WW Weekly Weigh In--- Part 2

Thanks for letting me know about adding cool whip because that sounds delicious and something I'm going to try. I bought the pumpkin and a cake mix today so I'll be baking over the weekend. How many points do you count per cupcake?

I got 20 cupcakes so I count 2 pts. My DD adds 1/2 cp and gets 12 so she counts 3 points.

Hey fellow WWers. I'm looking for a WW friendly dessert to take for Thanksgiving. Anyone tried something recently that really rocked?

What kind of dessert are you looking for? I made a trifle with pumpkin angel cake and SF FF white chocolate pudding and Cool Whip free. It was really good.

If you want something different let us know, I'll check my files once I know what you are looking for.

Ugh. I hate fluctuations! I was up 1.8 at weigh-in yesterday, then back down 2 today. What gives?!!

Were you on two different scales? Also I am a firm believer that you should only weigh yourself one day a week, on the same scale, in the same type clothing.

Whatever you do, don't eat into the fluxuation. That is the worst thing you can do.

I believe the same thing. Weigh in one time a week at the same time the same scale and stay off the scale for the rest of the week. Every body can fluctuate up to three pounds so the every day weigh in can be a disaster!

Same scales (I do WW Online). I know people say not to weigh more than once a week. But I just can't help myself! :rotfl2:

One of the lifetime folks in our meeting told me that she needs to count points in order to maintain. She said counting makes her more aware. She looks and feels great!

She is absolutely right, I really need to get back to journaling and counting those points. I tried yesterday and made it all the way to dinner......and then I blew it. I haven't even thought of journaling today and the day is over. I need a push to get with it, I just don't know why I am having such a hard time these days!

Many things....sodium intake, water intake, what you ate the day before. Things like rice, pasta and sodium are things you definitely want to stay away from at least a day prior to weigh in.

tiggerlover, the fact that you don't count is what keeps me away from Core. I need that accountability. What I am finding now is since my daily point count is going down, (dumb me losing all that weight LOL ) I need to use my weekly points. Some days I need them and then some days I don't (Yesterday was my NEED day) but by counting I feel at least I know where I am.

Most days I try and eat as many core foods as I can.

Losing is easy, staying on program and maintaining is hard. You can do it, you jut ned to pick one thing and stay with it. Eat all you want, but journal it. That is my motto.

hey everyone, I haven't had time yet to go back and read the last week or so (I will!), but congrats to all the losers and  to those who are struggling.

Plan wise for me it wasn't such a good week and I didn't get the exercise I'm used too... but I did get to cuddle with a baby. And my wonderful sister sent me back with some clothes to wear while I'm in transition so I don't have to buy new ones. She's wonderful :goodvibes

I weighed in yesterday and was down 0.6, which would be more disappointing, except I hit my 25 lbs lost mark :cool1: So I still got to celebrate, and I'm more determined for a good week to keep those lbs slipping off. :thumbsup2

Happy Sunday everyone!
Rachel

Someone told me that the time change and early evening has something to do with it. I don't know, I have weeks when I am like a bottomless pit and others when I breeze through. :confused3

Good for you! I am 24 away from 25 and i am hoping I make it this week. .5 is such a wonderful milestone!

I know you are right, Mary Anne, I just have to get myself back into being accountable....that has been my struggle! I have been doing this long enough to know better, but for some reason I am still struggling.

Nancyg56, that may be part of it, I didn't think of it.

Ok... very long post. I didn't realize I hadn't posted in so long...

Ah jeez- I am already in a little trouble. 1st day and I dipped into my flex points. Hoping to get through tomorrow without using any.

Don't worry... that's what they are there for! Some weeks, I use a couple extra points a day, so I save it for a night out. No worries!

I lost 4.2 LBS!! I think fat melts and drinking the water makes your body get rid of it, by flushing it out! Probably not true, but makes it easier to drink! :)

Great loss :thumbsup2 I'm happy to believe that fat melts... so long as it's coming off! Side note: anyone watch the new Dr. Who series? This just reminds me of season 3 premire (I think) with the weight loss pills where fat just kind of walks away? No one? Just me? :rolleyes1

Here in Canada we get 1 full year off for Maternity leave (it is at 55% of your wages, so there is a cost).

Well, for my update. I weighed in Monday and it was not good, so I decided (since I am doing online) I would weigh in Tuesday this week. I still did not do that good. I was only down 2.0 lbs. Now, I know 2.0 lbs is good, but earlier in the week I was down 3.0 lbs and I was sad to see that lb had snuck back up on me. This is why I should not peak at the scale!!

Amy

ok first - holy crap, I'm moving to Canada! a year?! and a 2 lbs loss is fantastic and nothing to be upset about. I think it's important if you weigh yourself more often than once a week (which I do), you realize how much your weight fluctuates based on time and what you eat. Don't let something like this derail you or decrease the victory of those 2 lbs gone! And days like the one you had happen sometimes; it's a learning process. Just move on to the next day.

Here is some info about water and why it works. It is long I think worth it.

Thank you for sharing this article. I didn't realize you were supposed to have an extra water for the extra weight you are carrying. it makes sense.

I went to my meeting and I'm up .6 today. I know I shouldn't be happy about that but I really thought it was going to be much more. I needed to have her write it down and make it official so I could get back on track and hopefully have a loss next week.

Nothing wrong with being happy with a small gain, especially since you know your body... good luck with getting back on track! :goodvibes

Unfortunately I am a stress/social eater and I've been under a great deal of stress lately. And the social events, well, they've already started and won't be over til January. I think at this point, I'm going to be happy if I can just maintain.

In our meeting today we talked about making ourself prepared for this time of year. Maybe it would help to think of ways to prepare yourself for the different social events, like plan on taking something you like and know it low in points or eating something before or maybe holding a drinking in your hand most of the time? While maintaining during this season is good, don't give up on weight loss yet!

Today was weigh-in day and I'm down another two pounds. So, I've been on WW for seven weeks and I've lost 9.5 pounds.

congrats!! :cool1:

Another lb gone. At this stage, I will take that one lb a week and be happy to see it.

congrats on another pound gone! :thumbsup2

Weigh in was... boring- no loss no gain. But truthfully I haven't started anything but exercise so far.

At least it's not a gain! And exercise it so important, I think it's a great place to start. Good luck with this next week! :goodvibes

I also stopped journalling. :scared1: I know that is awful!! But, it is like why should I write it down, I know it is bad!!

I'm sorry you had such a bad week. My leader told us about one of the guys in a different meeting. He didn't count points like he was supposed to, so one week he decided just to write down the bad things he ate one week and that was enough to show him why he didn't lose any of those lbs that week. Just thought it was an interesting approach.

I just got back from my weekly WI and am proud to say...........I'm down 3 lbs.

congrats!!! :woohoo:

have a good day tomorrow everyone!
Rachel

Has anyone come up with a plan for Thanksgiving to stay OP or are you giving yourself the day off?

My thoughts are to eat the white meat, lots of vegetables and choose only one starch (stuffing, potatoes or biscuit) and to limit the gravy. As for dessert I am going to bring a pumpkin pudding pie made with skim milk and FF Cool Whip so at least there is one dessert that wouldn't be so bad.

What are y'all doing?

I got a surprise last night at WI. I was up .4! not down like I wanted. I was disappointed, I was OP all week long, took walks and watched my portions. Next time I am having that glass of wine!

tiggerlover- I am working on Thanksgiving. We talked about it in the meeting last night and it was scary! Even though we all follow CORE the desserts were wicked!

I am planning to lighten up the traditional sides that we will have like the stuffing and gravy.

The veggies will be CORE mostly and I will make some desserts. I will post my menu when I finish working it out if you want. WE can compare notes.
Our leader said to look out for the day after Thanksgiving, it is worse than the actual day. I bet she is right, I used to graze all day and then have leftovers for supper. Deserts lasted all weekend and into the beginning of the following week. This year will probably be the same with less in between nibbling, but more WW friendly foods so that I am not throwing my girls and myself under the bus.

Our family is having our TG dinner on Sat the 29th. due to split family

So this is my plan. I'm giving myself the day off. Since we are doing Sat, and my WI is on friday I get to WI before the big meal and not after.:thumbsup2
But I still plan on making wise choices. Like you Tiggerlover, I'm going for the white meat. I guess I might need to bring the vegetables, as my DIL's are not big on veggies.
But mainly I plan on paying attention to portion size and not going back for seconds. And I also plan on just 1-2 glasses of Champagne or wine. And lots of water.
And I will tell my DMIL that I don't want leftovers packaged up to come home with me.

We're going to MIL's....my plan is to watch portions, white meat only (which I almost always do anyway),lots of veggies, and I am trying to find a recipe for WW freindly stuffing instead of eating MIL's sausage stuffing. I am also going to try to bring a dessert; I am thinking of trying tiggerlovers pumpkin praline cake...sounds delish! I'll have that glass of wine or two also and most likely use most if not all of my weekly points that day. The good thing is that my WI day is Wednesday so I won't need to face the scale until a week later!

Another good idea I'll do is to eat wisely before we go so I don't get to the table at 4:00 starving. I'll have soup for lunch, plenty of water and a good low points breakfast.

anyone have a good low points stuffing recipe they can share??
