WW Weekly Weigh In--- Part 2

Thanks tiggerlover, and congrats to you on handling the potluck. I get so overwhelmed by the tasty choices on potlucks/buffets that it is nice to feel like I have conquered something like you did.

Woohoo! I made 10%!!!:cool1:

I was down 1.4 this morning--so I've lost 10% of the weight I was at on Jan. 5th!! With the 35 I lost before joining WW, I'm down 63 pounds in the last 2 1/2 years. :goodvibes

Oh, and guess what prize I won at our faculty meeting today!! A whopping 1/2 pound candy bar:rolleyes:. It's going to be shared with the rest of the grade level at our meeting tomorrow--that way I can have just a bite and get rid of the rest of it! But hey, not long ago that thing would already be open and partially gone--my self-control is getting better at least!

Hope everyone had a great Monday!

  GREAT JOB!!!
That's good self control on the candy. Before WW I would have finished the bar!:scared1: Keep up the good work!:goodvibes

I weighed in tonight. I was down .75 of a pound. I was a little disappointed that it wasn't more, but hey, it is in the right direction!

Good luck to everyone else over the week.

:thumbsup2 You're doing just fine! Any loss is a good loss--just keep it up and all those little losses add up to a slimmer, healthier you!!

Thanks, NCRedding. It is one step at a time, I get so overwhelmed with buffets and potlucks and it varies on my will power on a particular day as to how I handle them. I have an opportunity coming up on Friday and I do not feel strong about attending and I am almost thinking of not going just to play it safe. I will have to continue to talk to myself about it and see if I think I can handle it. One event at a time....baby steps.

it's easy to get discouraged when you don't see the loss you are hoping for but .75 is still good since it's not a gain!! Keep doind what you're doing and it will all catch up with you:goodvibes

I just got back from WI and I am down 2.2 this week. Also, according my my "Walking to the World ticker, I have logged 200 miles! :woohoo: Now I only have 1130 to go :lmao:

Weighed in this morning....Down .8lbs. I know it's not a lot, but as my leader says....I lost 3 sticks of butter. Put that in your hand and it looks like a lot! Congrats to all the losers. For those who didn't, just keep at it and the weight will come off!!:goodvibes :goodvibes

Congrats to you on both accounts. 2.2 lbs. is great and WOW on the 200 miles. Do you get to reward yourself with a trip when you reach your goal?

A loss, any loss is great. I have a whole new outlook on that. Once you maintain for a week or two you really appreciate all the .2 or .4 being that much closer to another pound. You did great. :thumbsup2

I lost 1.6 this week. Only one more pound to reach my mini goal of 20 pounds. I hope next week will get me there.

That's great on your loss. I really hope you hit that 20lbs mark. :goodvibes I'm trying for that 70lbs for next week myself. I was actually surprised with the loss this week. I went out to lunch on Friday, out to dinner on Saturday AND Sunday. :scared1: Being on the core makes that a little more of a challenge. This weekend, I don't think we are going out for anything, so that might help!

Great Job on the loss!!:cool1: 200 miles is awesome too. Keep up all the great work! :goodvibes

I was down 2 pounds this morning! :cool1:

This is my biggest loss in a while! I am .2 away from my 10%. Hopefully I can keep up what I am doing and make that and then some next week.

Congrats to all of the losers this week! Keep up the good work!

Wow, what a bunch of losers!!!! :)

Congratulations cepmom, bucci818, Grumpy's Wife and mfabre....great job one and all!!

Onward and downward!!

This is just what I need.

Day one of ww (again). I did well on points today but have felt woozy all day. I have lost weight once before out of a million half hearted tries on WW and then life got the best of me and I gained a good bit back.

So a fresh start and I am determined to do it - flex plan for me!

I am so happy to find this board - I think it will really help me and hopefully I can help too!

So what do you flex plan people eat for breakfast? It's my toughest meal!

:welcome: And good for you for making another go of it. Sometimes it takes us doing things over to get it right! I started WW three times before I found success, so I know it can be done.

I recently switched to Core, but when I was doing flex my favorite breakfast was 1/2 cup of Egg Beaters, either made into scrambled eggs (with ketchup) or made into an omlet with tomatoes, onion and spinach or a wedge of Laughing Cow Cheese. With either one I would have two pieces of Lite toast (40 cal/slice) with I Can't Believe It's Not Butter Lite spread. For awhile I was eating the WW chocolate shake made with skim milk and lots of ice to make it a frothy treat.

Welcome and I hope this is the time that you lose lots of weight and get healthy. I love this board. Everyone is so nice and it really helps having a great support system. Downward we go.

tiggerlover how are you doing on Core? Do you feel you are missing out on anything? There is a lady at my WW group doing Core and she has a nice loss every week. I think I'm a little to picky for Core. I wish you great success on it.

Hi! I'm new to the whole Weight Watchers thing. Just wanted to chime in since DH and I are starting! We're writing up a contract tonight to keep us motivated:

we lose X# of pounds and get to set a date for our next Dis trip
we lose X# of pounds and get to buy our Dis tickets

etc.

Hopefully it keeps us motivated. I want to lose 30lbs, and DH wants to lose around the same. Hopefully we can do it! Just wondering- how many points are you all allowed to have? My DMIL says that she can only have 35 a week, but a friend of mine told me that she can have 35 a day.... so I'm thinking to myself... oh uhhh...

Welcome!

the number of points depends on which plan you are following. On flex plan you count points daily. You have to do the quiz in the first week book (or online if you are doind WW online) to find out what your daily points are. Then you also have 35 weekly or flex points that you can choose to use in addition to your daily points or choose not to use at all.

On the core plan you choose foods from a set list, you can eat as much of those foods as neede to feel satisfied. You also have 35 weekly points to use in addition to the core foods which you can use on foods not on the core foods list. You can choose to use the 35 weekly points or not, same as flex. I follow flex plan so I may be off a little on the basics of the core plan. Several of the posters here follow core so I'm sure they will be along to explain it better than I have!

Losers are winner in this group!!!! :D

I am doing okay on Core. I have to say when I follow it to a "T" I am nicely rewarded, but as with anything (I am finishing up week three) I start to get a little comfortable and relax a little. DH's birthday is this week and we have celebrated twice already! I am due to WI on Saturday, so I will have to post an update. I like Core, I really think it is a cleaner way of eating, but it takes more work as there are no pre-packaged foods to grab, most everything is fresh and requires a little more work, but it is worth it.

:welcome: We always love having more people join our group!

cepmom gave you great information. I just wanted to add that the more you weigh, the more points you are allowed per week on Flex. As you loose the weight you will loose points the closer you are to your goal weight. Everyone, whether on Core or Flex gets 35 additional Flex points per week, for Flex that is in addition to your weekly points. I think your friend misspoke as I do not believe anyone would get 35 points per day.....way too much.

The best advice I have is to attend a meeting, get all of the information and ask lots of questions. Even if you don't plan on attending meetings for the long haul, I would go, sign up just to get the information and some support. Even after being a part of WW for 5 years, I still learn something new from my weekly meetings or from people here on this thread. I have joined WW three times before being successful; the first time I attended meetings and gave up; the second time I joined online and lost 65 pounds. I thought I could do it on my own and maintain my loss, but that wasn't the case, I gained 25 pounds back. I joined WW the third (and last time) and started with the meetings again, lost the 25 pounds and have been a lifetime member for almost a year. What I have learned is that this is not a diet, it is a lifestyle choice and to be successful I need support, whether it is by meetings or online, but I need support to be successful. Everyone is different, but that is what works for me. The greatest thing about WW is that there isn't anything that is off limits, it is all about choices and moderation.

Good luck on your journey, I hope it is a successful one for both you and your DH.

Welcome new (or 'new again') members! Congratulations to all who lost or maintained! You should still be very proud of yourselves for maintaining or losing under a lb. It all counts!!! Also congrats to those of you who had 'non-scale victories'!

I am down .6 this week. Not as big a number as I like, but I'm still happy  I only exercised a couple times this week and I didn't do as well as I had hoped at the dinner theater buffet. I did get low-cal dressing on my salad and skipped taking a roll, but I ate too much of the cheese spread and crackers they leave on your table and I also ordered turtle cheesecake for dessert but it was yummy and I don't regret it! I also had a family b-day party over the weekend, but luckily since I started WW, I have inspired most of the rest of the family to try to lose weight as well, so we had strawberry shortcakes sweetened with Splenda and with FF Cool Whip and light ice cream....instead of our normal cake and fattening ice cream. Then I went out to breakfast on Monday and just got French Toast with SF syrup and bacon again.

I think I'm finally starting to realize that I can go out to eat, but I just have to be careful about what I choose (though I already knew that logically before). I used to just have the mindset that if I was going out, I was going to 'pig out' and have all or nothing. I never had the willpower to be careful about what I chose when eating out, so I feel really good when I do make better choices now and then I still feel like I'm going out all the time and still losing weight :)

Well, I just had Taco Bell for lunch, so I need to find out how many points I had. Have a good week everyone! :goodvibes
