WW Weekly Weigh In--- Part 2

If you type in the amount you want to eat the online tracker will tell you if it is 0 point, I find that I can eat only 1 cup of carrots for 0 points, anything after that it is 1point. Just keep adding cups to the tracker until you find out what the max amount is before you have to count a point. I love the online ww, much easier for me to track my points...I just started 1 1/2 weeks ago. Good Luck:thumbsup2!

Hi LPN, I tried typing in 2 cups of spinach on the online tracker. It said it couldn't find it. I typed in spincach and it gave me 1 cup only. I must be searching in the wrong place. Where should I type in 2 cups???

Ok, so if I eat 2 cups of carrots then it's 1 point. Thanks. It probably applies to all starchy veggies. Good to know.

I love the online tracker too. I think it would be way to hard to do it without that tool.

Well today is my third day. I did good my first two days.....I had leftover daily points....first 11 then 3. Keeping with my program of choice, I have 35 weekly points to use today or forfeit. Maybe I can make a run to carvel ice cream??? This program I can do forever. You just have to plan and contol. Eat healthy 90% of the time and plan your "cheats" while keeping them manageable. I think it's going to work for me. So far, so good.

Hi everyone! I have been lurking for a few weeks and thought I'd say hi! As you can see in my profile, I am from Germany, so I am following WW here in Germany and it seems to be a bit different - we still have points, but no weekly points, for example. I hope I can still join you - combining weight loss and the DIS is such a great idea! :goodvibes

I am doing WW online. I was pretty successful two years ago, somehow stopped it and tried restarting a few times, but now finally managed to get going again six weeks ago and am pretty happy with my success so far. I have no idea, how the next weigh in will be, I just got through a challenging weekend at my parents house. I did not do too well, but at least I was still tracking everything I had and tried to do lots of exercise. So I am still a bit hopefull! :goodvibes

Congratulations to everyone weight loss so far! Your success has really been a motivation for me during my time as a lurker on this thread! :thumbsup2

Kathy, welcome to ONEderland! :cool1: I can't wait for the day (still a good way off) when that scale gets below 200 pounds and I join you there. Good job!

Thanks Jackie. I'm really pushing to stay here this time. Keep on trucking, you'll get there too.

I hear my friend Ian....a Ship of Thieves May 08 cruise friend....he is also a WW leader.....I can hear Ian saying.....it's all about making healthy food choices for the rest of your life. Focus on that and the weight loss will follow.

I know, I'm only on my third day of doing it....but I hope to be saying the same thing on my third year.

btw, ibouncetoo is also a member of the Ship of Thieves.....AAARG to you Jacks.pirate:pirate:pirate:pirate:pirate:

Welcome!!! I asked my leader the same thing about veggies...if I have more than one serving does it count as points and her answer was, yes it technically does. But if I want to eat a double serving of broccoli then go right ahead and don't worry about counting it. Her theory is "broccoli didn't get you here"

OMG this is sooooooo funny.....I LOVE that line.....broccoli didn't get you here......it's so true. But the funny thing is that I LIKE broccoli. I just chose to eat the other things. I'm changing that way of thinking now. But I'm going to remember that line and laugh!!! Thanks.

EllaEnchanted: when you enter the food, a later screen allows you to adjust the quantity.

I don't like the fact that my tracker on the main page doesn't match up with the points tracker. My points tracker uses the weekly points first, while the front page uses activity points first.

i love broccoli too! my problem is that i like it really steamed, so it loses all its nutrients.

i also just had to say that i was so proud of myself last night... we got chinese food and normally i like chicken and broccoli with brown sauce, BUT last night i decided to ask for steamed chicken and veggies. i've been sick for the last 2 days and i was afraid how my body would react to the heavy sauce. it wasn't chicken with broccoli, but it still tasted good and i didn't feel bad about eating it. yay for making good choices sometimes.

My thought for the day:

Tracking.....tracking is important even on the worst day....it's important to know that you had a 65 point dinner! :scared1: You did it...know exactly what you did and move on. Sometimes we indulge for one reason (excuse) or another and think...well, how bad could it be? Sometimes the answer is...pretty darn bad. :upsidedow The important thinng is to NOT cut yourself short on points the day or two following. Maybe make 'leaner' choices and up your water to aid in flushing, but cutting back too much after an 'oops' can lead to feelings of hunger and trigger more bad choices.

My highest point day ever, you ask....Thanksgiving one year...103 points :sad2:

.

i forgot to post that i didn't lose or gain any weight this week. i got hurt doing an exercise video so i haven't been able to exercise, which stinks! i've also been so busy with school and i haven't had time to really pay attention to food, but i really haven't been eating much because i've been so nervous.

keep up all the good work ladies! it sounds like a lot of you had a great week! :cheer2:

Get well soon!

I had a good week and lost 3.2 pounds yesterday. I have been hovering around the 200 mark again, and that brings me to 199.8, so this time I will not go back over.
.

Onederful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Kathy, welcome to ONEderland! :cool1: I can't wait for the day (still a good way off) when that scale gets below 200 pounds and I join you there. Good job!

You will get there! My DD has had a lot to lose and I was worried that she would ditch me now that her family is in their own home. My DH said she would not when she was so close. "So close?" I ask. She has a ways to go but has been my inspiration here. He said she is almost there because she got through the hardest part and has lost over 30% of what she had. As far as he was concerned she was almost there! So my friend we are going to use the "Buddy Standard" and say you are almost there!

My leader said the same thing when on of the gals asked how to double "free" veggies. "Green beans did not get us here....eat your green beans!":rotfl2: I think of this everytime I add a pile of veggies to my plate.

Hi all. I am going to re-join WW at the beginning of June and am curious about the new Momentum Program. I understand that it is a combination of the points and the core programs. Is that correct? Is it harder to track or easier? Do the filling foods not count as points or do they just suggest that you eat those first? Do you seem to be losing weight quicker or about the same as on the Flex or Core plan?

Any info appreciated!! My ultimate goal is to lose 80 lbs.

luvsjack- Welcome! Momentum is a combination of the Core food plan and the Flexl plan. You track all of your food just as in the old plans. Momentum encourages you to have more Simply Filling (CORE) foods in order to satisfy you longer.

I am a CORE junkie so I just follow Simply Filling, which is allowed but most leaders do not seem to push. I really cannot help too much on the Momentum Plan because of that but I am happy to try if you have any specific questions. I have heard in the meetings that a lot of folks lose quicker now becasue they are having the Core foods and they satisfy you much longer.

I have two favorites...

1. Protein pancakes: In a blender, mix 1 c. low fat cottage cheese, 1 c. uncooked oatmeal (real kind, not instant), 1. c. all whites egg whites, cinnamon. After mixing, make pancakes with the mix as usual. I make them about 2-2 1/2 inches in size so they are 1 pt. each. I then eat them with either fresh strawberries or blueberries (1 pt each). So, for 2-3 pancakes and the fruit, either a 3 or 4 pt meal. SO filling.
2. Crustless quiche: Bake at 350. In a glass pyrex pie plate, 2 c. egg beaters (or egg whites), then add a tomato sliced, mushrooms, peppers, onions, spinach (pre-sautee the veggies like mushrooms, peppers, onions, spinach). Bake the whole thing for about 55 min until firm. About 1/4 of the pie is 2 points (I use a little oil to sautee the veggies). You could also add a little parmesan cheese right before it's done if you have more points available. YUMMY!!! Sometimes I eat this with a slice or two of turkey bacon. Very filling!!

Hi! Hope everyone's having a good week so far!

I had my weigh in this morning and was up .4 lbs. Last week I was up .6 lbs. I've been having a hard time lately keeping on track towards the end of the week and really don't know why. :confused3 Anyone have that "problem" and have any suggestions for me? I REALLY want to continue on this journey. I have lost 41.6 lbs and I know that I'm better off than when I started WW. According to the height/weight guidelines, I could loose another 28 lbs. I haven't decided if I think I need to loose another 28 lbs. though, I know that those are just guidelines. My next goal is to hit 50 lbs. I really would love to hit that goal before leaving for Disney World, which is the end of June.

If anyone has anything they'd like to share that help keep them on track, I'd really aprreciate it!

Thanks so much for listening! :flower3:

Lucy- first of all, do not give up! You can do this!
Everyone goes through a slump, mine was always when I seemed to be close and then I sort of sabotaged myself. I make sure I have food in the house that will satisfy me when I want something and it is not a rice cake! Make some cooked SF FF pudding and portion it into pretty dishes. I have that when I need a chocolate fix. Top with some Cool Whip Free and it is good. Have some SF FF Jello on hand and do the same thing. It can get your through that "I want a cookie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" time. Hot coffee and a Vita Top does the trick for me as well.

Popcorn is a good treat and it lasts a long time.

If you want something and you do not have the points try one or two bites. Better that than being deprived and then somehow looking and the entire container is gone.

No matter what, you deserve to be healthy so make sure that you take time to prepare for your week and that your family is included in this journey. If they know that you struggle at the end of the week then maybe they can get on board and help to find solutions all of you can ejoy.

If not any of this works do what my leader finally told me. Everytime you fall off and reach for something tell yourself it is going to cost $12.50.

Thanks. I didn't know you could click on the food item to change the amounts. I found that out by accident. It's all good now. :cutie:

I'm VERY proud of you Jackie.....you acknowledged it, you tracked it and you got over it. You did the work. You kept with the program. That's what counts. Good job!

Hi lucybugmom.....even though I've only been doing WW for 5 days now....it is certainly NOT the first time that I've tried to lose weight.

Could you possibly add a fun activity for the end of the week so that you can earn enough points to satisfy your cravings? Try to do something new that you don't do now. Know that you'll be working towards....whatever item you choose, ie, ice cream. Then after you have earned those points you can feel good about eating your "cheat" item. Maybe you can say a mantra like "Earn it before you eat it." Also, drink more water on those days. I like mine to be seltzer with lemon. It's so refreshing. Good Luck. Don't give up!

Hi everyone, I had my weigh in this morning and while I was hoping for a bit more, I still lost a pound, so I am happy!

First of all, I am very impressed with the weight you lost so far! You know, this is about the weight of my suitcase for a trip to WDW. I think this is very impressive and you deserve to be proud of your acchievement!! :cool1: I think it is more than being just better off than when you started, I would really consider it a milestone. :goodvibes But if this is not motivation enough at the moment, I can understand that, too. I wonder if it would help you not to step on a scale for a few weeks. Perhaps your problems with the end of the week is because you are dreading the weigh in because you are afraid of gaining again. So if you try to keep to your points, but just skip the weigh in, it might take the pressure away? Sorry, if this sounds strange...

Hi everyone,
We arrived home from Disney last Tuesday. We had a wonderful time! We loved Beach club, and the weather was spectacular! I did find it difficult to keep track of points, but I figured with the incredible amount of walking, it would hopefully offset any extra calories. Upon returning home, I weighed myself, and it crept up a couple of pounds. I have been home for 1 week and am having a bit of difficulty getting completely back on track. I did go to Weight Watchers on Saturday and chose not to get weighed in. (Maybe I'm a little quirky, but I find it discouraging to actually see the gain in print!) Surprisingly, the check in person kept really pressuring me to weigh in- at one point saying you can step on, but I won't tell you or put it in your book, and after I said no thanks, she said "well you know that you should really let the computer know! Then again, she said that maybe I might really want to know in a few weeks! Does anybody find this kind of pressure surprising? Yesterday, I told the aide in my classroom about it, who also does Weight Watchers, and she was surprised as well. We did have a good laugh about it though. Well off to get back on track! Have a wonderful week!

Lucy- I have been thinking about this all day. How are you spending you additional 35 points? Are you dividing them up evenly throughout the week? If so, jumble them up. Use more on one day, less on another, spike them on yet another and none on one day. Sounds silly but it works. Also, make sure that you are eating enough. Again, sounds silly but I could not lose my last 5 pounds. My leader told me to eat more an I dropped those pounds.
