WW Weekly Weigh In--- Part 2

Hi I joined WW online today and am using the points also. I have been given 32 points a day and I have used 22 today. Do I need to use all 32 a day? I have been dieting since I was 15 and I will be 37 in May. I am the heaviest I have ever been at 265. I am hearing "crackling" in my knees and am going to Disney in 58 days. I have set a goal of 20 pounds by the time I go. I just got back from walking a mile with my two best friends. My last diet was 4 months ago and I was doing well until I went to the doctor and saw that I had gained weight. I quit exercising that day and went to some fast food restaurant to eat. I am determined this time!

akayek31 - Welcome to our thread. You have made a great choice staring WW and being a part of this thread. The WW board also has some great threads to be apart of, I encourge you to find a few to join in on. I have gotten great motoviation from this threads and the WW board. You should eat all your points, eat full fat cheese and milk to get it in, when you start losing and your points go down you can then switch to the low fat, fat free version. Don't be afraid to eat some of your weekly's too. That is what they are there for

Welcome! I am doing WW online also. OK, to be honest, I haven't been following it too well the past couple of weeks but I am fixing that. Now to your question: Yes, on the WW plan, you should use all of your points each day. As you loose weight, your daily point total will also decrease. But they want you to use all of your points each day. However, you don't need to use your weekly points if you don't want to.

I saw the forums on the WW board but did not go to them since I was at work. I remembered WISH and came looking since I am addicted to DIS :rotfl:

Thanks for the info. I was not sure of that. Thanks to both of you for making me feel welcome already :goodvibes

Hope everyone had a good weekend!

I still over-did it on the weekend, but I did track it all again this weekend. I have 3 weekly points left:rotfl: I again gained just over a pound this weekend. Now if I could progress to maintaining on the weekend.

This week is going to be a challenge because I am off from work 3 days. I have a seminar tomorrow and I will be at Disneyland Thursday and Friday. I am hoping to build up some of my resistence muscles and not go crazy just because I am at Disneyland.

Have a great day!!!!:cheer2:

:cheer2: for the tracking! that's half the battle! I hope you have a great trip to Disneyland... I'm very envious!

Welcome! WW is a wonderful way to learn how to eat properly and change your lifestyle. I know Mary Anne and Donald is #1 answered your question, but I just want to add that it is extremely important to eat your points worth and follow the healthy guidelines. I know it seems weird to eat so you can lose weight, but if you aren't getting enough calories and the proper nutrition, your body can go into starvation mode and that is not healthy at all. If you can eat them, peanut butter and nuts like almonds are also good snacks.

ETA: I almost forgot to put in how I did at my WI tonight (I will blame the dogs... they distracted me :upsidedow) I have absolutely no idea how I did it, but I am down 4.2 more lbs bringing my total to 49 lbs lost :yay: :yay: :yay: So very excited, I can't believe I forgot it the first time I posted. With the way my body works, I'm kind of expecting a low/no weight loss next week, maybe even a gain, but that's alright. I will just stick to the program and make sure I continue tracking.

Hope everyone had a good day!
Rachel

What if I can't eat all the points for the day because I'm full? My daily is 22 and I routinely am full after 20. I exercise 4 poitns per day and don't use the extra 35 per week. This will be only my 2nd weigh in on Thursday but I blew all 35 on Saturday and Sunday for this week I think. So, as I am doing WW online, do I keep track of the 35 or just the daily points that I eat regardless of the total?

I couldn't find the answer in "help". I'd apprecate any advice. And what are the "swap" poins?

Hi! Yes, you should also track your extra points. If you are doign WW on-line and tracking your points there, then it will also automatically track the extra points.

I am not sure on the swap points.

On your 22 versus 20 points, is your total per day 22 without the exercise?

Hi everyone! Congrats on your weight losses. I would love to join this thread. Hopefully it will help motivate me with weight loss and also give me some good ideas on meals and snacks. I'm a SAHM to two children age 9 and age 4. Four year old will be five in May and I still need to lost this babyweight :guilty:. Was size 1 before kids, but now it's hard because I'm hypothyroid and have to fight for every once. I would love to lose 15 lbs. but 10 before our trip to Disney would be great too. I'm going to join WW online because it's easier than driving to meetings. But then again will I be more accountable at the meetings ?

You should eat at a minimum all of your 22 daily points, and you may find that your losses may be better if you eat more of the 35 flex points too. Sometimes you need the extra food to keep your metabolism up, especially if you are exercising every day. Don't be afraid to eat the flex points or the activity points. They are there for us to use, and can help increase your loss at times. Someone had suggested eating full fat milk and yogurt, or nuts to help get all the points in. Good luck this week.

I was down .2 on sat, and had tracked everything and stayed within my points. I thought it would be more, but didn't give up, and am still on track and tracking, so hope this week will be better.

Want to welcome all the newcomers too. This is a great, supportive thread. I hope to have more time to come around more often.

:thumbsup2 slightly_obsessed and Nancyg! :cool1:

The end of our 10 week Biggest Loser challenge is on Thursday...wish me luck! I am hoping to be down 7# for the challenge (and under goal)!
Hi Debbi,
Hope all is well with you. Congrats on the bl challenge!!

have a great, losing day.:)

Welcome and good for you for joining WW! I know you have been answered several times but I want to "weigh in" as well. Being full and having enough are two different things. My DDIL was feeling full but following CORE. She also made a point of fulfilling all of her healthy guidelines but she was not losing weight. My DD helped her to track her calories and she was only getting an average of 900 per day. No wonder she was hanging on to every ounce of her weight, her body thought that it was starving. Others have given good advice to help you eat all of your points, I just want to encourage you to give it a try and see how it goes.

Excellent! What a nice surprise and what a way to prove that WW shows us how to make healthy choices even when we are not thinking about it :thumbsup2

Hi everyone! Congrats on your weight losses. I would love to join this thread. I'm going to join WW online because it's easier than driving to meetings. But then again will I be more accountable at the meetings ?

Welcome! I can only speak for myself, I am more accountable when I know that I am going to join my group. See how the online works for you and if you find that you want to additional support a meeting provides try one out.

It is in the right direction :thumbsup2 We talked about the slow weeks and why a scale may not show progress. For me the scale only showed .2 but I know why.....I was not really serious for part of the week and while I wa able to get back on track there was not pushing that Irish soda bread and butter back into the packages ;)

We will both see changes this week :thumbsup2

I've been trying to figure this out and I don't know that I've heard the term "swap points" before. all I can come up w/ is w/ activity points you earn, you have the option of swapping them for food if you want. what's the context or sentence where you founds swap points?

welcome!!! I have never tried WW online, but I love the meetings. I think I am more accountable because of them and i like having as big of a support system as I can find. but that's just me. you've got to do what works best for you. :goodvibes

congrats on your loss and your persistence! all of your hard work will pay off for you and you are doing such a great job. :thumbsup2 Thanks for your cheers for me. I can't seem to comprehend my loss... I keep looking at my book to make sure I really have lost that much :rotfl:i don't think I believe it yet.. i'm such a dork. :rolleyes1

I hope everyone is having a good weekend so far. I was planning on being snow bound (they were calling for 4-8 inches in my area :scared:) but we didn't get any. Now I don't have any excuse for not going to the gym. We've also got a full house until the end of June. My father in law is taking off in his camper on April 1 and won't be back until then. We will both of his dogs, in addition to ours, until then. :upsidedow Wish us luck!

Happy Saturday everyone,
Rachel

Ok so I weighed myself this morning and after starting WW online on Monday and I have lost 5 pounds so far  I am think I am doing well on the online but I left 5.5 points yesterday and I was mad at myself. I guess I will get the hang of the points system eventually but for now i am either going over by 1 or 2 pts or missing it by 5.5 points. I am drinking the 8 glasses of water a day and it is driving me crazy! I have never used the bathroom so many times in my life. I hope it gets better :rotfl:

great job!!! :cheer2: it sounds like you are doing great online. I actually go over my points every day by a couple, but I don't eat out a lot, so it's how I use my weekly 35 pts. nothing wrong with it. keep up the great work!

i don't think the bathroom breaks get better... i do the same thing :rotfl: sorry!

Think of those bathroom breaks as the fat flowing out of your system! That's what I used to do. I do know that all the water keeps the scale moving. It does get better though althought I still go alot, I just don't feel the urgency as much anymore as I did in the beginning. And the following comment might be a little too much information, BUT, when I started this I used to need to wear a panty liner all the time as if I coughed or sneezed.... well.... I can tell that 75 lbs lighter and being used to drinking water, I no longer have that problem. Who would have thought!

Have a great day all.

Thank You

Lol I hate when that happens :)

Congratulations to everyone on your successes! Last week I stayed the same and this week I lost .8. I think after losing 15 pounds, I am reaching a plateau. I will probably have to increase my exercise to help things along, since i would still like to lose 10-15 more pounds.
Have a wonderful week!:)

I too am finding with the last 10 lbs or so I need to up my exercise. I am really pushing the walking and I find that while I'm not losing more then 1 lb a week anymore (which is FINE!) I am at least losing something just about every week. I'm fine with it. I really wish I had a gym that was convient for me. There is nothing near my house and doing it in the city where I work is really expensive. there is a curves by me at home but I've heard terrible reviews so I feel like that is a waste of money. In the meantime, I put on my step counter and walk...

Thanks Rachel and Nancy. Slow and steady is the way, some days that's easier to take than others. I am down .4 this week, after another week within my points and tracking everything. I had a little stomach bug earlier in the week, and ate a lot of toast and sprite one day, and didn't have any milks for a couple days. Even though I'm within my points, I could do better with the healthy guidelines, so I'm going to focus on getting them in this week. I bought some chocolate 2 point bars, but will only have one at night if I've been totally on track, and gotten all my vegies, milks and waters in as a reward.

Congrats!! That's fabulous! (the 5 pounds, not the bathroom fun)
