! :teeth: I am impressed by you for getting right back OP! That is awesome! :cheer2: Good luck this week! :shamrock:

kayeandjim00 – Those starting numbers can be quite a shocker, can’t they!? :scared1: But don’t worry, they’ll be down in no time. I’m so happy to hear that you’ve found a great leader….you’ll be surprised at what a difference she will make after a really “blah” week. Good luck! :shamrock: You’re starting out with a GREAT attitude, and that will make a WORLD of difference.

Kim – Thanks for sharing that great article! :sunny: I’m nowhere near swimsuit season (my swimsuit season won’t start until 2006---MAYBE—LOL), but those tips are AWESOME! I love the one about sitting and standing as many times as you can during the commercial breaks. And I think I WILL go out and buy a new outfit that I can wear, say, 20-25 lbs. from now. That oughta work just as well as a new swimsuit for me! :)

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Here’s my personal report:

I’m down 3.6 lbs this week! YEE-HAH!!! :Pinkbounc That’s a total of 13.2 so far, and I couldn’t be more thrilled. AND LOOK! I’m wearing a new 10-lb clippie. :teeth:

Good luck this weekend/week everyone! And remember . . . “Nothing tastes as good as being thin feels.”

kayeandjim00

I was happy to see your post and your enthusiasm for the program. I too am from Oak Creek and have been interested in starting. Unfortunately, the Thursday meetings are in the middle of my job as "Mom Taxi Driver". Keep us up to date as I would love to hear more about your experience. Good Luck! :earsboy:

Hi! Have to do this quick as DH thinks I'm downstairs cleaning! We ate better than we ever have at WDW and think we may try the dining plan when the kids get bigger. We did Le Cellier in Canada - the soup was wonderful - Canadian Cheese - we did Alfredo's - we voted it the best fetticine we've ever had - we did a few tollhouse cookie sandwiches, of course and a mickey sandwich - I had two caramel apples with nuts - yum! Let's see - we did lots of quick counter service - way too many french fries! We ate the kids meal beef fried rice and egg roll in China - yum! Had a chocolate crossaint in Norway - tried their "school bread" - all wonderful. What else? Oh Wolfgang Puck's to go margherita pizza - yum! Ghiradhelli chocolate dipped waffle cone with coffee ice cream - hmmm . . I'll write more if I think of it, but it was all delish! I am paying for it, though! I am inspired by the getting ready for swim suit season article, too! I think Spring is finally here to stay in OH, so summer will be here before I know it!

kayeandjim00,

Congratulations on the first step! The meetings really help. I don't know what I would do without them. They provide a structure and order for my week.

I have been going to WW for 9 weeks, and have lost 17.6 pounds so far. My meeting day is Sunday mornings at 9 AM. I'll know tomorrow morning how I did this week.
