WW Weekly Weigh In--- Part 2

missed this the first time... thanks! I'm actually going to make some tonight I think.

Went to my first Monday night meeting in a looooong time. Used to go to them with my mom (the first... and second time I tried WW). Seems really weird still to go without her. Anyway, color me surprised and excited...
I'm down 1.8 more :jumping2: not sure how it happened, since I just weighed in Saturday morning, but I'll take the pixiedust: when it happens.

I was also taking a look at the WW website today and they have Week 1 of the Rise and Shine Challenge up. I found two quotes on the weekly worksheet that I wanted to share with everyone... I know some others like me are struggling right now and they really seem to strike a chord w/ me...

1) Realize the Plan doesn't require perfection; it takes persistence. (– Success Story Stacey) [~there's a link to her story on the actual worksheet]

2) "The greatest thing you have is the 24 hours you have in front of you. The past is gone, the future is distant. Today you can succeed. Set a goal you can achieve within the next 24 hours." – Leader J.P. Sarasota, FL

Anyway, liked the quotes and liked that they were from other members. Hope it helps someone!

Hope everyone is having a good day so far!
Rachel
Thanks for the quotes. I haven't been to the ww board lately, but I think I'll go and read the success stories. I always find them so inspiring. I love the first quote. That is me, and I won't give up, though I fall off the wagon way too much lately.

:

I wish I could say that it gets easier, but in a sense it doesn't. Even after 6 years I still have issues with food, but I am more knowledgable and smart in what I do. I do know that I never want to weigh over 200# again and I am committed to being a healthier me. So keep plugging away Kathy, remember what you have learned and just try making the best choices you can. The nice weather sure is a bonus, good for you for enjoying the day.

:
I won't give up, I won't give up. I'm sure maintainance is tough, and that's why ww is so great to have as much support as you lose the weight and continue the support as you are maintaining and living life at your new size.

Here is another good quote I think of often on my weight loss journey:

It's HARD to be overweight. It's HARD to lose weight. It's HARD to maintain weight loss. You just have to pick your hard!
That's so funny, my leader used this quote in our meeting yesterday. It is so true.

I am the same this week, but have been faithfully journalling since thursday, which is the longest I've done in a while. I'm going to continue journalling and keep my eating under control. The weekends have been my downfall, but it's sunday, and I"m still under control, so this week will be better.

:welcome: to all the newcomers. This is such a supportive and inspiring thread.

Congrats to all the losers, :cool1: and hugs to those struggling. Hang in there! You can do it!!:cheer2:

Have a wonderful day.:)

cepmom - thank you so much for sharing! It sounds like are you getting some great experiences and that you are getting a lot out of it. can't wait to hear what else you get to do :goodvibes

Wow....I cant believe its taken me this long to find this thread. I usually hang out on the budget boards, but in search of some motivation for dieting I thought I would check this board out.

welcome! thanks for the picture! It reminds me of the meetings when I first started and they would bring in lbs of butter in ziploc backs to show what a lb of fat looked like. :scared:

congrats to everyone that posted losses :cool1: Hope everyone is having a good weekend!

Rachel

I had my weigh in this morning. I am down 1.6lbs. Now my goal this weekend is to write everything down. I tend to not track the points on the weekend and end up eating way too much.

Congratulations on your loss, that is great. Hope you have attained your goal of journaling this weekend.

:welcome: coastiewifern! If you page through this thread you will find a lot of recipe suggestion, some of them are really yummy!

smacky1, :welcome: to you too. I understand about those last five pounds, that seems to be my forever battle. I am at goal right now, but have been trying to lose the last 5 pounds for a cushion and it seems so hard just to lose 5#. Hang in there, we can do this.

Awesome loss, nurseintraining!! Keep up the great work!

Great loss, rrconnelly, congrats. :cool1:

:thumbsup2 on the journaling, Kath....keep it up!!

Here's to a new week, hope it is a great one for everyone!!

Wonderful! My DD is part of the biggest loser contest at work, one of the challenges for points is to journal at least 4 days of meals, one must be a weekend day. Marisa said that is the hardest because it is easy to get off track on weekends. The journaling has made her more accountable on weekend snacking.

I am so excited I just joined this week. Now I want to be a part of this group! So far I am finding the plan easy to follow but dinners are a challenge for me. Due to the busy mom schedule with work and sports, we probably only cook meals 3-4 times/week. The rest is left overs, out to eat or make some sandwiches quick. I have a picky eater to throw in the mix. What are some good recipes to share? I prefer to try recipes people have tried and recommended. I'll bet you all will have some great ones to share with me.

I tend to make enough for an additional meal so that I always have something to heat up. I also have lunch ready too, which saves me from grabbing anything that is not nailed down when I am over hungry.

Wow....I cant believe its taken me this long to find this thread. I usually hang out on the budget boards, but in search of some motivation for dieting I thought I would check this board out. Ive read through several threads and you guys ROCK! I started WW in 2003 and lost 35 lbs. Ive since had 2 children that are 2 and 4 and am 5 lbs away from my original lifetime goal. Ive been here for about a year. I just cant seem to lose the last 5 lbs. My motivation for journaling starts out great in the morning right till about 2pm when my youngest goes down for a nap. Next thing I know, between then and bedtime, it all goes out the window. I really need to stop the snacking!!!! I havent been to meetings in quiet some time and I realize after reading so many success stories how much I am missing the motivation that comes out of them. Thanks everyone for sharing your successes and struggles. Tomorrow is a new day! Ive brushed my teeth so NO MORE EATING TONIGHT for me!

My leader told me to think $12.70 every time I put something in my mouth. ;) When I look at a snack as money instead of a forbidden treat it makes a difference. Keep little carrots or some fruit out and in plain sight. Also popcorn is a good snack if you are a "I'm bored" snacker.

Happy Saturday!! I weighed in this morning and was down 3 lbs!! yay! I am finally over the 10 pound mark. I am officially down 10.8!!
:cheer2::cheer2:

Hello everyone!
I have just caught up reading from this past week. Congratulations on everyones' successes! Wow, I think that picture of the five pounds of fat gives enough incentive to keep me going for a while!
Well I was down 1.6 this past week which has brought me to 15, so I was pretty happy with that.
Good luck to everyone during this next week, at least it's starting to feel a bit more like spring here in Massachusetts!

May I join you? I have (according to my Doctor) 50 pounds to lose and keep off for the rest of my life. I am doing WW point system with that neat little calculator that tells you how many you have, how many each item is and whether or not you want to "use" the points, and what you have left.

I need all the help and support I can get as I do not go to meetings but just weigh in each week. So far I have lost 8.8 pounds by my 10% goal is 19.5!!!

Is there a thread where we can support each other or is this it. If someone will please let me know, I be grateful for the help.

Now I need to take care of myself after all these years of taking care of everyone else. :)

Welcome!! I just started posting to this thread myself, but it seems like a great place for support:cheer2:

I did track my points this weekend, the first time since I started back to WW in January. My official weigh in is Friday but I do weigh on Monday mornings to face my weekend damage. Since Jan I had gained 3lbs every weekend. This weekend I gained 1lb. Of course my goal is to not gain at all, but at least I am headed in the right direction.

I hope everybody has a great day!

welcome Judy! I think you've come to the right place for support. Everyone is really friendly and great about helping each other out. Congrats on your weight loss so far. :goodvibes And I just have to say I'm extremely impressed w/ your smoke free ticker. Nice work on that too! :goodvibes

great job w/ the tracking! Weekends are tough with tracking for me too. One of the guys in the meeting I went to hates tracking, so instead of writing down everything, he just wrote every bad thing he ate for a week. He said he could easily tell why he didn't lose weight when looked back at everything he had eaten. It's kind of an interesting way of looking at it.

Had my weigh in today... down 1.4 lbs :cool1: I'm so close to hitting that 45 lbs I can almost taste it (pun totally intended..... :upsidedow) My battle tonight is an empty house... my husband is on call tonight so it's just me and the dogs.... and the kitchen. There are no witnesses to be bribed or silenced, since the dogs can't talk...... :rotfl: I intend to make a big pot of decaf coffee and set myself up on the opposite side of the house.

Hope everyone had a great day!

Congrats on the loss! Hope you hit the 45lbs soon:woohoo:

That is an interesting idea about writing all the unhealthy things down. I might try that sometime.

Good job at your losses, that is a wonderful start!

I know that weekend eating is tough but I stay off the scale except for weigh in day. So many things can make your weight fluctuate that I would be discouraged so once and done for me. I go to the same meeting so it is the same day and time. the only thing that changes is me :thumbsup2

Good luck tonight! You are doing so well and so close to the 45 pounds!

I weighed in last night and was down 1.4 pounds. I have 2.8 left to make my goal!

A great week indeed! I understand the cookie victory, I am fine if there are no sweets int eh house that I can have but once I have one bite.........it is all over. The Angel cake I made for St Pat's is the culprit this week and I cannot claim the same progress that you have had this week.

Hope everyone had a good weekend!

I still over-did it on the weekend, but I did track it all again this weekend. I have 3 weekly points left:rotfl: I again gained just over a pound this weekend. Now if I could progress to maintaining on the weekend.

This week is going to be a challenge because I am off from work 3 days. I have a seminar tomorrow and I will be at Disneyland Thursday and Friday. I am hoping to build up some of my resistence muscles and not go crazy just because I am at Disneyland.

Have a great day!!!!:cheer2:
