WW Weekly Weigh In--- Part 2

I weighed in today and lost 2.2 lbs! It isn't as great as it sounds since last week I had a gain of 1.8 lbs... :rolleyes1 Still, the general direction is still ok!

As some of you know I am doing WW in Germany and we used to have a different system here. As of today it has changed into something called "ProPoints" and I now have daily and weekly points as well! I am a bit frightened by that! Also I noticed that some of my favourite foods are now much more "expensive". I guess it is actually quite good to start looking at what I am eating again and figure out new ways. It is really motivating and I am sure that it will help me stay on track during the Christmas season because I want to figure out the new system.

I am just wondering: are you eating your weekly extra? I am not sure wether I might not be too afraid of eating too much. I have 29 daily points and 42 weekly. But I am not sure wether our points are calculated the same way as yours...

It looks like this thread has lost the momentum it once had. How's everyone doing out there? A New Year is right around the corner so I suspect after the holidays we will see a more active thread. I hope everyone is doing well and best wishes to all for a happy holiday season.

Well, our Disney trip went well, I lost half a pound, have been just hanging around 147 since then, but I can tell I've lost inches which is good. Still have arund 35 pounds to go to hit my personal goal though, but it's hard during the holidays.

Hi, I am a bit sad that everyone has dissappeared here! I hope people will come back to this thread, it has helped me quite a lot in the recent months! So thanks for starting it! :goodvibes

I am struggling a bit at the moment, those program changes we had here in Germany are not really working for me it seems. I am within my points, but I am not losing anything. :sad2: But I am now at a weight that I once maintained for several years and I read recently that there is a memory function in your body that always makes it difficult to go lower than a weight that was maintained for some time. So I am still hoping that things will improve at some point! There really isn't anything else to do than just continuing on! :goodvibes

losing half a pound during a Disney trip is great! Well done! :thumbsup2 I know what you mean about being stuck at a weight... I hope things will get easier again for you! :goodvibes

hi Tiggerlover  glad to see you again! I'm struggling a bit. Lost .2 last week and hoping to lose something again this week. I stepped up my workout a bit the past two weeks; instead of 30 minutes of steady resistance on the elliptical, I started doing one of the programmed workouts that adjusts the resistance levels as you go, so it's much harder than what I was doing before. I also added in the Jillian Michael's 30 day shred dvd and hoping to see some results. Doing both workouts 5 days a week.

Staying within points is still a problem for me; tracking isn't going so well, but I'll keep plugging away until it clicks for me!

Hope you are enjoying the holidays!

Fantastic job losing over your Disney vacation! I'v never been able to lose during a trip so I am totally impressed!

Hi there. Not sure what changes were made to your program over in Germany. Can you explain? Maybe we can give you some ideas that may help get you off your plateau. I am also at a weight that I was once at for a while; not bad, but just a little higher than where I want to be now. I never heard that theory before, but it makes sense!

Hi cepmom. Sorry to hear that you are struggling, this is a hard time of year to stay on program. Sounds like you have a great exercise plan going on, changing things up really tends to help out. Tracking can be a bear, that was always a challenge for me. Keep on keeping on and I am sure you will get it under control. Even after all these years it is still a challenge every week, but you just do the best you can and keep moving forward.

I am impressed with your workout schedule, but it sounds really great. I think one of my problems is that I am really missing running and haven't been able to find something else to do on a regular basis. I am still walking about an hour every day (to and from work), but I am really missing doing something that is more of a challenge. I guess I need to look into some gym classes, I really used to like doing step aerobics.

The change they made here is that we finally got the system with the weekly extra. We used to be able to save points from one day to the other, but now we can't, but we can use the weekly extra. Also they changed the calculation of the points value. Before everything with fat had really high points. Now those foods have lower point values, but carbs are "more expensive". I used to eat a lot of pasta, so this really isn't that much of an option anymore. Actually I like this new programm a lot, I think it will get me to eat a more varied diet, but so far it isn't really working that much. But then I know that I had other times before where nothing happened. Also, I acchieved the most important thing: I have a BMI of 24.5, so I have a healthy weight. I would just love to lose a bit more! :goodvibes

I lost .8 this week! so happy to have lost anything at all! I wasn't really good about staying within points again this week, but I did keep up with working out each day so I'm sure that's what helped me to lose. Imagine what I might I have lost if I didn't overindulge huh? :rolleyes1

Hoping to stay on track this week as much as possible because I know next week will be tough with Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

Flossbolna....it sounds like the new program is going to be an adjustment but give it time and I'm sure you will figure out what works for you. Do you have the "filling foods" on this program? I found that when we switched from points to Momentum program last year, the focus was more on the filling foods. I find that if I focus on eating mostly filling foods then I see better results on the scale (and better results on how I feel physically too)

Have a good week!

I lost 0.5 lbs this week - that's my gain from last week... :sad2: I am back to where I was two weeks ago.

cepmom, thanks for the comment. I think you are right, weight loss isn't a mathematic formula. I will just stick to the programm and I am certain that it will work for me at some point. I also know that I had those times before when nothing would happen and then the next pounds dissappeared quite fast. Also I think that maybe my body now knows that those last pounds aren't a necessity, but just me being vain, so it wants to hold on to those extra pounds for times of need! I am actually still doing great with the tracking and making good choices for me! I am so proud that I have two bags of chips in my kitchen since my birthday party six weeks ago and I have not opened them (even though I was seriously tempted a few times! :thumbsup2).

I think we do have the filling foods, is it lean meat, beans and lentils, low fat dairy products, rice, potatoes and pasta, the last preferrably whole grain? I am really trying to eat more meat (not such a great fan of dairy), beans and lentils. They are much "cheaper" foodwise now and I tended to avoid those a lot in the past. I realize that I feel better and actually eat smaller quantities if I eat these foods.

Which by the way reminds me how surprised I am how much I was able to reduce portion size by eating much more aware of what I am eating and when I am no longer hungry. There I realized that WW really is a change in lifestyle! :thumbsup2 So overall, there is so much postive of my journey so far, that it is actually quite easy to keep motivated through this hard time! :goodvibes Thanks for listening!

So how did everyone survive the holidays? For me personally I gained 5 pounds, but I am back to basics and have been back to making better choices the last two days and anticipate taking the 5 pounds off before the end of the month when I weigh in.

Happy New Year!

I gained 0.4 lbs, so I am quite pleased. It took me some time to get back into the program now after the holidays, but the last three days have been good. So I really hope that I am back on track! :goodvibes

I really would love to lose another 4 lbs before my WDW vacation since this will get me under 70 kg which is quite a milestone for me. But it is only three weeks from today (:woohoo:) and I am not sure I will manage it! But at least I can try. :goodvibes

Happy New Year! I am also up about 5 lbs :headache:Having some trouble getting back on track with eating. Exercising has been put on hold...that's where my trouble began. I hurt my knee about 3 weeks ago after I started ramping up my elliptical routine and added in a Jillian Michaels dvd. Going to PT now to try and get it under control. Yesterday the PT told me to lay off the elliptical for a bit.:sad2: I've already stopped the dvd, now I don't know what to do to get in some activity.

I need to do something. Too cold/icy out to walk outside. I might have to dust off the old treadmill in the cellar and start some easy walking on it. DH has weights in the basement as well; if I can get him to show me how to use it I think I can get in some upper body strength training in as well. I'm just so discouraged about the exercising now :guilty: I'm already over my weight goal by a bit and now I can't even exercise like I need to in order to get the weight back in control. Ugh

cepmom, I have trouble with my knees too, I can only do the eliptical once a week, same with the treadmill. After my PT they recommended that I swim or use the recumbant bike, so that is what I do now and my knees are grateful! Do you have a gym nearby that you can use?

I have been thinking about the gym; I have never joined a gym because I really have little time to get there to workout. DH has such an erratic work schedule, I can never count on him being home so I could go. Some days he's gone by 6:00, some days he's working until 10 at night. I just never know what it will be from day to day. Working out at home seems to fit best, so I don't have to worry about him being here for the kids. I can workout while they are getting ready for school etc.

I babysit 3 days a week now and working at WW one other day so going to the gym during the day is out those days. Although, Planet Fitness is close by and they are pretty cheap, I suppose even if I get there only 1 or 2 days a week I won't feel like I'm wasting money by not going 5 days a week.

I've been doing okay this past week; tracking every blessed thing I put in my mouth and that has helped. I made an agreement with one of my WW buddies; we would both track everything and bring our trackers in to the next meeting to prove it to each other :laughing:I've been thinking about her all week, everytime I want to eat something!

Hi kids. Mind if I join in?

I did WW last year and lost about 25 pounds. I felt so good but then I fell off the wagon and gained most of it back. :headache: Too many vacations and emotional eating I guess.

Anyway, joined back at WW last week and so far this week I've done really well and I've been exercising at least 30 minutes a day. Today I did 55 minutes. I have a Wii fit plus and I love it! I'm determined to get this weight off and keep it off this time!

Tomorrow is my first weigh in since getting back on track. I just have to keep telling myself I didn't put it on overnight it's not going to come off overnight.

just back from WI...down 4 lbs this week!:woohoo: Overall, I'm still up 1.4 from my pre-Christmas WI but that's okay. I am excited to see this loss, but cautious. I have lost track of how many times I have been caught in this patteren :headache:, 2 good weeks, 2 bad weeks, over and over:sad2:

I tracked every single thing that went in my mouth last week and it paid off! I had a couple days where I went over points but I still kept tracking them which helped keep me in line on the other days, to see how many "extra" points I was using.

Haven't been exercising a lot...just doing my knee/leg stretching and strengthening that the PT gave me each day, then yesterday I started doing some upper body strengthening with DH's weights. Hoping to keep that up every other day at least.

hi there! :wave:Welcome!

those vacations and emotions will get the best of us won't they :sad2: But, the good news is you're back on track:thumbsup2 Good job on the exercising...I have the Wii Fit but haven't tried Wii Fit plus yet. I also got the Biggest Loser for Wii for Xmas, but haven't really tried it yet due to my knee being an issue right now. Small goals will help you keep going steady and strong! How was your WI today?

Great job on the weight loss! Baby steps. It can be frustrating though when we slide back into our old habits. It's so darn easy.
I love the Wii fit plus. I like that you can link a routine together so you don't have to keep going back to the main menu. I just increased to 60 minutes today and it felt so good. I'm really looking forward to tomorrow. Gosh, what's wrong with me. LOL
It's paying off though. I lost 3.4 pounds this week (just got home from weigh-in) and even though I've been exercising for a week the girls at works said they can already see a difference in my legs. I should take measurements too. Does anyone here measure?
For the time being I'm on my weight loss high. I sure hope it lasts!

Hi kids. Mind if I join in?

Hi! Welcome to this thread! It is a bit quiet here recently...

It's great that you managed to start all over again. That's the most important first step: actually do something about your weight! :thumbsup2

just back from WI...down 4 lbs this week!:woohoo: Overall, I'm still up 1.4 from my pre-Christmas WI but that's okay. I am excited to see this loss, but cautious. I have lost track of how many times I have been caught in this patteren :headache:, 2 good weeks, 2 bad weeks, over and over:sad2:

Congratulations! You are absolutely right, tracking is sooo important. I find as long as I do that, I never get too much off course and it is so much easier to get back into better eating habits as well!

Not being able to exercise is really annoying. I read what you wrote about the gym and I think if you think you can do it at least twice a week, I would say go for it. I know it is expensive, but I think it is money very well spend. Also, I often use the gym just for short exercise as well. 30 min running on the thread mill if it is nasty outside is better than no exercise (I know running is not what you can do at the moment, but there must be other options...)!

It's paying off though. I lost 3.4 pounds this week (just got home from weigh-in) and even though I've been exercising for a week the girls at works said they can already see a difference in my legs. I should take measurements too. Does anyone here measure?

Wonderful! A weight loss is always so motivating, isn't it?

I measure and I think it is a grat way to chart your success. I don't do it weekly, more like every second month or so.

I am not so successful at the moment. I weighed in yesterday and am up 2 pounds. :scared1: Not what I expected or wanted. I hve no real idea why besides that I got much less exercise these last weeks. I usually walk to work and back, which is about 30 minutes each way. At the moment we have a lot of snow and ice and I did not walk. I think I really miss all that activity. So on Monday I started walking again (I have good shoes and the snow has cleared away somewhat). And I have been to the gym to do my running there. So I hope that things will improve again. :goodvibes

Hi everyone!!! Mind if I join in with you??? I started WW a week ago this past Thursday. So this past Thursday was my first weigh in and I lost 4.4 lbs. :cool1: I was pretty happy. I have about 125 lbs to lose so I know I have a looooooong way to go, but this is a good start. I hope we can all encourage each other on this weight loss journey:grouphug:
