I have not been to an Army away game but I have been to a game at West Point (which I posted here in the past).

Personally I'm glad you got to see an Army game close(r) to you than WP, NY. Now that they are in the same conference as UAB (1 hour away from me), I would like to go see Army here in Birmingham (UAB) when Bama does not have a home game.

They are playing UAB in Birmingham next week. Hopefully they figure out how to win again. It's been a big skid since this win.

I also might see them at home occasionally in the near future. DD all of a sudden has the idea she wants to go to a service academy, no pressure or even mention from me. We're looking at applications and summer camps for next year

I would love to get up to Bham to see UAB-Army but here at home Bama plays a home game against Vandy (who beat us last year in a rare upset) but living less than 0.5 miles from the stadium and having 4 season home tix we have folks who:

: want to park in our driveway
: want to use our bathroom
: want to watch the game from our house while the spouse attends the game
: want to eat our pre-game tailgate food

Jack if you and DW were in the driveway I'd gladly clear the slate for you and her.

I might have to get GRUFF with folks.

Oh, Jack, I am late in giving my feedback on the recent Army-UAB game (been doing childcare duties but):

Army looked good in their game down here in Alabama against Univ of Al-Birimingham (UAB). Like I said earlier, I wish I could have gone to the game - but since they are in the same conference (American), I hope they will return in two years and the Alabama schedule lines up for me to go cheer for Army. The Army-UAB game was on my tv for the early lunch tailgate before the Vandy-AL game this past Saturday.

PS - while the outcome was positive, don't get the big head because well, honestly, UAB makes ALL of their opponents look good. Good luck against Charlotte this Saturday.

Army has had a rough go of it this year. They won games they had no business winning and then choked on sure things. UAB was the first time they looked quasi normal for a Monken era team.

That said, only one game they have to win to be successful. Not sure they'll be able to pull it off this year against Navy.

Merry Christmas all. I've been a bit absent from the board lately. We've had our heads down with home renovations and work was really busy for me. I posted a couple of teases of the home renovations earlier, here's some before an after for everything:

Didn't get a pic before the deck was ripped off, but we pulled it off and put a 4 season room on






The basement was totally unfinished. There's this room, a bedroom, and a bathroom we added

Didn't get a good before on the stairs and living room, but the floor was carpet, hand rails white, and stairs all carpet.


Happy with the progress. A little more work here and there, but we're alive now. Let me know if anyone is on the way through KC. We have guest RV hook ups and room to socialize now!
