WW Weekly Weigh In--- Part 2

This thread is kind of quiet but I bet once the start of the year comes it will be hopping again.

I had a 2.8 loss this week for a total of 60.2 lbs. It is a nice way to enter the Christmas ww break and a number to keep me motovated throughout the holidays.

Oh boy, what a week... down another 4, but I'll attribute that to the fact that I have been SO sick for the past week. Finally starting to feel ljust a little bit better, thankfully. Leaving on Monday for 2 weeks in Europe. Walking everywhere, drinking alot of water, and politely declining some of those crazy german treats.

Well, I'll be back around Jan. 6th or so. I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday, and a great new year. I'm sure there will be alot of new faces after the new year around here, soooooo welcome to any other newbie who stumbles across this.

:) .

Thanks for all the advice, guys! :)

I'll be in Berlin, Germany for 2 weeks. I'm going with DBF, who was raised there till his teen years. Most of his family is still there, so that is who we will be seeing and staying with. My biggest concern is that his mom cooks all sorts of crazy things, and it is all going to be so unfamiliar to me! But I'll definately make it a point to drink a ton of water, and hopefully lots of walking around the city too!

And you can bet I'll be back here just as soon as I get back in the States!

I love the "It's a live-it, not a diet" thing... i think that really sums up the message of how you are really changing what you eat and how you exercise to be a healthier, happier you, and just eating less to lose weight.

I hope everyone is having a wonderful week! :)

I found Germany a hard country to eat in, a lot of their food is very heavy and rich. I look forward to hearing how your trip went.

Congratulations Mary Anne, you are doing such a wonderful job!

I am surprised to see how quiet this thread has been, I thought I would have a ton of catching up to do, but I guess like myself everyone has been busy. I have also been eating way too much and need to get back to it. My birthday is on Saturday and my work is starting a Biggest Loser challenge on January 5th so I am going to cruise until then and then get back on the wagon as I imagine many others will too.

Happy New Year everyone! I just wanted to pop in to wish you all a wonderful New Year even though I am not really, who am I kidding, I am not even trying, to follow the program until January 3rd.

Stay safe all!

I haven't checked in for a while so I'll give a quick update. I earned my 25lb star right before Christmas and was thrilled, it has been a long hard road.

However I'm sure I've probably gained about 3 lbs over Christmas. I haven't been to a meeting since before Christmas because my normal night is Thursday and I just haven't been able to fit it in anywhere.

Hopefully the Wiifit, DDR and Jillian Michael's games I got for Christmas will help bring me back down to my pre-Christmas weight really quick.

Good luck to everyone with your weigh-ins

Happy New Year everyone! I have been away from this thread for too long :sad2:

I've been up and down with my weight for too long now and really, really need to get back on track. I missed most of December's meetings due to appointments and our trip to Disney, but did finally get to the one last Wednesday. I wasn't going to go because I had a hundred things to take care of before Christmas, but I ran into a fellow WW'er at the supermarket and she encouraged me to go to the meeting. I am very glad I put myself first!

I just got the new material at the meeting on Wednesday but haven't read through it all yet. I did not weigh in at that meeting ~ I am at my goal weight so I have the 2 lb window, but I just did not want to see that number written down you know? I was hoping I could lose a little to weigh in this week instead (I haven't weighed all month so I have to weigh in by this Wednesday) Unfortunately I haven't been able to make even one day without blowing all my points :sad2: :guilty: I'll be lucky if I don't go over my 2 lb over goal limit:headache:

Anyway...it's new day so I'll start over, again! Good to "see" you all again...hoping to get this thread moving a little more now that the holidays are over. :goodvibes

Hello everyone! It's been forever since I've been here. Hope you all had some fun and happy holidays.

Mary Anne- wow!! 60 pounds is awesome!! What a fantastic year you have had. You have kept so motivated and have been consistently losing. You should be proud, and you are an inspiration to us all.

Memy26- Congratulations on 25 pounds gone!! That is so great, and at such a tough time of year. Keep up the great work.

KGH- WHoo hoo!! 4 pounds is wonderful. Hope you are feeling better and enjoying your trip!!

Hello Tiggerlover, cepmom, Nancy, and everyone else. I've missed you all. I've been faithful about going to my meetings this month, and keeping up with the exercise, and only gained 3 pounds over Christmas week. I'm on track again since sat, because in two and a half weeks, we go to wdw on the dining plan, so I really want to have a little buffer.

Hope to come around here more often. Happy new year to all!

cepmom, I am right there with you, it is so hard getting back on program after all of my holiday eating. I know the scale is up and I refuse to go weigh in in January until I can get back to goal (right now I am a little over goal). My work is starting a Biggest Loser Challenge and I am hoping on the bandwagon, I feel I need to detox my body after all of my bad eating the last couple of weeks. I am hoping with the work challenge it will eliminate all of the bad foods sitting around the workplace.

We can do this, we have the knowledge, we just need to get back to the basics. Happy New Year to you too and here's to a new year and to a healthier us!

Hello dear friend, I have missed you! Hope you had a wonderful holiday! You are in good company, I think a lot of us have let things slide over the holidays (today is the first day in a week that I have been to the gym). But as with the New Year every year, it is a perfect time to renew our commitments to getting healthy.

My eating has been horrible, I have totally been eating everything and anything and I am paying for it now, I am uncomfortable in my skin and know it is time to get back to it. Today was my first day back to exercise, in addition to a burning workout at the gym today we went to play laser tag, after three rounds I was sweating up a storm and totally pooped. I still have a couple of eating events this week, NYE and my birthday and then on 1/4/09 it is back to it for me!!

You must be so excited with a trip on the horizon, I bet you can't wait. It was good "seeing" you. Best wishes for a Happy New Year!

Hello fellow WWs. I found the link to this thread on the Budget Board. I'm a WW Lifetime member. I'm 62 and a grandma to 6. I first hit goal in 1980 when I lost 22 lbs. Quit going to meetings, and over the course of 28 years, I gained 43 lbs. I rejoined last March, and have reached goal +! I've lost 49 lbs. and feel great. However....for the first time 9 months, I GAINED 2 lbs over these past two weeks. I totally caved in to all those holiday goodies. DRATS. I weigh in again this morning, and will get right back on track! I love WW - of all the weight loss programs available, it makes the most sense. My doctor tells me it's a wise program too.

:welcome: and congratulations on your lifetime status!!! As a lifetime member I know those holiday slips can and do happen, I am right there with you, so I will be joining countless others in refocusing on a healthier me this new year.

Happy New Year!!!!

Here is to a new year and a healthier you!!! Best wishes to you all for a FABULOUS 2009!!

Happy New Year tiggerlover and everyone else!!

I weighed in yesterday and was pleasantly surprised that I was exactly 1 pound under my goal :woohoo: Considering the way I have been eating lately, this is great news:laughing:

I looked at my weigh in booklet and noticed that the last weigh in was 11/19, the week before Thanksgiving. I am up 3.2 lbs since then which I actually think is pretty good considering that is Thanksgiving, a trip to Disney (with the dining plan which I took full advantage of all the snacks, desserts etc ;) )Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

However, I am ready to get back on track. I want to lose 7 pounds to get back to where I am most comfortable. I am giving myself until 2/1 to get there. I have not been able to exercise for a week or so now...having pain in my heel which sounds to me like plantar fasciitis (sp?) Trying to give it a rest to let it heal before I make it worse running on the treadmill. I guess walking around Disney in flip flops wasn't so smart :headache:

I am desperately trying to find a Wii Fit to go with the Wii Santa brought us. Anyone know where they have them in stock?

Have a great day everyone and here's to a happy, healthy new year in 2009!!!!:wizard:

Happy New Year Everyone!

Sorry I've been away since Thanksgiving too. I missed reading the board, but it looks like everyone has been busy. I hope everyone had happy holidays. Congrats to everyone who hit their goal for the season and to those that are recommitting themselves. I think we all should be proud of ourselves, regardless of how the last month and a half went b/c we are all committing to better health. :cheer2:

I hit my 30 lb loss mark in December and then the next week had a small gain (my first) and it dropped me to having lost 29.8. I know it's not that big of a gain, but it motivated me to at least maintain the 30 lbs over the holiday's. But I have actually done pretty well and have lost 33.6 lbs so far. I weigh in on Saturday so I'll see what the damage was from yesterday. :scared: Luckily, the only thing I have left is my birthday dinner sometime next week and then it's back to normal...

I do have a question for everyone - how do you decide what your final goal is? did you just pick a number or did you base it on something particular? I probably need to pick mine soon and I can't decide.

Have a great day everyone! :flower3:

I have discussed a goal weight with my Doctor. I'm going to have him give me a note within the next 2 months and put that on file with Weight Watchers. At this point it's about another 20 lbs or so so I'm hoping to reach it at somepoint during the year. My goal is to be at lifetime before the end of 2009.

I can tell you that depending on your age the ranges set by WW and health guidelines may be to low for you. I do know that the range set by my doctor is at least 20 lbs OVER what ww book said. He told me at my age (58 and frame) that would not be a healthly weight for me.
I do not weigh in again till next Thursday so I'm hoping that at least I've just held my own over the holidays. I've tracked and counted and stayed within my daily and weekly point range, but I have eaten a lot of tastes of different foods. But it is what it will be and I will just keep moving forward. ONWARD AND DOWNWARD is the motto

Our Wal-mart has had several in stock the past few times we have been there.

I know exactly how you feel. Good for you for getting back to the gym. Laser tag sounds like fun. What age would you reccommend that? There is a place nearby that I bet my son would love to go to. Happy new year, and Happy birthday!! Enjoy your celebrations. That exercise will definitely help counteract you splurges.

Great job staying under your goal this holiday season. 3.2 is not much in the whole holiday scheme of things. Hope you enjoyed your holidays this year. I'm sure it was tough being the first year without your dad. Did you have an awesome trip? How did you enjoy the dining plan? I can't wait to do it on our trip. I actually think the sit down meals will be good for me because I would be more likely to eat healthier at a restaurant than I do at counter service, or snacking through the day. Also I'm thinking my son will be more than happy to share my dessert, and I'm guessing the kids desserts aren't the usual size desserts. Hope your heel feels better soon.

Congrats on your loss!! 33.6 is awesome. It's amazing how that .2 can really motivate you to get back on track. I weighed in at 200.2 last week, and it had pushed me to get back on track this week. Don't like seeing the 200s anymore.

How long have you been doing ww? I have no doubt you will make lifetime this year. You have been such a steady and consistent loser.

Happy New Year everyone!! May 2009 be a losing year for all of us!!

thanks...I'll check there this week!

yeah this Christmas was not easy. I was very busy after Thanksgiving trying to get shopping done, get everything wrapped before our trip that I was distracted enough to not think about it so often. Then we returned late on the 21st and it really hit me hard the days leading up to Christmas. :sad1:

We had a wonderful trip...it was just DH and I. We had taken the kids this past August so we didn't feel too guilty about going without them. Seeing all the decorations was so nice too. The dining plan was nice; we had the free dining promotion so I don't know that we'd pay out of pocket for it though. We ate a ton, but it was so nice to have a sit down meal each day to enjoy. Eating mostly CS meals can get old real quick. We ate at Tutto Italia (expensive! ~ would not eat here if I had to pay out of pocket), Coral Reef (awesome grilled Mahi Mahi), Whispering Canyon (DH's pick) and The Wave (nice salad and dessert options). All were very good.

We also had free dining when we went with the kids, but I can't really remember what the kid's dessert choices were. I really wish Disney Dining would let you choose appetizer or dessert instead of just dessert. Dh and I aren't really dessert people but we both enjoy getting appetizers. Oh well...the desserts were really good!

Have a great trip!
